dave81983
Hi, I have just bought GRAW but appear to have a major problem with aiming. When I use any of the scopes (aimpoint/sniper/m8/eotech) I get a ridiculous amount of scope sway. The reticule sways about 1.5 inches on my 17 inch screen even when Im prone. What makes me think this is a bug is that when I fire the bullet does not hit what Im pointing at but higher and to the right of the red-dot / scope centre. I had this problem in the demo and thought it was just a bug which would be fixed. Im a bit confused. Is everyones reticule sway this bad or do I have some kind of problem? Dave. dave81983
Yeh I have 512mb of ram. My Specs are 2.26 Ghz P4, 512 mb ram , nvidia 6600GT. I know its a pile of crap, I really bought GRAW for the new PC I will be buying very soon but never the less I would still like to play it now. This is a joke. Why do the system specs not say you need 1gb. If I wasnt getting a new PC I would be VERY angry! Did anyone find a solution to this, Im on min graphics already! Thanks. Dave. MikSnoopy
There's a video I posted of this type of problem on 512mb of ram, see thread linked by Mianeac. Note: I'm currently RMA'ing my RAM, hence why I have so little at the moment.

DoubleArd
The min specs do include 1gb of ram? Minimum System Requirments for PC Operating System: Windows 2000/XP DirectX: DirectX9.0c 2 GHz Pentium® IV or the equivalent 1Gb RAM 5 GB of hard drive space NVIDIA® GeForce„ 6/7 or ATI® Radeon® 9600-9800/X Sound card: DirectX9 compatible sound Card DVD drive: 4 speed Hard Drive Space: 5GB Internet: Broadband / LAN connection
dave81983
Actually on the back of my box- uk version, there are no minimum RAM requirements it just says recommended 1 gb. Which implies it will work with less. As I say I am getting a new PC so Im not too bothered but I think this is misleading!
MikSnoopy
Correct me if I am wrong, but I belive the "512 Problem" wasn't really discovered/uncovered/vouched for till after the release of the game - in which case, all of the boxes they already printed.... To be exact the box says 1Gb Recommended To me, that does not mean "512Mb should be okay" it means "1Gb is recommended - any less and don't say we didn't warn you." Anyway, I feel your frustration, hope you can get some RAM, and if you possibly can please try and go for 2Gb, you won't regret it, nothing beats RAM for a good cost/benefit ratio. I'll add this question to the site FAQ for future reference.
th33f.
to meet minimum requirements = to be able to launch the application, not necessarily use it to full extent. that's why the recommended system requirements are there.

I'll add this question to the site FAQ for future reference. The back of my "box" states in "System Requirements; "RAM 1024 MB". The only thing that says "recommended" was the CPU. It states 2 GHz Pentium ®IV or equivelent (2.8 GHz recommended). I am not nit picking either. It seems that Ubisoft sent out different information on the boxes. I purchased mine at Best Buy on the 2nd day of release.
zulater
actually that is misleading. they should print the "minimum" and the "recommended" like all other game manufacturers. recommended 1gb is not the same as minimum 1 gb mine does say under "system requirements" 1024 so on my box at least they are covered for minimum 1024 Edited August 29, 2006 by zulater
TedSmith
To me, that does not mean "512Mb should be okay" it means "1Gb is recommended - any less and don't say we didn't warn you." The minimum requirements are the MINIMUM required for the game to function properly. The fact that it does not function properly with less than 1GB makes that a requirement. Recommendations are to run the game with all or most of the bells and whistles included in the game. A major game element failing to work unless you meet the recommended settings IS misleading and I'm quite sure that it's against the law to sell a product under those conditions. What's next? The screen is just a blurry haze if you don't use a Logitech keyboard? Hey, you can still play, just not very well unless you buy product X. Sorry Rocky, respect and all, but that argument is bogus in the extreme. That being said, every single box I have ever seen, every website I have ever seen (with the exception of EBGames prior to release which was corrected before release) have stated clearly that 1GB -IS- a requirement and not a recommendation. Can't speak for the UK boxes, though.
MikSnoopy
Maybe they'll release a patch to fix this, like they are doing for my Widescreen bug... You know, the one that I spent $400 on a piece of hardware for.....

Why can't they just come out and print xGB ram on the box? it's kind of sad that this is parallel to the problems of the game. the lack of attention to detail has created problems all the way around. RAbbi_74
Same here. Picked it up on/about 17 May at EB Games. COULD there be a difference in the packaging between DVD-ROM and CD-ROM versions, even though the box itself should be the same? Like, the insert on the outside of the box with all the nifty XboX360 screenies and all HAS to be a little different to establish whether it's CD-ROM or DVD-ROM, so did it get printed differently for System Requirements too? Papa6
I'm referring to the UK box. as some have said it says 1GB recommended. tells me that anything is fine, but we recommend 1GB

That might also explain why there were so many people complaining about the scope sway in the early months of the game. They were led to believe that the game would work with their system because of an error on the requirements listing. Pity, since I imagine some people would have just thought it was intentional as an exaggerated simulation of breathing/scope sway, called it stupid and tossed the game aside when they might have actually enjoyed it had they known. They tell you recommended but anything less... it may run, but not up to there standard. I'm thinking if you turned everything low at 800x600 the sway may stop. that means it's playable. Just not recommended at 512.
