GRAW on 512mb's

Recommended Posts

(Edited alittle...)

THIS is why you don't play GRAW on 512mb's of ram.

(File is ~1mb in WMV format - thank you Windows Movie Maker)

THIS is how the crosshairs are supposed to look like.

Edit:

I should note that the game ran fine other than the xhair sway problem. It did take alittle more time to load, and I did get lag when seeing effects for the first time - but that was expected. The only noticable problem was the xhairs.

Obviously, it's going to take more time for the PC to process alot of information that it had an easy time with before... So...

Just thought I'd mention...

Edit #2:

Video two (added 9/1/06) is on the same exact system - except it has 2gb's of ram rather than 512mb's. System as follows: A64 X2 4200+ / OCZ 2-3-2-5 2x1gb DDR400 / X1900XT 512mb. The "Spare" ram is Kingston DDR333 2x256mb - I don't know the timing on it, but it wasn't impressive considering it is ValueRAM

I'm familiar with this one, from the demo. The pistol becomes the most accurate weapon in the game, if you have insufficient RAM.

Thanks for pointing out the video. Some folks hadn't understood the nature of this animation problem. Now it can be shown to them.

Thanks x 2 ...I was one of those folks - had no idea it was that bad! I don't expect MikSnoopy stays alive long in GRAW :'(
