GReetINgs from Mexico!

Recommended Posts

Hi all

Greetings from Mexico! As many of you know, the entire GRIN team is here on a well deserved vacation right now.

We can't keep ourselves from the local internet cafe though, cause we're quite interested in what you guys think about the demo!

Praise and suggestions for imprevement is always welcome, and the discussions here are mostly very mature and well balanced.

A few quick notes:

If you have problems with the sound (you own weapon is silent, but you can hear everything else) then your sound card is probably set to 5.1 or similar output, while you only have 2 speakers or headphones connected.

The "smooth mouse"-like issue appears if your framerate is too low. You will have to take measures to raise your framerate to solve it - lower your gfx settings or upgrade your computer. Other solutions for the mouse sensivity created issues that were unacceptable.

The "High" texture setting is not available if the game detects that your computer doesn't have what it takes to run it.

I'm glad most of you seem to enjoy the sound! :D

Well, my current pc is garbage, and I knew I had to upgrade for this game. I just want to say that I was able to get into the game and at least move around. Heard some great sounds as well. With that having been said, I cant wait till I am done building my pc. I believe the game will be fantastic, also, everything I have heard from those that matter, and that have pc's that can play it, that they indeed like it. I play mainly mp adv, and am looking forward to the add on tvt and such. Anyways, I have noticed a few people w/ negative responses, I am sure it is due in most part to their pc's not being able to handle it. Also, I am taking note on most of their names, so that I am able to find them playing ingame, at which point I will ask them why they are there, and then point and laugh at them.

Thanks for stopping by while you are on vacation, drink a sol on me, and happy cinco de mayo if you all are there for that.

Hope you're enjoying your time there in Mexico.

Any comments on the AA-issue?

Ok, I'm not going to turn this into a Q&A thread, but I'll comment on this one thing, since so many are whining about it.

AA and deferred lighting (which is used in GRAW) are not compatible. It's a limitation of PC hardware, not the game.

Have fun...thanks for all the hard work....but I do have a gripe that I guess would be more well put on UBI than GRIN.

I just put together a new system..with GRAW the catalyst for the build.

I bought the ASUS 7900GTTOP 256MB.....only to find out that I will not be able to run with game settings on HIGH because my system cant handle it?

ASUS A8N32 Deluxe MB

ASUS 7900GTTOP 256 Vid

2 GB RAM

Fatal1ty X-FI sound card

550W PSU

Its been said you need 512 vid to run on high? Is this true? and if so...this is really the kind of thing that probably should have been disclosed months ago....I know GRIN can only say what they are allowed to say.....

but this game has already cost me about $1500....It would have been good to know I needed the 512

Do I understand you then to say that there is no way to choose AA over the deferred lighting? Does this mean that there is no AA possible in GR:AW at all?

Thank you for ansering.

I'd love to see a ptach where the deferred lighting can be turned off and AA choosable.
