The bullet smoke at the end when your man is by the car before it gets hit ... trails flying through the car and past his head looks poor.

Everything else looks realy good & very effective. The usual PC haunts like diamonds and the bullet smoke trails are still cringable though ... alas this is xbox and xbox thread so on that basis ... either way it looks realy good.

lets hope so. All those diamonds and colored shapes all over the screen is distracting. I think everybody would prefer to have their eyes discern who's an enemy or not.

oh yea and anybody notice the re-used gun sounds in this game. I hear the sound of Rainbow Six Black Arrow's G36C in there.

The map where the helicopter flies over the city looks off the charts good with all the lightning effects etc, and the sound effects are amazing aswell. They realy need to get rid of the arcady stuff like red diamonds and red text tho.

I must say, when I saw this trailer, it made me even more ecstatic about the game. At first, I was kind of the fence about the diamonds and that stuff, but after watching this, I think I like it a lot now.

How many of you have played Full Spectrum Warrior? I remember when I played, I thought "this whole command system is genius, it makes it so strategic etc.", and then I thought "if they combined this system with a tactical shooter like Ghost Recon 1 (which was already really strategic), it would be my perfect game". Well, watching this video, it appears this is what they've done, so I am very happy, and I am optimistic about that aspect that so many people seem to dislike.

I also saw a LOT of other stuff I loved of course - the graphics, the way the characters move, some of the particle effects (the explosions are pretty damn good looking, I think), the environments, really, there is only one thing I saw I disliked:

Before, although I disliked the smoke trails, I didn't dislike them THAT much. After I watched this, especially with the helicopter machine gun, the smoke trails really bother me. The thing is, the rest of this game looks ridiculously realistic (and we're only seeing it in 320x180), everything looks great. But these just look cheesy. I'll stop though, because I know everyone is sick of hearing the same complaint, even if they agree with it. I just wanted to say that this video makes the trails look worse, IMO.

not necessary at all. Look at [GR] and GRIT for xbox. No Auto-aim and excellent reticule system that simulated accuracy/inaccuracy extremely well. You had to stop and take aim waiting for your pips to close all the way down in order to shoot accurately, which forced players not to run and gun, but rather aim precisely and use single shot or controlled bursts to be effective. IMO this is one of the main reason why these games had so much lasting appeal, cause they were somewhat challenging and based on timing and reflexes rather than auto-aim and spraying. It made you want to get better cause it was challenging and fun. Games with tons of auto-aim and huge reticules that are too forgiving, just don't have the same appeal in respect to multiplayer. just look at the examples recently- Rainbow Six compared to Lockdown, Halo to Halo2, [GR]/GRIT to GR2.

Yeah, you're absolutely right. I mean, in Halo's case, maybe that's more borderline, but CERTAINLY tactical shooters like GR games don't need auto-aim.

Exactly how many people are going to have to complain about the smoke trails from the bullets before the SP development team takes that out of the game?

Also, I agree with other posts that the vehicle explosions do not look as realistic as they should and lean towards arcade.

The automatic weapon fire from the rifles also didn't sound all that great in my opinion. The game seems to be coming along okay, but not great. There is certainly some things they either need to clean up in SP, or they have made the decision to go in a direction where those things are the way they want them to be. So be it, then. Not the direction I would have decided to go in, but then again, I'm not a game developer (or answering to corporate).

In the end, I think they are just making some wrong decisions, whether those are from the development end or corporate end, I don't know.

Does anyone know which team is doing MP co-op? That is what I really like about the GR series. So if that is not like the single player, there is reason to be more optimistic.

I thought the smoke trails from your fire looked stupid too. Frankly I see no improvements that impress me. Modders keep making good improvements for Ghost Recon so why should I move on to Ghost Recon III?

Exactly how many people are going to have to complain about the smoke trails from the bullets before the SP development team takes that out of the game?

The answer to that question is - more people than exist. I don't think a single person has ever voiced that they like the smoke trails (although, if you do, I don't care, I am just saying it's popular opinion so prove me wrong), and many many have voiced they don't like it, so what exactly are they thinking?

You know, I have to say, after I saw the high-def version of this trailer, I was actually kind of disappointed. The graphics in a lot of places simply did not look good. However, as I looked, I first noticed in the beginning of the trailer when it said "Work In Progress Footage", and the more I thought about it, it seems just like a lot of shots it doesn't display the textures full-res, so I am hoping that the poor graphics (in my previous comment, where I said the graphics looked awesome, was before I saw the High-Def version, ironically) can be easily corrected by launch time, or that parts of it were from Xbox or PS2.

Also, I actually disagree about the explosions, I think they look pretty sweet. Definitely could be better, but I definitely think they are among the better in-game explosions.

I think 360 SP has problem on fundamental level; I think that geometry wire frame models are no good (look at the cars, this is no pgr3 but come on); perhaps they underestimated system and went with not enough polygons on basic architecture design. All this hdr light bloom shiny gfx won`t help to mask basic design flaws of the game.
