*RWG*Jackal
Alot of people may have this problem. I had it and Ive had 2 friends call with the same issue. If get the error code 6001 when you try to install do the following. Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files and delete the Install Shield Folder. Dont worry it will re install itself. Make sure you exit your install before you do this or the folder wont delete.
Panic
had to figure this out the other day. one of the folders in C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Professional\RunTime is the problem. iirc it was C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Professional\RunTime\70 (or 72) i just renamed the file and it was ok
Jorrit
First google hit on installshield "-6001" fixed the problem indeed. Typical that the three suggestions on the dialog have no relation to the actual solution btw: this should be an item in the FAQ thread. Please do following: - Close any running programs - Empty your temporary folders - Check your Internet connection (Internet-based Setup) Then try to run the Setup again. Error code: -6001 I've done all that, but it still dosen't work. Help please! deleyt
Check if you've got enough harddisk-space (also your C: drive, eventhough you're putting it onto a different partition). Close any apps running in the background.

Rocky
It's pinned, where it should be obvious. How hard can it be to use the search feature for "6001" ?
c0w80y
I am getting the -6001 error at the installation. I had read the Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Professional\RunTime\ and delete the 0701 folder. fix but I dont have that directory in my Common directory. I also have read Operating System: Windows 2000/XP (only!) statement in the system requirements, and i am running Windows 64 Pro. I guess this might be the problem but I did install and ran the demo fine. OK I found the problem. Go to C:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\InstallShield\Professional\RunTime\ and delete the 0701 folder. My bad.
