  1. u dont need 4gb of ram, i rended mine on high res and 5 passes with my amd 3500 @2.7 and 1gb of ram and it worked just fine I also did it on medium, with 3 passes but the high res 1 gave me better lighting, in medium i had a couple of dark patches on buildings and stuff.
  2. well my GRAW cd is broken. Not shattered but....My cd drive cannot read it nore can any other of my 3 drives read it. If i leave it in there while booting up, my computer wont boot, it will stay at the windows xp logo screen until i take it out. Game wont change the disc, and there is no way in hell im buying another copy, after i spent £35 on this game once already. So i just downloaded it and used nero drive that acts as a virtual cd and it works for me. Sure people can say that its illegal, but i paid for the game already, and the disc is not scratched or anything and yet its broken. Dunno if anyone else has this problems.

  5. this is how i edited my zone.xml file to have the white border around the play area of my map. create a new zone. make the new zone around the play area of your map, i.e. where you want the white border. save the map and exit. go to zone.xml and change <borders tl="-10000 10000 5000" br="10000 -10000 5000"/> to whatever coordinates that zone you just created has. go back to map editor and the white border will be where you wanted it. yes yes, i know that, i said i knew that from my first post, and then said it again. All i want to know is about the domination zones now. Please GRIN just tell me if its possible so i can release my map.

  7. ok thanks for the replies, 1 more question thou, On this image: http://img236.imageshack.us/my.php?image=untitled5gr.jpg I want to be able to make my map, so that to capture a zone you have to stand on the actual buildings instead of any where in the area. However i want it so that when u capture it, i dont want the building zone just to appear captured on the map, i want some of the area surounding it to appear like that to. Is this possible, Thanks
  8. jsut edit the newest worlds.xml, and it will be removed from the ditor, you still have to render the map again.

First: How do i get the mini map to show the zones and the whole map properley? second: When i render it, whats the difference between high, medium, low and draft, and also what are the passes? third: Is there any other way to edit the white zone box with the 2 spheres on, apart from in the zones.xml, cause that takes ages! Please if someone can answer these before i render my map.

  11. well i just been making a v2 of my map since the first didnt work. So i get this problem, i played around with the sky, and it was ok again. So the problem seems to be with the lighting come from the sky setting the post effects.

  13. yes i am having this crash to desktop thing, i have tried almost everything i can think of. Also i think u have to make the view u want to see before u export it, thats what it seems to me anyway

  15. the problem cud be that u might have used a different set then the 1 that u originally picked, e.g. u picked industrial but used historical. If thats not the case then i cant quiet help u there, maybe try exporting it again, try on draft detail to save some time to test it. Good Luck
  16. ye i had this, but in the end i got it down, just move ur view to near enuf ground lvl and keep the postitioning cursor near u and when it comes dont leave it in the air for to long u will have like 2 seconds and just put it down then rotate it.
  17. Ok, I finished my first attempt at it, added the spawn dummies and domination zones. But i extracted the map and tried to run it, but it will just crash to desktop after i click start in base A, wait 5 seconds to spawn then it will just go to desktop. Any ideas? maybe there is some sort of debug option? cheers
  18. thanks for your support I will add different lengths to trees, didnt think of that instead of adding different trees. If you mean undergrowth like grass, then i will have to wait and see, cause i assume that there might be some bad fps already.   20. Today i started work on a map that takes place in the forest/woods. I think its going ok, but im just gonna be a little worried about what fps people will be getting with it.   22. hmm im getting a error when i go to run it, am i missing something? it says "The application failed to initialze properly"
  23. I agree, but i think instead of people making the same threads over and over again, we should have a sticky at the top of the page with a list of bugs that need to be addressed. Then people wont keep making the same threads over and over, i.e AA, and then people can post the bugs in the sticky, this way, GRIN can see it. Also a sticky with what everyone wants to see in a future patch.
  24. well first, anti cheat, you will never find it released at the same time as the game is released. GRIN are developing there own anti cheat, so i think you will find it will be better then punkbuster, since they know more about the game, engine, more then anyone else. Im also pretty sure we will see replays as soon as we get the anti cheat, which i hope we will see in june.
  25. thats a very nice setup you got there tbh , u can get those gt's to 1700mhz mem if not higher, and about 700mhz on core, that would get you some nice frame rates with everything on high
