WhiteKnight77
Very interesting. The first one looks more like an intro movie while the second looks like the end movie if you let the terrorist get away. What game is this to?
Hatchetforce
Very interesting. The first one looks more like an intro movie while the second looks like the end movie if you let the terrorist get away. What game is this to? ← It is Shadow Ops Red Mercury. Not a realistic game, but rather an action game made in the tradition of Jerry Bruckheimer. I have it for PC and Xbox. A good game with a few flaws. And those are actually the first 2 scenes. Now you get to go back and stop what you just saw.
WhiteKnight77
Ah, you get to go in and stop that explosion. Pretty cool idea in game to show the end result if you mess up during the game.

WhiteKnight77
The team leader looks like Dr. House (though he doesn't sound like him). Interesting looking game and storyline.
Sup
I watched the first one. I don't much like the voice acting or animation. I 'dunno, but there are a lot of other games that I feel did cutscenes much better.
Rocky
Thanks HF, you really got me interested now. Photorealistic characters with facial animation and motion captured body animations performed by real members of elite special forces teams ... Sound effects provided by Soundelux, the state-of-the art Hollywood sound effects studio that worked on films including Black Hawk Down, Charlie's Angels 2 and Kill Bill Amazon.co.uk I was kinda hoping it would be cheaper than that, this is a 2004 release isn't it? Result! I just got it brand new off ebay for £6. Ah, the special edition has a soundtrack disk... LOS ANGELES - October 8th, 2004 – Known for his epic and ambitious scores for games, composer Inon Zur (www.inonzur.com) today announced his original music soundtrack for SHADOW OPS: RED MERCURYTM, the blockbuster action shooter developed by Zombie Studios and published by Atari, will be available on CD with the Special Edition release of the game in Europe. Composed and conducted by Zur, the SHADOW OPS: RED MERCURY soundtrack features more than an hour of rousing live orchestral music that reacts to the player's actions and changes for each location. Still, that's a pricey game tat £26 off Amazon for it's age - must be pretty popular still. Edited January 2, 2006 by Rocky

I 'dunno, but there are a lot of other games that I feel did cutscenes much better. ← The game has a few flaws, but the sound isn't one of them. They won a THX award. The game also has a 64 bit install if you have the original. And the story line was written by two Hollywood script writers. It is a movie that you game. As you begin to move forward the way bends right and around. Always be near cover. And you are right, those RPGs have no mercy.

Rocky
I got the game, installed smooth as silk, and played no sweat first time. Quite enjoying it, need to keep going and get deeper to see more cut scenes though....
GothicSnake
I'd say the Metal Gear series is the way cutscenes are supposed to be. Definitely the most film-like and engrossing games ever made, IMO.

Rocky
Well, it looks like it is little over a month since I got this game, but today I spent a while on it and cleared a few levels. I'm really enjoying it! As HF said it's not perfect , but it's not worth labouring over the one issue I found, when the rest is so much fun! Each level so far has been unique, the jungle level was awesome with the claustraphobic jungle canopy being split by sun beams, and the shadows of the tress cast on the floor of the jungle. The pace here was very fast, and you had two guys as backup. The next level was based in Russia, in the snow, at night. Very different scenes, but equally beautiful. This time I was alone, with the sniper rifle as the weapon of choice, carefully picking out targets with head shots before advancing and destroying the radios. The bonus (as usual) with these games from 2004/2005, is that they run on all high graphics settings and still give 40-60 FPS on a FX series graphics card, RESULT! Each level is linked by enjoyable cut scenes. Here's some SS I took during the snow level. Me likey. This guy is shivering from the cold, unlucky for him, I spotted his breath condensing in the air... Your character. And a couple of pituresque scenes. If a train wreck can be called that! Rocky
Oh, and one more very cool thing that I just noticed (game dev teams take notice), From clicking the desktop icon, I can be ingame playing the first mission, in under 15 seconds. Kewl.
Rocky
And one other cool thing! I just noticed it doesn't require the CD to be in the drive to play, unless it accepts Dora the Explorer as a substitute!

Rocky
And that bottom screen looks well cool. ← The levels get bigger and bigger too, and the game engine handles them great. I'm in this huge multi level factory now, I'll probably still be in it next week, as it keeps beating me (no quick saves in this game).
