We had a couple of brave Flash entries that would see its run for the money against the design stylings of the likes of Snake@War and Prozac ... both extremely well executed entries ... but in the end, attractive design combined with the power of Flash would prove to prevail GDC VIII ... Congratulations, BornToKill!! Thus ends GDC VIII!! BTK, you shall be bestowed the honors and privileges of GR.net Supporter meaning access too all manner of coolio thingamajiggies on this site as well as free drinks on ZJJ!! How stoked are you?! There was no speed score in GDC VIII since it was discussed long before the contest opener ... we will be keeping this next GDC on the QT ... but know this, that Velocity will be of the essence!! "Entrants must submit just one banner meant to encapsulate the essence of badass that is Ghost Recon' that was the idea/theme. It seems everyone used almost the same idea, layout / concept... (GRAW) GRAW Scott Mitchel on the right/mexico city street background. Lack of originality from other entries IMO, No offence to anyone but just looking back at this GDC. Which is why at a minimum, ZJJ and I were egging people on to at least change up the verbiage. I will say GooseDaddy came out with his trademark East-Asian vibe which was interesting. What would I have done? Maybe something along the lines of a "generations" theme going from a sepia tone OG GR to a hi-tech, render / wiremesh of a GRAW character. Who knows ...
