bigcat75
I know it means original GR in regards to GR1, but how does "[GR]" apply when refering to GRAW maps?
ARUJackal
[GR] cooperative. Human player clearing AI filled maps. Different to campaign cooperative in that more than 4 human players can play at once. Edited January 5, 2008 by ARUJackal
bigcat75
Thanks, that's what I figured but I don't understand why the [GR] acronym is used. Seems to me it would take more than that to warrant the label "[GR]". But no matter, I know what it means now, that's good enough. Just something I've been curious about for a long time. Buehgler_AS
Back when GRAW was being built/patched, members of the production and development companies noticed that there were lots of fans asking for the "[Ghost Recon]" cooperative game types. In response they produced what they called the "[GR]" gametype. In GRAW this was little more than a (IMO) marginal implementation of the "firefight" and "recon" gametypes from GR. I never bothered with GRAW2, so I have no clue what they ended up with there.
Lightspeed
yeh i didnt like the use of [GR] to make such a generalisation. [GR] was/is so much more then coop firefight.

squad_e
I always thought it to be, [Ghost Recon]. Or aka the Old Skool Ghost Recon.
KRP 56
Good luck with that. It would take more than luck for that to happen.
WytchDokta
Everybody knows that Ubi misread [GR] as OGRe. Even if you drop the 'e' (second letter of the word 'Recon'), the spoken form of the acronym would still sound like 'ogre' Edited January 5, 2008 by WytchDokta
thales100
OGRe, is it so ugly ?
WytchDokta
They gave you your OGRe back twice, but they never gave you your [GR] back. Edited January 6, 2008 by WytchDokta
NoQuarter
Replying to What is "[GR]" In relation to :AW*? An exericise in deceptive advertising on Ubis' part, and a veiled attempt at feature masking on GRINs'.
Peace
I know it means original GR in regards to GR1, but how does "[GR]" apply when refering to GRAW maps? Much that once was is lost, for none now live who remember it. History became legend, legend became myth. It became a fireside-story... a favorite character of legend and lived on long after all the true events were forgotten...
