  1. If you can't find the problem, eliminate the things that do work. The problem will become more transparent. Looking at your image: the spotlight works because I can see light hitting one side of the lamppost. So the light works fine. It doesn't render the light on the ground, so that's where your problem is. Couple things can be wrong: --- The light is just not hitting the groundplane. ANSWER - extend your spotlight's beam so it goes through the groundplane, rather then just touching it. --- The groundplane hasn't got enough vertices for the light to collect. ANSWER - create more vertices around the area where the lights is presumed to hit. Do a subdivision. --- You've got your groundplane-settings wrong. ANSWER - Check and doublecheck that the ground is set as "floor" and it has all other settings correct. --- Another option is that the materials aren't set up right, or more precise, the lightmap isn't working right because of faulty materialdefinitions (like composite materails). ANSWER - Read and re-read the PDF Levelbuilder about how to set up your map with a composite material (base and detailtexture). Also do a search on this forum for more information about composite materials. This subject has been explained many times.
  2. Merry Christmas to all. For all the dutch out there: Fijne kerstdagen en een gelukkig nieuwjaar.
  3. Watched "Perfume: The Story of a Murderer" last night. Kept me on the tip of my seat start to finish. Good film.
  4. I love Bladrunner aswell. Great movie, story and soundtracks. Some years ago I bought a VHS-tape of Blade Runner but soon after DVD's became the norm. I definitly will buy a DVD version again, HD prefferably. But since the movie is shot with 1982 quality equipment, I wonder how the HD version could actually be of better quality?
  5. you don't even have the courtesy to reply, don't ask the question.

  7. ...rumored by the public.... Gamespot says he got fired due to a long ongoing dispute with an editorial manager. I don't know what the truth is, but I do know that big software companies have major influence on magazines due to the money their advertising brings in....and as such, their integrity (and judgement) is questionable.
  8. Can't help you on the link, but here's how it's done: Load your image in Photoshop. Make sure the "Layers" toolbar is open. If not hit the "F7" key to open it. Within the "layers" toolbar select the "Channel" tab. Find the "create a new channel" button (it looks like a piece of paper with it's left bottom corner folded) and click it. You're alpha-channel will be created and it's called "Alpha 1". Now start painting white, black and greys on that channel. White will represent parts of the image that are transparent, blacks will be opaque. Greytones in between will gradient between transparant and opaque. Example: RGB128,128,128 will be 50% opaque, 50% transparant. Etc.... Good luck BTW: you still have to export it as an .rsb with the plugin ofcourse.
  9. GR uses so called billboards for it's explosions. They are just simple 2D planes with a sequence of textures on them. You can find those textures in the GR-folder and should be possible to replace (as they are just regular .rsb image files). Keep in mind that one of the images holds the animation-sequence and the names should be kept intactth (I think). If you have the right animation-sequence (and amount) it shouldn't be too hard to replace the explosion.

    Spam

That would be my best guess aswell. Most of the people he spammed seem to be people that frequently visit the board, or at least I see in the log whenever I'm online. Maybe he used the "Last Click" log?
  11. Thom Yorke - Analyse First time I heard this I couldn't stop listening to it and played it over and over. Great song, amazing performance.....this live-version is actually better than the one on the album, Thom Yorke - The Eraser, or at least that's how I feel. Analyse this!
  12. Happy Birthday mate. Have a great day!
  13. Could you post some screenshots aswell? Thanks!
  14. Clockwise for me. My girlfriend see her rotating counterclockwise. If I look at the picture in the corner of my eye, she turns and rotates counterclockwise. Weird test.
  15. Happy Birthday SuicideCommando and CommandoCrazy!
  16. Looks really good! Good luck with your project.
  17. Awesome trailer! Has this "spiderman" look and feel although the town is in pieces. The levels look amazing and the soundtrack brings out this "comicbook"-feel to it, which is the exactly the genre it should be placed in. I have my doubts about replayability though, unless you like going on forever and ever trying to break your own highscore. Great catch Grin.
  18. Happy Birthday UT!! Shame you vaporised my account on the SRS forum
  19. Indeed there is. Actually most people seem to like it. I guess you didn't. Still, I enjoy it as it reminded me of the old days (C64/Atari/Amiga).
  20. Strange no one ever mentioned that there's a nice old school chiptune during installing a patch. Being an old fart myself, I surely appreciate this. Was that you Desmond? Any chance you got more? [Merged with the existing thread where that is indeed discussed (see post #16 onwards)]
