magnumkp
The following lyrics that I will post carry a 16 warning due to the emotional involvement, please do not read them if you are easily upset. I first heard this ballad when I was about 12, perhaps I was too young then to fully understand, but it is still a song that when I hear it causes the hairs on the back of my neck to stand on end. Anyway here it is: You could hear the hoof beats pound as they raced across the ground, And the clatter of the wheels as they spun 'round and 'round. And he galloped into market street, his badge upon his chest, His name was Ernie, and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west. Now Ernie loved a widow, a lady known as Sue, She lived all alone in Liddley Lane at number 22. They said she was too good for him, she was haughty, proud and chic, But Ernie got his cocoa there three times every week. They called him Ernie, (Ernie), and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west. She said she'd like to bathe in milk, he said, "All right, sweetheart," And when he'd finished work one night he loaded up his cart. He said, "D'you want it pasturized? 'Cause pasturized is best," She says, "Ernie, I'll be happy if it comes up to my chest." That tickled old Ernie, (Ernie), and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west. Now Ernie had a rival, an evil-looking man, Called Two-Ton Ted from Teddington and he drove the baker's van. He tempted her with his treacle tarts and his tasty wholemeal bread, And when she seen the size of his hot meat pies it very near turned her head. She nearly swooned at his macaroon and he said, "If you treat me right, You'll have hot rolls every morning and crumpets every night." He knew once she sampled his layer cake he'd have his wicked way, And all Ernie had to offer was a pint of milk a day. Poor Ernie, (Ernie), and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west. One lunch time Ted saw Ernie's horse and cart outside her door, It drove him mad to find it was still there at half past four. And as he lept down from his van hot blood through his veins did course, And he went across to Ernie's cart and didn't half kick his 'orse. Whose name was Trigger, (Trigger), and he pulled the fastest milk cart in the west. Now Ernie rushed out into the street, his gold top in his hand, He said, "If you wanna marry Susie you'll fight for her like a man." "Oh why don't we play cards for her?" he sneeringly replied, "And just to make it interesting we'll have a shilling on the side." Now Ernie dragged him from his van and beneath the blazing sun, They stood there face to face, and Ted went for his bun. But Ernie was too quick, things didn't go the way Ted planned, And a strawberry-flavoured yogurt sent it spinning from his hand. Now Susie ran between them and tried to keep them apart, As Ernie, he pushed her aside and a rock cake caught him underneath his heart. And he looked up in pained surprise and the concrete hardened crust, Of a stale pork pie caught him in the eye and Ernie bit the dust. Poor Ernie, (Ernie), and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west. Ernie was only 52, he didn't wanna die, And now he's gone to make deliveries in that milk round in the sky. Where the customers are angels and ferocious dogs are banned, And the milkman's life is full of fun in that fairy, dairy land. But a woman's needs are many fold and Sue, she married Ted, But strange things happened on their wedding night as they lay in their bed. Was that the trees a-rustling? Or the hinges of the gate? Or Ernie's ghostly gold tops a-rattling in their crate? They won't forget Ernie, (Ernie), and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west. Syncopator
THE GREATEST HOUSE TRACK OF ALL HISTORY Mr Fingers... In the beginning, there was Jack, and Jack had a groove. And from this groove came the groove of all grooves. And while one day viciously throwing down on his box, Jack boldy declared, "Let there be house!" and house music was born. I am, you see, I am the creator, and this is my house! And, in my house there is only house music. But, I am not so selfish because once you enter my house it then becomes OUR house and OUR house music!" And, you see, no one can own house because house music is a universal language, spoken and understood by all. You see, house is a feeling that no one can understand really unless you're deep into the vibe of house. House is an uncontrollable desire to jack your body. And, as I told you before, this is our house and our house music. And in every house, you understand, there is a keeper. And, in this house, the keeper is Jack. Now some of you who might wonder. Who is Jack, and what is it that Jack does? Jack is the one who gives you the power to jack your body! Jack is the one who gives you the power to do the snake. Jack is the one who gives you the key to the wiggly worm. Jack is the one who learns you how to walk your body. Jack is the one that can bring nations and nations of all Jackers together under one house. You may be black, you may be white; you may be Jew or Gentile. It don't make a difference in our House. And this is fresh! HOMAGE. :punk:
Punjab
A little TOOL, anyone? Black then white are all i see in my infancy. red and yellow then came to be, reaching out to me. lets me see. as below, so above and beyond, I imagine drawn beyond the lines of reason. Push the envelope. Watch it bend. Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind. Withering my intuition, missing opportunities and I must Feed my will to feel my moment drawing way outside the lines. Black then white are all i see in my infancy. red and yellow then came to be, reaching out to me. lets me see there is so much more and beckons me to look thru to these infinite possibilities. as below, so above and beyond, I imagine drawn outside the lines of reason. Push the envelope. Watch it bend. over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind. Withering my intuition leaving opportunities behind. Feed my will to feel this moment urging me to cross the line. Reaching out to embrace the random. Reaching out to embrace whatever may come. I embrace my desire to I embrace my desire to feel the rhythm, to feel connected enough to step aside and weep like a widow to feel inspired to fathom the power, to witness the beauty, to bathe in the fountain, to swing on the spiral to swing on the spiral to swing on the spiral of our divinity and still be a human. With my feet upon the ground I move myeslf between the sounds and open wide to suck it in. I feel it move across my skin. I'm reaching up and reaching out. I'm reaching for the random or what ever will bewilder me. what ever will bewilder me. And following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been. We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been. Spiral out. Keep going.

2nd Ranger
You get a shiver in the dark, It's a-rainin' in the park, But meantime... South of the river You stop and you hold Everything. A Band is blowin' Dixie, Double four-time. You feel alright, When you hear the music ring. Well now you step inside, But you don't see too many faces Comin' in outta the rain to hear The Jazz go down. Competition in other places. But the horns... They're blowin' that sound. Way on down south... Way on down south London Town. Check out guitar George. He knows all the chords, But it's strictly rhythm, he doesn't Wanna make it cry or sing. They say an old guitar is all He can afford, When he gets up under the lights To play his thing. But Harry doesn't mind, if he doesn't Make the scene; He's got a daytime job, he's doin' alright. He can play the Honky-Tonk like anything, Savin' it up... Friday night. With the Sultans... With the Sultans of Swing. And a crowd of young boys, They're foolin' around in the corner, Drunk and dressed in their Best brown baggies and platform soles. They don't give a damn about any Trumpet-playing band, it ain't What they call Rock and Roll. And the Sultans, yeah the Sultans, They play Creole. Creole, baby. And the man, he steps right up to the microphone And says the last, just as the time bell rings; "Goodnight, now it's time to go home" But he makes it fast with one more thing: "We are the Sultans", "We are the Sultans of Swing". -Dire Straits, Sultans of Swing. magnumkp
With the Sultans... With the Sultans of Swing. Man, there is a blast from my past. I was reading the lyrics thinking "I know this, I do, I know this" but it was until I got to that line that I realised. I was captain of a softball team in high school called the sultans of swing. We sucked. Also my new favourite track of all time (as of yesterday) has to be this, the lips aren't great on lyrics (if you have ever heard yoshimi battles the pink robots you'll know what I mean), but this one works out very nicely: Do You Realize - that you have the most beautiful face Do You Realize - we're floating in space - Do You Realize - that happiness makes you cry Do You Realize - that everyone you know someday will die And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know You realize that life goes fast It's hard to make the good things last You realize the sun doesn't go down It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round Flaming Lips - Do You Realize

Piccolo
Blind Willie Johnson - Motherless Children (Circa 1928): Well, well, well, ah A motherless children have a hard time Motherless children have a hard time, mother's dead They'll not have anywhere to go, wanderin' around from door to door Have a hard time Nobody on earth can take a mother's place when, when mother is dead, Lord Nobody on earth takes mother's place when, mother's dead Nobody on earth takes mother's place, when you were startin', paved the way Nobody treats you like mother will when Your wife or husband may be good to you, when mother is dead, Lord They'll be good to you, mother's dead A wife or a husband may be good to you, but, better than nothing has proved untrue Nobody treats you like mother will when, when mother is dead, Lord Lord, Lord, Lord Yeah, well, ah Well, some people say that sister will do, when mother is dead That sister will do when mother's dead Some people say that sister will do, but, as soon as she's married, she turn her back on you Nobody treats you like mother will And father will do the best he can, when mother is dead, Lord Well, the best he can when mother is dead Father will do the best he can, so many things a father can't understand Nobody treats you like mother will A motherless children have a hard time, when mother is dead, Lord Motherless children have a hard time, mother's dead They'll not have anywhere to go, Wanderin' around from door to door Have a hard time ---- These lyrics do not even begin to do this song, or Blind Willie himself, justice. I suggest any of you to look this man up; who is often hailed as the greatest gospel slide guitarist.

Havok
There's a guy in the place He's got a bittersweet face And he goes by the name of Ebeneezer Goode His friends call him Eezer and he is the main geezer And he'll vibe about the place Like no other man could He's refined, sublime, he makes you feel fine Though very much maligned and misunderstood But if you know Eezer he's a real crowd pleaser He's ever so good, he's Ebeneezer Goode You can see that he's mysterious, Mischievious and devious As he circulates amongst the people in the place But once you know he's fun And something of a genius He gives a grin that grows around From face to face to face Backwards and then forwards, Forwards and then backwards Eezer is the geezer who loves to muscle in That's about the time the crowd All shout the name of Eezer As he's kotcheled in the corner, Laughing by the bass bin Eezer Goode, Eezer Goode He's Ebeneezer Goode Has anybody got any veras? Lovely Ya ha ha ha ha ha Ya ha ha ha ha ha A great philosopher once wrote "Naughty naughty very naughty" Ha ha ha ha ha Ebeneezer Goode, leading light of the scene Know what I mean - see He created the vibe, He takes you for a ride and as if by design The party ignites like he's comin alive He takes you to the top, shakes you all around Then back down, you know as he gets mellow Then as smooth as the groove That is making you move He glides into your mind with a sunny "Hello!" A gentleman of leisure, He's there for your pleasure But go easy on old Eezer He's the love you could lose Extraordinary fellow, like Mr. Punchinello He's the kind of geezer who must never be abused When you're in town and Ebeneezer is around You can sense a presence In the sound of the crowd He gets them all at it, the party starts rocking The people get excited it's time to shout loud Eezer Goode, Eezer Goode He's Ebeneezer Goode Ya ha ha ha Ya ha ha ha Ha ha ha ha Ha ha ha ha Wicked Eezer Goode, Eezer Goode He's Ebeneezer Goode Ebeneezer Goode by The Shamen
