wombat50
Looks like a submarine launched ballistic missile to me. Not a good enough pic to say what type. Countries that have them and example: US: Trident D5 UK: Trident D5 Russian: R-29 Chinese: JL-2 French: M45

WhiteKnight77
I did look at the picture. A meteor could look like it is arising out of the bay if it happened to enter the atmosphere where one sees the sky meet the water. Think of the sun or the moon rising in the east. Halli~SPARTA~
One thing to take into account is that Norad covers US and Canada so tests could be done over that area as there have been quite a few lately probably due to Iran. It could have been a Defensive missle rather than an Offensive but Im sure They will say it was a Meteor.
NoQuarter
Some are trying to pin it on the French...Navy, tracking an additional launch of their new M51 out of St-Pierre-Miquelon, but as that grainy picture suggests multiple booster rockets -with no solid propellant plume- safe to say this was not an SLBM test. Locals are reporting that there were three -not just one- objects sighted, what I have'nt seen reported is if it/they were headed inland or out to sea...for all that that matters. ____ Unrelated. There was a publicised unsuccessful USAF intercept test on the US west coast that week.
