Rocky
Name: Australian Defence Forces V3 Type: Weapons/Skins Developer: AUS_Viper (although he credits others that contributed) Download Size: 31.2 MB Introduction "Replaces all US soldiers with ADF soldiers, adds 12 new specialists, replaces all Georgian Rebels with Indonesian Militia, all Russian troops with Indonesian soldiers, the enemy forces all now use appropriate weapons, and replaces the US peacekeepers with AUS Interfet troops." Highs Brilliant Uniforms - I was especially impressed with the TAG and the SASR CMDR... Awesome Weapons - That sniper rifle looks unbelievable... Great selection and models... Cool Splash Screens, Bad Guys have new appearance/weapons, Auto Installer. Some high quality material here. Lows Well, they are hard to find...let me try...Sniper doesnt have a ghillie suit...I did use the shotgun and it appeared "not" to cause any damage...I tested it at different ranges and targeted different "areas" of the body...still didnt seem to hurt the bad guys...not really a lot to complain about with this one. Oh...here is one...the file size is pretty big...so dial up'ers may have a hard time downloading it... Conclusion If you want a refreshing new weapons/skins mod...this one is definitely worth checking out. It was a breeze to install with its autoinstaller, the uniforms are sharp and crisp, plenty of weapons to choose from...this is an excellent product. The worse thing about this one is figuring out which weapon to carry...(don't worry...there arent so many that you wont be able to make up your mind though) -------------- Xian Saint Staff GhostRecon.net | AGR-S "A warrior prays for peace, but trains for war." OK, OK, so I'm an Aussie and bit biased Still a top mod whatever way you look at it, and I believe there may be an Indonesian campaign in the works. Aus_viper? Giampi
Yes, I confirm that Aus Viper is working on a campaign. Give a look at his homepage: http://www.users.bigpond.com/ajbenke/index.htm I was impressed too by the nice skins and very good weapons. Really worthy to download it even if I prefer campaigns
AUS_Viper
No coincedence that you two guys posted here so soon I can confirm that there is a new campaign MOD in progress based on the ADF's role in the INTERFET action in East Timor. The title of the mod is Operation Stabilise (as was the title of the mission). This MOD is going for realism, so wherever possible the actual missions will be based on the events that took place during this action. To "liven" it up a bit though, the latter stages of the campaign will see our Aussie boys mixing it up with the Indonesian TNI and Indonesian Kopassus special Forces. Here's a few features of this MOD in progress: - All the Ghost Recon US troops have been replaced with Australian Defence Force personnel. Base four classes modelled on the AUS SASR. - Introduction of all new enemies (Pro-Jakarta Militia, TNI soldiers and TNI Kopassus Special Forces) - 12 new specialists that have skills and weaponry specific to the next campaign mission. Some specialists are from other Allied forces (ie NZSAS, Singapore, British Ghurkha's, etc) - A lot more appropriate NPC's (non player characters). For example, RAN CDT team, 2RAR soldiers, etc. - All new loading and splash screens - An authentic Australian M113A1 LRV (light reconnaissance vehicle) complete with the Australian modified T50 turret may also be added. - All weapon load outs specific to the character's origin. (enemies, NPC's and Allied). For example, SASR use the M4 / 203, 2RAR use the Austeyr, British Ghurkha's use the SA80, Militia use whatever they can - Modified actor files to closer represent the demographical composition of the ADF. Also you may recognise a few of the Aussie names. - Brand new 12 mission campaign using maps from IT and GR. Although the majority is based on IT maps due to the environments similarity to East Timor Anyway, as Giwex mentioned, check my site for a bit more info. BTW - the opening comment was made because the first two posters are my two mission beta testers Cheers.

Streinger
Like I said once before, this is a great mod..IMHO uderrated. What this mod realy needs are some custom missions (or a whole campaign). I'm glad to see that it is on it's way...any ETA?
xG5kdo
Well, as much as I find this discussion amusing...... I, for one, would like to see a TNI campaign..hahahahahahahaha. Conman
I've played the ADF 2 and 3 mods, and I must say that they are truly great fun. On the subject of Op Stabilise, if you don't know, I have recently been enlisted (well, I asked, actually ) by Viper to help out with a few of the briefings, and just various stuff. BTW, Viper, some free advertising in my sig
AUS_Viper
@Streiger - no ETA yet. We are past initial R&D and are now onto the mission scripting, but still a Loooonnnng way to go @xG5kdo - LOL. The TNI campaign you would like is a bit like Jack57's Band of Brothers. I guess you can still play as the TNI in Multiplayer in ADF V3.1. Re Kopussus, I'll IM you. @Conman - Like the free plug. Thanks.

Sgt.Crocodile
I just finished Dl the ADF 1.3 and tested it to the limit. I gotta say: " I am AMAZED!" Wonderful skins, specially the enemies (if you are tired to kill Georgians, Russians, African or Nazis). I particullary like the F88 Austeyr. It has an excellent zoom and its deadly accurate. In the Specialist section, i just got crazy about the sniper kit 3 (SDR1 + MP7) and the amazing MI34 Minigun. Boy......that can blow an entire patrol in a blink os an eye. Its not an acurate weapon, but its hellish firepower makes the compensation. Unffortunatelly i could not see the tank killer in the soldiers back, but its a misdemeanor compared to the advantages. Excellent Mod..........AUS Viper you did a great work!!! 99/
AUS_Viper
Thanks for the kind words croc. Glad you enjoyed it so much. Hat's off to Nishi for the M134 and F88. Credit where credit is due. If you liked the skins, you should stop over at my site some day to see the progress of my next big venture - Operation Stabilise (total conversion MOD). BTW - not seeing the tank killer thing. I'm not sure what you mean.
Sgt.Crocodile
I was writing about weapons like the M136 light anti-tank weapon I picked a weapon called "Gustav something ( cant remember right now)" and i could not see it in the soldier's back. But as i said before, its a misdemeanor, compared to the advantages
AUS_Viper
I was writing about weapons like the M136 light anti-tank weapon I picked a weapon called "Gustav something ( cant remember right now)" and i could not see it in the soldier's back. But as i said before, its a misdemeanor, compared to the advantages 84mm Carl Gustaf Anti Tank Weapon. Strange you couldn't see it. I did make this mod before the 1.3 and 1.4 RSE patch, so maybe that has something to do with it.
GRIN_Wolfsong
Some development info from Sweden you: The M2 Carl Gustav Recoiless Anti-Tank Rocket (aka GrG 48) is the pressessor to the Bofors AT-4 (aka PSkott 86 & M136). As seen in the original swedish designation GrG 48, it was made in 1948. When the AT-4 came in the version that is most common in the world today in 1986, the CGR was also made in a new light weight version known as the M3 (aka GrG 86). They usually fire the same types of AT rounds but you can fire a selection of round with the CGR. Like smoke rounds, regular explosive grenades, AP-I and so on. And the CGR can of course be reloaded unlimited times, unlike the AT-4 whihc only has 1 shoot and is then thrown away. That's why a combination of both is still in use worldwide. yeutinh
sounded like RPGs have a real competitor in the international arms market. By the way, great mod that Swedish Forces one man .... PS. Love the reticules, how did you do it ??
GRIN_Wolfsong
Thanx. We are world leading in armor piercing ammo and tank busting. Have been for at least since the late 50's when RBS 56 "BILL" was made with the first guided warhead that targeted the top of the turret was made. Bofors really knows what they are doing, and in teh 90's, they teamed up with SAAB Dynamics to create missiles as well. About the reticules check this topic out on page 2 for a quick description. http://www.ghostrecon.net/forums/index.php...=11&t=557&st=15 Edited February 23, 2003 by Wolfsong
yeutinh
OOH too much troubles, some guys reckon the rets were abit big, but I wonder if you can release a set of rets that is even bigger, especially for the snipers. I know about editing the rsbs to make them bigger, but it's your mod so .... BY the way, is there a way of making the ret change colour as we place them on the enemy, just like the way they changed colour when we placed it on team mate ?? GRIN_Wolfsong
It's in your options, or in MP in the servers options. Try to keep the discussion in here to this topic though and post about these things in the topic for that mod.
SKT
Being an Aussie and a serving member of the Australian Army I like anything Aussie in GR and would encourage it always. My only kinda gripe/bug with the AUS mods is that the Ghosts still speak in American english, no offense to the many many many U.S. guys in the GR community but I just think it would add an extra realism factor to a Aussie mod. Viper, I know everyone is full of advice and bright ideas for mods but aren't real productive themselves so I won't hassle, but, I know it's possible and understand it's quite time consuming but it would add a major touch and I am not sure if it's been done yet ??? The other issue is that you would need someone who could speak Timorese for the Timor based campaign. In conclusion, I would certainly be willing to help out with this one if you decided to give it a go. There, an idea and a willing servant. Otherwise, any Aussies in GR are good Aussies. AUS_Viper
The voice idea is something we played around with and still might do. I don't expect it to be in the first version though, as it will make the mod too damn big to d/l. Maybe put it together as a patch or something. Re - you helping with the voices. Email me and I'll put you name in the "helpers" folder. If we do ever do it, I'll drop you a line. BTW - I have had discussions with an Indonesia who helped with info on the this MOD, so I am sure they would love their voice in the game.
Sgt.Crocodile
The other issue is that you would need someone who could speak Timorese for the Timor based campaign. Theres two main languages spoken in East Timor: Portuguese and Tetum and thats why Brazilian troops were sent there as a part of the INTERFET. They speak the portuguese with Portugal accent.......I can help with that, but i dont have a clue on what Tetum sounds like.
