Rocky
15th Anniversary Ghost Recon Art Competition Original Entry Thread | Competition Page All entries are shown below in no particular order, with judges comments. RESULTS We were extremely impressed with how much effort had gone into each of the entries, from 4000 word fan fiction to carefully cut Wildlands montages, and painstakingly put together game assets. It was also pleasing to see entries cover many of the Ghost Recon series games. In selecting the winners, the effort put into entries was considered, and also the quality of the finished entry. Of course there were no losers here inasmuch as every entry was excellent, there were no weak entries here and we enjoyed them all! However we did have the difficult task and selecting prize winners, so without any further wordage, thank you and congratulations to the following Ghost Recon fans, you are the winners of Ghost Recon Net's 15th Anniversary Art Competition! FIRST PLACE BAM REDFOX - I'M A GHOST When you've finished watching a 1 minute video and you realise it was actually almost 4 minutes long - that's when you know you've been captivated by something very cool. That's how we felt after watching this Wildlands montage from RedFox. We loved the way anticipation was built from the beginning using sweeping shots and the building background music. This video is like a masterpiece on how to select an appropriate track, and then edit the footage to compliment the highs and the lows. Just brilliant. SECOND PLACE Zeealex - Lindy Concept ZeeAlex put an amazing amount of work into her entries, built from the ground up with 3d modelling. This entry of Lindy Cohen for the original Ghost Recon draws from several assets and some really nice work to bring them together as one composition. THIRD PLACE Heycrowe - New Frontier http://heycrowe.tumblr.com/post/151545292349/grw-a-survival-mode-story It was great to have a story entry for this competition, and at almost 4,000 words Heycrowe took this entry seriously. It's a Wildlands story that starts out by introducing the characters before they insert by parachute and prepare for a multi-wave cartel assault. The success of this entry lies in the anticipating it builds for Wildland, we were absolutely primed for play Wildlands after reading this entry - great work. ALL ENTRIES - NO PARTICULAR ORDER #1 Squad_e GR REMIX MP3 Comments: Quote We liked how Squad-e used original Ghost Recon samples to create a story with a beginning, a middle and an end, mixed together with a music backing track. The result is like an audio trip into a Ghost Recon mission, great work. #2 Heycrowe - Hold the Line Comments : Quote This is 3.5 minutes of all action wildlands mayhem with a nicely selected soundtrack from Heycrowe. There's no messing around with the editing of this video, it's all about the action and the clips are nicely put together, nice job! #3 Heycrowe - New Frontier http://heycrowe.tumblr.com/post/151545292349/grw-a-survival-mode-story Comments Quote It was great to have a story entry for this competition, and at almost 4,000 words Heycrowe took this entry seriously. This entry of Lindy Cohen for the original Ghost Recon draws from several assets and some really nice work to bring them together as one composition. #5 Zeealex - Alicia Diaz Marksman Comments: Quote In this entry from ZeeAlex Alicia Diaz from Ghost Recon 2 was remodelled into a dark and moody image perfect for a desktop wallpaper. We really liked the mood this image set, menacing but calm. #6 BAM REDFOX - I'M A GHOST Comments : Quote When you've finished watching a 1 minute video and you realise it was actually almost 4 minutes long, that's when you know you've been captivated by something very cool. #7 PZ3 - ANNIVERSARY MOD Comments : Quote This entry from PZ3 was an almost emotional trip through some familiar Ghost Recon scenes, played as the intro to a prospective new mod for Ghost Recon featuring the new intro movie, new menus, new sounds, new music, and new reticules. We really like the idea of a 15th anniversary mod and the groundwork done here by PZ3 is an awesome start. #8 NIOM ART Comments : Quote In this all action piece of artwork we appreciated how Niom had managed to bring many gameplay elements into one image without making it feel crowded thanks to a nice composition. There are vehicles (land and air), cover, action, environment, and the tension emphasised by a simple outstretched hand. Nicely done. #9 NIOM ART Comments : Quote This is another all action piece of artwork this time emphasising the importance of cover and teamwork. Shrapnel and colours bring this image to life, nice work! #10 LOWLANDERNAM Comments Quote This clever entry from Lowlandernam takes us from GRAW through to Wildlands with an Advanced Warfighter character in the foreground, and the iconic vista of Wildlands in the background. Nice piece of imagination with this entry. #11 BODARK ZULU ART Comments : Quote "No Trace" by Bodark is a moody Wildlands image with some added effects and and additional member, if you look hard enough. We liked what Bodark had done here with clever use of effects and the incorporation of a ghostly new member to the team. #12 BODARK ZULU REAL ME Comments Quote This entry for Bodark bucked the trend of all action Wildland trailers to make a melancholic montage that works really well thanks to the nicely selected soundtrack. We appreciated this change of pace from the norm and enjoyed this entry a lot.
