Couple of questions.

Do you all want me to keep on posting these missions as I get them finished or would it be better to wait until the complete 10 mission campaign is done.

Is there a photoshop template available for making the menu screens.

Thanks for all the help so far.

i'm going to go with what wombat said,

i've tampered with menu screens in the past and they were 1024x512, with the actual image being 640x480 in the top left corner of the image.

and also testing all the missions one by one would be easier as then you can pinpoint errors in that specific mission. rather than have a bundle (hopefully not) of problems relating to different missions.

(by the way I'll happily join in on the mission testing :D)

Ok, thanks for that, I wondered if there was a PSD template like there is for GR:AW2 but I'll do it the way you have mentioned.

Alex, you are more than welcome to test as is everybody here, you just need to go back to my first post and download the mod then look through the posts here for the updates, none of the files are password protected.

For my next mission I will have to re-upload the complete mod again as there has been several changes to the sounds, Tinker told me that my mod was causing conflicts with other mods so I had to rename all the weapon sounds and update all the gun files, I will change the version number in the modscont when ready.

The next mission will be up here soon.

The next mission "04 (C-SP) TC02 Camp Badon" is ready for testing.

I have uploaded the complete mod again as there have been many changes to the original, as mentioned before this mod was causing conflicts with other mods so I hope these are all fixed, modscont has been updated to v1.10

Camp Badon includes random booby trap car bombs.

The car bombs are randomly selected so different ones will be active each time you play the mission, active car bombs will explode and kill you if you are within four metres of them, these can be deactivated if you destroy the vehicle but this can be a waste of ammo if you don't know which ones are active.

I have also included main menu, load icon and the shell screens. Let me know if these are ok.

I hope you enjoy the latest mission, as always I appreciate any feedback on these missions.

All previous links in this thread have been removed, please delete any other versions from your mods directory.

Links in first post.

Had a play through and can't find any faults. Thrilling, roller coaster ride of an explosive, action-packed... you get the idea.

The car bombs are effective. Very nice mission which took awhile.

The main menus and shell_bgd's are nice.

Minor detail: The smoke in the shell_bgd interferes with seeing some of the buttons in options/ game-play and sound tabs.

In the briefing screen it is a nice touch of going to the trouble of placing the command map icons in the correct positions when clicking on the objective buttons.

Thanks John!

Thanks for the replies.

Apex, I'm new to the rsb file-types as I have always used dds files for GR:AW2 and when I used to make skins for rFactor, will changing the textures to "transparency (alpha channel) in 32-bit color depth (A8R8G8B8)" affect anything when playing in windows, so far I have only made the menus for GR and saved them in the default settings using the rsb plugin for photshop.

Thanks for the feedback Wombat, pleased you liked the car bombs, it took me while to sort out the scripting for that but it seems to work ok, I'm sure there is an easier way to do it but that's just down to my lack of experience in Igor.

I'll have another look at the shell_bgd to see if I can find a better image.

Ghosts, it's the Fourth of July, and, being the best of the best, we've been specially tasked to successfully complete Operation Stronghold. Freedom doesn't take days off, Ghosts; let's make 'em proud. Fall out and gear up! Flag patches are approved to be worn on your ACU/BDU's! Huah!

Downloading now. Happy Fourth, everyone. :)

Tip for the Howitzer

plan: combat / supress / destroy target

Leave target empty and it will randomly fire off into the distance, which is really cool.

Overall looking really good so far.

To echo Wombat:

For testing I'd release the missions in this thread one at a time.

This is best, and a chance to pick up on all the other aspects that you are going to need to create a full mod / campaign. Great missions so far, hope to get some feedback soon in coop here.

p.s Don`t listen to Apex. He would be bored if he did not have to clean up after us!

I'm trying to play Mission 1. It says I need a demo specialist equipped with a M136, but none of my demo specialists (or standard soldiers) have a M136 available... I have DS, IT and Operation Stronghold activated and that's it.

No. Well, they'll potentially look better due to the higher color resolution. :)

Ha! I'm far from bored with loads of work on my plate as it is, so pretty please with sugar on top try to be Mac-friendly.

No, there's no need for that on GR Mac. I always try to maintain file names without spaces and special characters, but that's just to be on the safe side, especially since many files need to be referenced in / loaded from XML, which may be invalidated by unescaped special chars. This is not Mac-specific, though.

This is so minor that it's hardly worth posting, yet I think you'd probably enjoy it, regardless of length. I would do more but I have some pressing RL events in the next few days so I'll have to finish it later.

I'm writing my thoughts as I play through your missions; here's the first bit from Mission 1:

Good, I love this map.

Mobile patrol is a nice touch.

Weird, I can see my bravo team firing but I can't hear any sound. They are equipped with Mk17 STD, which fires loudly in first person when I'm in control and firing as team bravo, however.

The Mk17s are desert tan, even though we're in woodland BDUs.

That's it. I like it so far, just will have to have a chance to play more of it. Thanks for the missions. :)

The next mission, 05 (C-SP) TC02 Embassy Force is ready and waiting. :)

The download only contains the files needed for this mission so you will need the full mod if you don't already have it, just decompress the zip in the Operation_Strongpoint folder and overwrite all files, modscont has been updated to v1.20.

As before this mission includes the random car bombs, these work in the same way as the last mission so see that post for more details.

Been spending a bit of time playing around with the sounds so I hope I haven't overdone it.

I would like to thank Blakarion for the use of his ZSU-23-4 "Shilka" SPAA from the BlakOps OpFor Vehicle mod.

Thanks again for all the feedback so far.

Nice mission 1. I'll not give away any spoilers, but it kept me on my toes. Nice placement of enemies, made it a very entertaining and "where the hell is he shooting from" sort of mission. :)

Thanks for testing remix, pleased you liked the mission.

Tinker, I'll add the demo charges to the AA's, sent you a PM about the pilot objective when playing the mission in coop, let me know if that script will work.

Tinker has told me that you all find it easier if all downloads and updates are in the first post.

So to keep things more organised I have updated the first post to include the full mod and latest patches.

I had a play through on 05 (C-SP) TC02 Embassy Force.

Wow! So many ways to fail this mission so a good challenge.

I know you have heard it many times in the GRAW2 forums but real good job of placing the enemies.

As far as I could tell all the triggers work and objectives are updated when completed. The rocket and demo checks work ingame too. After a bit I got to fliching everytime I got close to a potential car bomb. Noticed you had placed some additional sounds on the map and that had me wondering, "###### was that?"

A couple of bugs on my side:

SR 25k makes no weapon sound and the SA58 Bull has no scope texture.

GJ John.
