  1. Been a member of thise for a while now. Used to play Ghost Recon all the time. Purchased GRAW1 and hated it and haven't really been back since other than the odd Ghost Recon game. Just wondering how active the community is in GRAW2 for the PC and whether it is worth picking up, while waiting for Predator? What are everyone's opinions on this version?
  2. Didn't we all just hope that GR:AW was going to be the same as [GR], but with better graphics? Aside from a very small number of issues [GR] still hasn't been matched in terms of playability, expandability and flat out enjoyment. If you gave me everything [GR] had, but with GR:AW graphics, I would never need another game.........
  3. I also struggle playing FPS games on consoles. Again, I am all over the place with the controller. I much prefer the keyboard/mouse combo for these types of games. I think the reason is that with a mouse you can plant the crosshairs exactly where you want them and track a target at whatever speed the target moves at. I find that with the controllers on either my PS2 or 360, I have to make constant adjustments (left tap, right tap, up tap etc) to get the crosshairs where I want them. Then after all that adjustment, the target hasn't had the decency to stand still and has buggered off. Tracking a target with a controller takes time perfect because you don't get the same sensitivity of movement with a controller as you do with a mouse. Also, keyboard shortcuts to different functions are a massive bonus. If any of the console manufacturers supported keyboard/mouse play I know I wouldn't suck as much as I do playing FPS games on a console, which is a source of frustration for me, as I am way better at these games on my PC.
  4. I noticed Serellan browsing this thread at 8am GMT today, but he didn't post....................
  5. Ok, so Graw is improving on the whole with each patch. But, the lack of real ability to kick/ban renders so much of that hard work as useless. I was playing for about an hour on one of the EU Servers last night, but after about 20 minutes, this guy SANFORD turned up, and went just on a TK rampage. He clocked up around 50 or 60 TK's. It doesn't matter how many people told him to leave the server, he just carried on. It got to the point that after each round, fewer and fewer guys were playing, to the point where it just wasn't worth carrying on. This was a well set up, low-ping server made pointless by one idiot and the complete lack of any method for kicking/banning him. Very frustrating.
  6. Surely not another 'GodJoey' debacle?? )
  7. Eeek!! Can of worms alert!!! Search further down for more detail. I think it's just being beta-tested at the moment.
  8. There is a new driver set available now for the X-Fi cards. I know this becasue I only bought my X-Fi Platinum yesterday, and checked the Creative site after install as I do whenever I add new bits to my rig. It's about 40mb.
  9. I've been playing [GR] since it came out. Never done the clan thing. Played COOP with friends for years though. No hangups about race, religion, etc, etc. I just enjoy playing. Would be happy to play, generally evenings.
  10. Blackstar GR1 + Mods (Diemaco all the way!!!!!) 36
  11. Ok, as someone who posted here saying how frustrating this last pat of the level was, I did finally beat it without changing any xml files or cheating it. I had only myself and Allen (the Sniper) left for the whole of this mission. After the Embassy blows, get yourself and Allen up to the first floor. I placed Allen to the right of the staircase, behind the broken concrete as cover. Both stay there until you need to extract the VIP. Now, the way I beat this level was that after dropping the VIP, I didn't return to the Embassy, but ran to the highest level of the monument in the middle of the road, and left Allen where he is. From here, you get to see the tanks as soon at they appear, so you can call in the Apaches before they do much harm. Then, when the extraction chopper lands, and the last wave of bad guys spawn, you are behind most of them, so between you and Allen you can take them out. One last tip, use the sat-map to move Allen closer to the extraction chopper as bait, before you make the mad dash to it, just in case you missed any lurkers. That's how I finally beat it, and it only took me 3 attempts, instead of the 40-odd when I was staying in the Embassy.
  12. Thanks very much for this. So once I've extracted the Mission 3 data to an XML file using Nemon's unbundler, then made the changes, how do I get the changes back into the main bundle file again? Thanks
  13. PeeWee, if you could post details, that would be great. I have the bundle extractor. Thanks
  14. I just want to vent about how unbelievably frustrating the Embassy mission is!!! Sooooooo want a quick-save option!! I can't remember how many times I've seen the embassy blow up now, but it's not even entertaining any more. I can kill all three tanks and the APC's but by the time the extraction chopper lands I'm on my own, and then suddenly another 10 bad guys spawn out of nowhere, even set on Easy. I really like this game, a lot. And I've played GR1 since it came out. I've already destroyed a keyboard in pure frustration, and am getting to the stage where I'm just gonna have to drop this game because it's not good for my health. A quick save option would make this so much simpler, not easier, but simpler. I hate having to go over the same bit over and over again, when it's just the bit at the end I want to focus on. I have limited time to play this game, with having a family and a busy job, and checkpoint saves are turning this into a nightmare.
  15. 1. Quick Saves (Driving me mental!!!) 2. Game over when Team Leader dies in Co-op. 3. Buying weapons in MP (Not an 'Add', but it has to go) 4. A 'Take Cover!' command for the squad.
