firefly2442
I have a Logitech MouseMan Wheel M-BD53 http://www.nix.ru/autocatalog/mouse_logite...useman_bd53.jpg I've had it for probably 8 or 9 years. I really like it but it's starting to die. Windows will make the "da-doop" hardware recognition sound every couple minutes or so and I'll lose mouse functionality until it's re-recognized. Sometimes it will stop working altogether and I'll have to unplug it and plug it back in. I'm very particular about my mouse. I don't want something too small or that has the wrong form factor. However, aren't there better/newer technologies out there for mice? Since I've been out of the loop/market for the last 8 years or so, what's good? Nutlink
Personally I use a RAZER Copperhead and love it. At first it was a pain to get used to, and the ambidextrous design isn't very comfortable at first, but once you get used to it it is wonderful. I've heard good things about the Logitech G5 as well though.
Buehgler_AS
I too was a big user/fan of the MoseMan devices -- very simple and functional. I switched to a Logitech G5 about a year ago and have been very happy. My only complaint is that I find it hard to click the wheel reliably/accurately so I switched to using the thumb button for middle button functionality. I like the size and simplicity, and the adjustable weight thing has turned out to be more functional than I had expected.
Cpl Ledanek
I had an issue with G5 in the beginning and it was bad batch. I'm liking it, but wife hates it for its size & weight, due to her small hand and she can't take a sec to remove the weights. Go to the stores and try its fit. But +1 me on G5 nice mouse for gaming and Photoshop.
ROCO*AFZ*
Razer... Diamondback or copperhead. Both are excellent... Oh and throw in an exact mat. It is well worth it.
GrimeyAK
I've got the G7, which is the wireless version of the G5. It's worked out great for me so far. I think there is a version out now that has two side buttons (Back and Forward, as opposed to just Back on a web browser). The only complaint I have with mine is that it's the earlier G7 version with only one side button.
firefly2442
Thanks for the suggestions. I liked the feel of the G5 more so I just ordered one.

Tinker
G5 installed. Not much to say besides "Awesome!" I like this rack of weights you can adjust. It feels great compared to my previous.
firefly2442
Yeah, I just plugged mine in and it works great. It'll take a few months to get used to it completely but I'm sure it'll be worth it.
Tinker
After a week or 2 with the G5, i have an issue. 3 speed settings for the cursor. Slow, medium and fast i guess. Well, medium is too slow and fast is too fast, is there any way to adjust these settings elsewhere?

I don't have a G5 but try looking in: SetPoint Advanced Game Settings From what I've read, the dpi settings are adjustable.
