  1. Alright, thanks Rocky. I think I'll hold off on buying it for now. I'll just wait until the price drops.
  2. Hey guys, I'm a big fan of CoH and was wondering whether ToV was worth buying now, or waiting until the price drops. It's $30 at the nearest store. I've heard that it doesn't offer too much in terms of content. If I do decide to get the game, how does the installation of ToV work? Will I have to uninstall/reinstall the game like with Opposing Fronts? I took a long break from CoH, but have been playing a lot of Dawn of War 2 3v3 matches with some friends, so I thought I'd play some CoH as well. Turns out that I'm having a little trouble against Easy AI when I went back to play CoH. Either I completely suck now, or the AI got better
  3. After having my current build for over 2 years, I've decided to begin doing a major overhaul. I will be upgrading the major components (processor, mobo, memory, etc.) and re-using some parts from my current rig. The new: AMD Phenom II X3 720 2.8GHz 3 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core Black Processor GIGABYTE GA-MA790FXT-UD5P AM3 DDR3 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Dual Channel Kit Antec Three Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 3 extra Scythe 120mm fans for the case The re-used: OCZ GameXStream 850W PSU Seagate 500GB Hard Drive Samsung DVD Drive EVGA 8800GT 512MB Superclocked Creative SoundBlaster Audigy 4 The parts should be arriving next week, when I have a major lull in schoolwork. I plan to add a new video card over the summer. With the new generation of cards from ATI and Nvidia coming out soon, the prices of current cards will fall a good amount. I was thinking about getting a GTX275 when the prices drop. Do you think it will be a good buy?
  4. I'm getting the game next week probably. Do you guys have any idea if ToV is just an add-on, or will we have to uninstall and reinstall like we did with OF?
  5. I originally posted this in a thread at GameTrailers, but I'll post it here too since you guys play ETW as well. I started a campaign with the Maratha Confederacy a few nights ago and it's been amazing. Once I conquered all of India from the Mughals, I turned to Europe with Great Britain as my ally. Spain and France broke off their alliance and I invaded and captured France. At this point, my people were clamoring for reform and began to go against my government type both at home and in Europe. It would have cost too much to put each rebellion down, so I quelled all of them except for in my home region. I allowed rebellion to take place, sided with the rebels, and overthrew the monarchy to create a republic. Now, all my regions are fairly happy. Soon after I was rebuilding France, Spain offered to give me Lombardy, Florida, New Mexico, and a Caribbean island in exchange for France. I accepted the offer and captured Upper and Lower Louisiana in North America and Alsace-Lorraine in Europe to eliminate France completely. I then proceeded to take a few minor European countries. By this time, Spain had become enemies with most of Europe so I allied myself with nearly all of Spain's enemies. My next goal is to begin a campaign against Spain. I'm also trying to negotiate with the United Provinces (who is an ally) for Ceylon, which is the last territory required for me. So far, they haven't responded much to any of my offers of other land or money (I even offered them 40,000 with some land). But I've still got about half the century to go, so I've got some time. Maybe they'll consider trading regions when I conquer Spain and its territories.
  6. Religion is still there, though I don't know how different it is when compared to the older games since I've never played them. You still have to take religion into account when dealing with civil unrest. Especially if you've just conquered new territory.
  7. The more I play it, the more I love this game. I've already had a very successful campaign with Prussia. I conquered the northern half of Europe in 50 years, minus Sweden, Norway, and Great Britain. I started on a new campaign last night with the Maratha Confederacy. I've taken over nearly all of India and am closing in on the last few remaining Mughal states with 3 armies. @WytchDokta: You conquer the map by capturing a region's capital city. Attacking or capturing other cities/farms/etc. will only damage the region's infrastructure. @custard: The only Agents you have in Empire are Rakes(Assassins), Gentlemen(Scholars), and Missionaries. Rakes can be used to assassinate, sabotage, or infiltrate and their chance of success is determined by their skill (number of stars on their character). Using rakes is looked down upon so if he is caught, you may have to face some consequences. The Gentlemen are used primarily for research. Place them in schools or universities to speed up research time. They are also the only way to "legally" kill other agents by dueling them. They can also go to universities of different nations and try to steal their technology. Again, chances of success are based on skill. Missionaries are primarily used to bring your religion to another state. I usually use them to help quell discontent within a region. All three types cannot be bought like regular units. When certain building types are constructed, they will "spawn" a certain type of agent.
  8. 11.5GB? I had to download about 15GB. It took me about 5 hours. I just started the download and went to class. It was done by the time I got home.
  9. Actually Arnie may have a part in it, but it's technically not him. Roland Kickenger (who played Arnold in some movie about him) will supposedly play the T-800 and Arnold's face will be digitally mapped over Kickenger's face.
  10. IGN gives DoW2 a 9.0. Review I personally can't wait for the game. I've got my pre-order from Best Buy and they say they'll have it by Thursday at 2PM. I've been playing the Beta since day one and it's been a blast. I can't wait to try the co-op campaign. I for one, can't wait for the expansions. Orks have easily become my favorite race along with the Space Marines. I want to see a mini-campaign based around them. WAAAGH! I'm going to create a new Ork clan with the Army Painter. It's going to be based on my school's colors and mascot. It'll be something like Longhornz Clan. Edit: I also can't wait for the Chaos Space Marines to show up in an expansion.
  11. It didn't come right away for me. I walked around for a bit and then I got the message about a distress signal from Outcasts. You might want to try entering and leaving a city to try and trigger it. If that doesn't work, then just keep waiting. You should be able to get it at any point in the main quest. As a little warning, you can't replay Operation Anchorage once you've completed it. If you just want to play it again or if you miss certain items on the playthrough, then you should save before going in.
  12. Don't forget, the first DLC is coming soon. Jan. 27 I think. Too bad we've got to pay for it. I can't wait for the third DLC in March. It will raise the level cap to 30 and have BoS quests that continue after the Main Quest.
  13. Hmmm...If the NPC only get knocked out, that may mean that he is needed for some kind of quest. Oh, and just as a warning about the T-51b. Although it's fairly good armor, you CANNOT repair it yourself. No other power armor can be scrapped to repair the T-51b, even if your Repair skill is at 100 (as mine is). You can only have someone else repair it. Has anyone else found the Medical Power Armor yet? I found it and it was pretty cool to use. There is one small nuance with the armor that's amusing (or annoying depending on your POV).
  14. Dogmeat is somewhere in the Junkyard. Be careful with him, though. He's pretty fragile.
