  1. Another new map-modder, welcome ! Shiver's Tree Tutorial : maybe here Lot's of different tuts there. Detail texture is one basetexture/colortexture which is not tiled on channel1 and on channel 2 there's a detail-texture (which is small and has no colors, and can be tiled). Name it <*dm>mydetailtexture. Look at level-builder.pdf or example map. Shermanlevel is (also) for you to be able to give your teamAI waypoints on the command-map. GL with the map !

  6. I did : pic 1 pic 2 I've learned tricks about editing vertices and polys. I used to start with a 400m2 quadpatch, but now I'll use your method (starting with a small plane and adding more polys to that. This way you'll have only the polys you'll need). Thank you very much.
  7. Can't you just copy the kits so you have one mod with all the kits ? Then it will load the ones from the mod that has the highest priority in the mod list (bottom mod has highest priority). If there are duplicate names for different weapons you can rename the file (remember kit-files refer to the weapon-file which refer to the model-file). Best thing is to make your own tiny mod with all the kits from both 2 mods in it. You can have both 2 mods and your mod activated. As long as your mod has highest priority it will load the kits instead of other kits from other mods.
  8. images? where? For images to work in GR they need to be RSB (or TGA/BMP ?). Do you have the RSB-photoshop plugin installed ? If you do you can save the images to the RSB format so it'll work in game. The plugins are on the IT cd. Ehm you can save RSB's as R4G4B4A4 (16bit) or R8G8B8A8 (32bit). Now there was something special with the two...but I forgot, maybe the images with alpha-channels need to be 16bit, I donno. If it are background menu's you have to replace them with yours in the 'data'-folder. Hoped this help confusion (say what )
  9. I've made a website with tutorials for 3dsm/photoshop/igor you name it. But I lost the site's password I think it's still up : SANSITE. I asked Lycos to remove the site, maybe I'll put the tits on my new site. If you look for it you can find all the tuts somewhere else too (just like I did).

  12. Thanks for the manual on briefing-images Deleyt ! I used to do it the EL_OSO-way, but never knew what to do when you had more images then objectives (I just repeated the first objectives !). No offense EL_OSO, you r the godfather of GR !
  13. Thanks for the building-tut ! I've seen your buildings on the Farm-map and I must say they look quite nice. And you got the roofs done like I wanted...
  14. There are 5? different houses in the example Castle map. You can use them, (change textures alittle) but, it's better to just look at them and make your own. Then you will understand how to make them. Easy way to make a base for a house: - create a box and another one which is 20cm smaller (in all directions). They're placed in each other. Then attach the two boxes togehter. - make a door-box, move it in the wall and boolean it out. Then place the door in the door-opening. Now detach the inner-walls from the outer-walls. Group innerwalls as an inside room, and the outerwalls with the outdoor-room (_1). To make a realistic roof I have still to figure out a simple way...
  15. I always wanted to record the sounds of a firefight or a MP-game (not ön AS server, they carry socom ) And then maybe mix a beat init.
  16. Great job on the stairs, I really like it. Nice hanging lamp (whatever it's called in English). Nice details too with the textures. I see a tv-socket ? (in a hallway?) or is it power-socket for vacuum-cleaner ? good detail. Big rooms, where's the furniture (lazy removal man ) ? Now where's the president ?
  17. Dead trees, skulls n bones from animals (cow?), insects (lots of insects), no water. Death is all around this place. But it didn't used to be, before the (whatever happend to this place) everything was green and there was a river, birds you name it. Sorry I was fantazising
  18. Yeah it's a Lycos website. When I click the link I get a Lycos redirect page, then after the redirect I get on my main page. From there just goto GR1 Downloads page and download it from there. Use Winzip to extract, there's nothing wrong with the zip-file (just tested it). Sorry for inconviniance (sp?)
  19. I see 3? new characters I haven't seen before on that new site. So there are 12? now (instead of 9?). Probably. Nice !
