The music is already done (new Russian music almost everywhere), missions are almost done - now I am working on some little things in those missions (you know, I have to check if everything is working fine and stuff). After that, I will only have to change some in-game pictures and things like that and the mod will be done. Be patient, Comrades - victory is near! Regards. I played Your "Heroes Unleashed" mod - it is simply awesome. @ Igor Kool: well, as I said earlier, I am finishing the mod (mostly the missions) and it should be ready soon (however I don't promise anything). As for the Alpha or Beta version, there propably won't be any, just because the mod is quite big (about 950 MB or maybe even 1 GB). I am not sure about that one, though. Chudy Picio Posted June 8, 2012 Author Share Posted June 8, 2012 (edited) @ MrMoon: yes, in the mod you will play as various Russian forces (like FSB, VDV, Spetsnaz and other) against British and American soldiers (they will be variegated too, for example you will face British UN soldiers, American Ghost Recon soldiers or even original Ghost Recon specialists). I decided to make this mod to one of my favourite computer games just to show that Russian soldiers can be good too, that they are not always nameless hordes you have to kill in many games. And that the British and American soldiers can be bad sometimes too, they can't be heroes of every war for all times. I would like the British and American players to see and feel how the Russian people are feeling while playing against their own nation. P.S. Yes, I have tried to steer from the 'Russians are bad, USA is good' thing. Because frankly it isn't always true. Claiming Liberty was, sadly, against the Russians which just gets old after a while. Shooting americans is likely to drop sales and have political parties call game 'terror education'. just imagine CoD airport level in america, game would be banned probably Which is why we can't have nice things (WW1 games since no americans , playing as germany in WW2 as they are all 'evil and nazis heil hitler' ect. ) As for russian games , i haven't seen any western antagonists. And even they aim for western market (metro 2033 good example , station names in english IN RUSSIAN VERSION) i answered best i could. mods like these tend to do russians justice, with the whole russia conscript rush games focusing on western consumer... About Your "Claiming Liberty" mod - don't worry, it is really good mod, even with the "bad Russians and good Americans" thing. Actually, I really enjoyed it (especially the music in it ). @ Igor Kool: I agree with You - most customers of those games are on the West, so the enemies are always Russians, Arabic terrorists etc. As for the infamous CoD: MW2 airport mission (I think that it was called "No Russian" or something like that) - I heard that it was banned in Russia, or maybe even whole CoD: MW2 was banned? I don't remember. I know that CoD: MW was for sure banned in Arabic countries because you have to fight with Arabic soldiers in this game. It is a play on words - When said fast in English (moreso in certain dialects), it sounds like 'No Rushin'" Ubi did the same thing with GRFS on the mission in Moscow (Invisible Bear?) when you gotta hold position while getting spammed by loads of enemies coming up on all sides, most of which rush your position - One Ghost comments: "That's a whole lot of rushin'" To which one of the others replies: "Well, we are in Moscow." On a side note, I quite often get asked if I'm Russian at work because I go so fast - and when I complete my task, people ask me if I'm Finnish. Make a mod where Canada as a whole is EVIL(stomping on kittens evil) and we decide to invade USA. Because the US military are spread so thin around the globe and the Canadian Forces are awesomely trained asskickers, Canada rolls over USA and the Americans lose! Make that mod, k go! You can cover issues like the americans trying to control our resources with the mod starting up where we get tired of that and then go kick some redneck ass. I'd certainly enjoy dealing some whoop-ass to US troops from the perspective of Russian soldiers, just as I'd enjoy kicking the Brits, or the French, or the Whatevers. Wouldn't mind fighting as rebels or even terrorists or other bad guys either, as this is just a game after all, and it's all in good fun. Can never have enough variety in GR. MrMoon Posted June 10, 2012 Share Posted June 10, 2012 Aside from politics I think actual strength is one of the reasons we see Russians as opponents in military shooters. I actually get very bored of fighting middle eastern rebels and terrorists who one on one don't stand much of a chance against western armies one on one. I want to fight against and fight with factions/nations that can feild tanks and helicopters aircraft and special forces I prefer full on war scenarios (superpower v super/regional power) to say counter insurgency ones.
