=US=PUNiSHER
I've had this map sitting on my computer for a couple months and I never got around to releasing it for public use. Because Ghost Recon is an old game and I've moved on to newer things I've lost interest in building Ghost Recon maps. So this is my last Ghost Recon map and I'm releasing it here for you guys to play with. This is the 22nd Ghost Recon map I've created. I didn't realize I created that many until I went and counted them all. I believe I hold the record for most Ghost Recon maps made unless someone has done more than that. You can find all the maps I created in the GRPA Mod, of the 30 maps included in the mod 22 were made by me and 8 by other map builders. Here's a list of every map I created: Ancient Ruins, Battleground, Brandywine Falls, Farmstead, Ghost Village, Jungle Camp, Ocean City, Penitentiary, Ski Slope, Venice, Subway, Lake Retreat, Towers, Ridge, Ranch, Shanty Town, The Mine, Desert Palace, Downtown, Mexico City, Strongpoint, Jurassic Park. Heres the Jurassic Park map, the map currently requires the GRPA mod because it uses textures from that mod. Here's the download links for both: Jurassic Park Map: http://files.filefront.com/JurassicParkbet...;/fileinfo.html GRPA Mod v4.1: http://www.damnr6.com/macmods/download.cgi...41_macandpc.zip Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!! *PUNiSHER Edited December 12, 2008 by =US=PUNiSHER

Giampi
Is it playable in SP mode? in other words can you make plans on the command map?
Rocky
Uhm, that looks plain amazing! If someone could script a mission on that it would be great. Congrats and thanks for releasing this, your 22nd map. I will check and make sure we have all of your maps in the download section, so thanks for that handy list. Tinker
I really like the overall look of the map, it could be a very fun map to play on. First a few little issues: Trees on the beach have no textures http://www.ghostrecon.net/fileman/users/tinker/jp_01.JPG Tress in middle same issue http://www.ghostrecon.net/fileman/users/tinker/jp_02.JPG All the tree_shrubs are floating 1Meter above the ground http://www.ghostrecon.net/fileman/users/tinker/jp_03.JPG Also I see the map is built for MP T v T, all on 1 level. Can always work around the difficult areas if needed, but there is no command map to look at in game. Last issue is some places next to the edge of cliffs, there is an invisible barrier here and there, you need to move around. To remove this, continue the non rendered colisions and tag the cliffs / rocks as non2d. I think it is the cliffs folding in under themselves below. Would like to know you where to fix these few issues, a lovely map. I only post these issues, as I would hope to see others post about my own, with the chance of you creating a better map. Tinker *Edit* Heres the Jurassic Park map, the map currently requires the GRPA mod because it uses textures from that mod. Here's the download links for both: Just saw this, textures do show with the other mod. Would it be much trouble to add them to the map folder, before the lighting tool? =US=PUNiSHER
Thanks I fixed the tree's and added a few more around the map. Also tried modifying the cliff edges like you mentioned. I would like to add a low poly helicopter to the map if anyone has one they can donate. I need something that comes with textures. Here's updated download link for Jurassic Park Map: http://files.filefront.com/JurassicParkbet...;/fileinfo.html Also I'm adding a download link to a .zip with .max files of all the maps I created. You can add this to the ghostrecon.net downloads section. I'm giving this to the community of map builders here as a gift to help people who may be new to map building and other people that may want to add or edit what I've created. Everyone has permission to use these files and edit them. Ghost Recon is an old game so I don't mind seeing what other people could do with this stuff. All these maps use textures that can be found in the GRPA Mod. Please give credits to me as the original creator if you edit these maps and make your own versions of them. Tinker
Awesome, thnx Punisher. I would like to add a low poly helicopter to the map if anyone has one they can donate. I need something that comes with textures. Only thing I could offer is the original BH, found >HERE< Is around 7,000 polys , but, after some meddling... BH without crew, fully working for MP set at 25M height, 2000 polys: http://www.ghostrecon.net/fileman/users/tinker/bh_01.jpg BH mesh only, without the guns and new blade, 1800 polys: http://www.ghostrecon.net/fileman/users/tinker/bh_02.jpg Both available >HERE< Hope it may help. H-Hour
PUNiSHERs Maps 3ds Max files: http://files.filefront.com/PUNiSHERs+Map+M...;/fileinfo.html Has anyone else had trouble with the download for the max files? I download it and the files appear to be there (it's 9mb or so), but when I extract them nothing shows up in the newly created folder. I've tried downloading and extracting from Punisher and Rocky's URLs (not sure if they're actually different). Tinker
I have downloaded and checked files on my side, all seem to be fine here. 9,254KB zipped 106MB Unzipped Downloaded from Punishers post.
Rocky
Hmm, the download entry here goes to the exact same file download at filefront, so there is no difference. However, I too get errors when trying to extract the downloaded zip file....
Tinker
Downloaded again to check, all fine. I used 7-Zip if it helps?
ApexMods
Works just fine here - maybe it is an issue with some extraction utilities that cannot handle the character "*" in the beginning of the expanded folder name?
Tinker
That`s odd. Mine has these characters __ that is 2 x underline Will rename folders, repack and upload. *EDIT* PUNiSHERs_Map_Max_files_v2.zip 8.36MB PUNiSHERs_Map_Max_files_v2.7z 3.96MB
H-Hour
I re-downloaded and extracted with 7-zip and it went fine. I was using WinAce and it had a problem with it for whatever reason. Thanks for the fast response, and thanks to Punisher for releasing the max files.
Rocky
PUNiSHERs_Map_Max_files_v2.zip 8.36MB PUNiSHERs_Map_Max_files_v2.7z 3.96MB So that's the same files, one with winzip, one with 7z, and the 7z one comes in at less than half the size? That's pretty impressive compression!

H-Hour
I've been enjoying looking at Punisher's meshs. It looks like for terrain you use a displace map or something. It throws all of the dots off-grid, so if I want to insert a building or expand outwards on the terrain, I can't match up the vertices. Does anyone know how to pull a mesh point that's off the grid back onto the grid? It's not so simple as having snap-to-grid on and pulling the dot in. It never quite fully matches the grid, even if you zoom in all the way and try to place it there, and then I'll have problems with little gaps or overlapping polys that cause visual problems at distance. Any ideas?
