Logos
OKay, so I've asked this question -- does the way GR:AW uses HDR favor ATI over Nvidia -- at least three times in the past and never got an answer. Now that the demo is out, it's apparent that GR:AW does not use HDR in a way that NVidia can have both AA and HDR, but has anyone out there with an ATI 1900XT or 1900XTX tried enabling both? If anyone out there has a 1900XT or 1900XTX, please try running HDR and AA simultaneously and let us know.
Samurai Recon
I have an X1900XTX, but i thought that AA was disabled in the demo? Will AA have an effect if i enable it in the CCC?

Dawn
um i have a 7800gtx ko oc and i have full AA and HDR just enable it in the XML my post has every setting high and hdr enabled it works to ← There is no option for AA in the xml, You playing the same game as us? There is an option for AF but not AA. I think your mixing the two together. Besides, you have a NVIDIA Card and only a handfew games uses the HDR programing that makes it possible to use HDR and AA at the same time for NVIDIA users. GR:AW ain't one of them. Thats why he is asking if any ATI users have tryed it and how it looks. Dawn

Logos
Why does AA have to be enabled in the game settings. Don't ATI's drivers give you the ability to force AA from outside the game's settings?

Even after disable dynamic light. I'd be thinking upgrade, but since a x1900xtx can't do it, what's the point. Puts me in a holding pattern to see if anything gets done about this before i buy anything.

Therefor we should be able to use AA ?

I have an X1900XTX and AA just can't be forced. ← Well I have X800 Pro and I forced AA to 4x and re-launched the demo and noticed a big improvement. I turned of dynamic lights and shadows and got a much smoother frame rate with significantly less jaggies. If your catalyst control center is installed, you should be able to force AA and leave all other settings at 'application preference' and get the same results. If not, then I'm not upgrading my card for anything.
MartyF
I have a X1900XTX and also forced the game to do AA, but I haven't seen any improvements. I also don't have any problems with frame rates, although I have a lot of jaggies. And I don't want to miss the dynamic lights and shadows. I want to use AA and those 2 options. This is what I did purely by happenstance and I noticed a big improvement. I haven't tried forcing AA with dynamic lighting and shadows enabled... it may not 'kick in' in that case.
