mod to use to run in windows 10 -> http://www.ghostrecon.net/files2/index.php?act=view&id=1374

I was running a thread at neowin.net and NICK H. found that the above linked mod allows for GR to be played in fullscreen in Windows 10.

neowin thread http://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1267912-ghost-recon-20012002-no-longer-works/

So we can GR on with Windows 10. seems the tech involved in the mod, deals with the fact that technology has changed tremendously since 2001. However, the mod works and you can play in fullscreen. no need to alter your options.xml

game on!

I don't mean to sound like a dick here, but I found the solution on the day that thread was posted, and I think, stress THINK our little thread over here was the first in the community of players as a whole to contain a proper solution to the problem.

even the steam community thread regarding it only managed to find a solution a week after we did.

oh ok, I didn't know. That post or thread wasn't very visible but if its a different work around than we can pull our resources together and put those ideas in one concentric thread. But at any rate, I was first made aware of this issue last night and think perhaps making sure Rocky secures these mods that fix the issues with Windows 10, then we all win.

it's the exact same work around ;) uses ENB dx8 to DX9 DLLs.

I'll ask rocky to edit the first post with the solution, and pin the thread we have here if you think it'll make life easier.

like i said, not trying to be a dick, just letting you know, they probably heard it first here :)

Go for it. As people update to 10 in the future, if they do, this shoudl come in handy

My intentions was to help any lost souls to find "the way" to getting a beloved title working in windows 10. I never intended to step on any toes. Neowin.net even has a discussion on this very issue. So if Rocky could sticky it, I think we could do a great service to the community. ;)
