Another thing to consider is whether the map will cause lag online  :unsure:

But we will find that out soon enough.

Yeah was affraid of that my self too. I will test it with some guys online and if it lags too much I wont make it available for multiplayer.

The map's also a very big addition to the mod size.

Thats great stuff TEC Leader!  You should send the alterations you made to the multplayer classes in a .zip to blakarion.  If you keep the folders to the same names and ask blakarion to replace those folders in his copy of the beta then that should install his changes easily.

Instead of saying "A AMR SNIPER" or "A CQB specialist"

You shoulda just put "AMR Sniper" and "CQB specialist". But thats not a big deal and will be fixed whenever.

Ive emailed this guy 3 times asking him about the cartel map, if he plans to redo it so its playable.

no response from him. maybe somebody else can try contacting him as well.

Yeah well I did that in the first place but then watching the other classes I added the "A" in front... 2 seconds to correct this...Minor, 3 .atr files to edit... :thumbsup:

As for adding Cartel map (Traffic_c, isn`t it??) gee go ahead!! This map is soooo nice!

Hi there, me again...

Ok Stalker_Zero asked me to make a desert skin for the AMR Sniper, so I did this one quickly based on the woodland one:

I told him how nice his maps are and that they are unplayable and this is the reply I got from him:

I am now in train to finish the cartel map, the one-this to be considerably optimized, she works on :

athlon 800mhz - Ram 256 mo - graphic card Ati all in wonder 32 mo.

I have equally realized two others map to depart of the one-this for the multiplayers games.

The traffic map has be equally modifyed, new textures, polygons optimized, correction of a few bugs, multiplayers games.

The everything will be available of here a to two weeks in french version and english.

This mod will carry the name of traffic.

I like the prelims on the AMR Sniper. My opinion? :rolleyes: In my experience in the infantry, most snipers do not have scrim on the front of their ghillie suits as this restricts movement and increases the noise during a stalk. Check out these pics from the Infantry School... (some i've incl just for the heck of it... :shifty:)

as you can see the front of their ghillies is relatively clear of scrim.

So in addition to that I'd drop any LBV's and any bulky (Black! :o ) body armour...(too many pouches in the front...agan it restricts movement and makes noise)

Not to pee in anyone's pond... ;)

Great news. Thank you for taking the effort of contacting him. I will wait modding a mission for this map until new version comes out.

I will start next week with the airfield map. That is offcourse if you agree with that.

I will work more on the AMR, thx for the inputs mate...One thing though: what`s "scrim"? (hey you know I`m french!) :whistle:

Stalker_Zero also suggested to have a choice of two skins per characters in MP...I think it`s a good idea, even if it requires more work...There are a lot of weapons but few skins in the mod right now...What do you think?

OK dudes!

Recently I was busy expressing my anger over the POSSIBLE but not definate news that GR2 might be a third person console shooter. You can click on the link and read it. Let me know if I was too harsh.

But I'm not gonna dwell on that. As regarding our mod I'm saying the following:

That is Excellent, excellent news! We ask that you please stay on top of that and check on when he is gonna release those maps. As soon as hes done with them and he wants to allow their inclusion here try to get copies ok? And try to get those map files to el nino foxhound as soon as possible. Two weeks you said? Yes indeed if ya got some ideas on making a mission on the default airfield map (thats the one your talking about right?) go right ahead. :)

Anything else that comes to mind go for it!

Even though I agree with maraudermike on the ghille suit noise making issue. We are gonna keep your desert ghille suit ok TEC? Thats because folks the skin itself was made by someone else and TEC Leader was just altering the textures for use on desert maps. And since this game engine is forgiving when it comes to noise making it doesn't matter at least in this situation.

And as for the doubling up on the skins for multiplayer here are my thoughts. IF in multiplayer each class of soldier had two skins to choose from it might make the game a bit more fun. Especially for people who wants to try to personalize their choices in game.

That is gonna mean 2 skins for each of the 6 classes of soldier. 6 x 2 equals 12 skins to choose from...for each team? Thats gonna be alot of skins. But it will be a great way to fit in all the skins that maraudermike was considering to add to the game.

Ok man now you really have ya work cut out for ya! Along with the missions you trying to get from people...you can hunt for skins selections. And it would be nice if the skins u got have a desert version to them. Ask for donations from bajabravo. In fact, if your reading this TEC Leader, bajabravo's website has ready made skin packs you can download yourself to use in any mod. We just simply need to give him credit for that in the mod.

Alot of work but at least the skins are already done. Ya just have to plug them in.

By the way guys,

If you don't see me on msn messenger in time to talk to you its because I have been sick lately. And it takes energy to talk on msn messenger because I have like 100 or so friends there. As soon as I log in 10 people say "sup". And because I such a softie I take the time to say hi to everyone and have conversations with them all.

When your sick its easier to just leave messages on the forum. But I should be up to full strength tommorow. Fever finally broke! :x

But this is your mod guys! Run with the ideas. If you know you gotta contact blakarion to send up files do so. For now even though hes workin on kits he will also be the one to collect work from others.

Blakarion? TEC Leader knows how to upload to you. If anyone else has stuff to send get blakarion to give you site access ok guys?

The only prob I got is the lack of time - so the Kits are coming along, just slowly. :wall:

Im trying to wrap up my second released Mod (Operation:After Shock) at same time, so both projects are going REALLY slow, but Im off for next 5 days so should get things upto speed and Bristol fashion :thumbsup:

Anyway, where the AMR etc I was gonna get sent ? :huh:

Basically I am going to donate a mini mod beta I wanted to release before the giant community mod fell in my lap.

It was gonna be called........SNIPER CANNON!

Filled with gruesomely awesome anti-material rifles and such. From various exotic .50 calibers to insane 20mm rifles!

I really wanted to put this in a seperate mini mod cause of the cool title ;)

But reality is hitting and the only way the weapons will see the light of day is to put them in this mod.

Blakarion, take out the secondaries i put for this sniper cannon beta. Give the sniper cannon kits really weak secondaries to offset the power of the main guns ok? You can put the secondaries for those kits in the riflemen kits ok?

Some of my buds has expressed regret at not releasing the sniper cannon mod as a stand alone mod.

What do you guys think?

Ok I talked to IF_GRT and he stirred up some old feelings I've had for this mini mod project...SNIPER CANNON.

OK this is what we agreed upon:

I will still send blakarion the old sniper cannon beta and will add the guns to the AMR Sniper class of the community mod. He will also give the secondaries for them weak pistols only for 50 cals and on the 20mm alot of recoil plus perhaps no secondaries at all or even better for the 20mm guns.......low amount of ammo plus a pistol. That will balance gameplay to offset the power of the guns.

That power being the 50 cals will be coded to kill like a nade launcher with that "fly backwards" effect. And the 20mm's will be coded to kill tanks even when the shooter is prone. By the way...I was the first person in ghostrecon to create that effect for a gun but it seems I am the last to actually release the material in a mod. :wall:

The original secondaries in the sniper cannon beta included a 50 caliber desert eagle with scope, robocop's pistol including real sound, and a .44 automag model.

I guess now the thing to do is to put those guns in the other soldier class kits. Perhaps as secondaries for normal snipers would be cool or whatever.

As for the fate of SNIPER CANNON.......

It will eventually be released as a seperate mod with even more cool 50 cal or 20mm super killers. Plus missions, ghille suits, and perhaps a map or two. And depending on the news in may at the E3 expo........

If Ghost Recon 2 is the game we all hope it will be then I will delay Sniper Cannon to be released on the new game with better looking gun models.

If not, then it will be on GR.
