ChrisD
Hi - I have looked through this forum but cannot find this topic. My PC is Win 7 64bit. I have GR downloaded & installed to new folder C:\Ghost Recon where it works OK. I have just bought IT & DS - but when I run their installer I get the message 'GR must be installed. Will now exit' There is no 'Browse' option. Where does the installer expect to find GR? Help, please. By the way, GOG sells GR updated to V1.4 for $3.99 by download. IT & DS I bought here in the UK from CEX at 40p & 25p (Yes that is pence!) Delivery £2.50. These seem to be brand new in cases with booklet. This is probably not the right place to ask (I am a newbie) but how do I get to the 2nd mission in the campaign as supplied in GR. I completed all objectives in mission 1 (capture Papa but lost some men) but the next mission does not appear. What's the problem? Thanks in advance for your help. Zeealex
you'll probably have to reinstall GR to C:\Program Files(x86)\[Red Storm Entertainment] (this will be made by the installer if it's legit)

Dannik
C:\Ghost Recon where it works OK. I have all three original CDs somewhere, installed on (I think) Win2k & XP over the years. but purchased them again (part of a very deeply discounted set) from Steam, currently running on Win 7 Pro 64bit with no game issues, but that's all three from the same source, retail or Steam. There have been a couple of versions of GR released over the years, and honestly I don't know how to tell them apart except for the media they are on, Zeealex has the pathing correct, and as long as you have a bit of patience with us, we'll try to help further. In the meantime, try installing under that path & file a support ticket at GOG to cover all bases, please.
ChrisD
Hi & thanks for replying. The download from GOG has a default installation program to : C:\Program Files(X86)GOG.com\Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon - which is probably why IT & DS can't find it. It also cannot find it where I have put it either - but I was told to avoid installing programs that can be modified in the main program directory & to put them into c:\-----. I have done this with several programs with no problems. Just to clarify - I will make a new folder as follows: C:\Program Files(X86)[Red Storm Entertainment] & install GR into that? i will try later & let you know how it went. Thanks again for your help. Dannik
While I don't have the same version of Ghost Recon installed, I do use the same operating system as you. C:\Program Files (x86)\Red Storm Entertainment\ is the "right" place to install to, if drive C is your target. I don't believe it's the location though; I'm likely wrong, but being a ten year old game, I think the disks check the Windows registry first, and no digital distro uses the registry during install. If I'm right, you will have to get those registry entries before the DS & IT installers work, though a hunch says try Win7's compatability mode during install as that may help. ChrisD
Thanks Dannik. I too would have thought the IT & DS installers would check the registry - if they did they would surely have found GR where ever I put it. The install instructions say that the OS can be up to XP, so I am a little surprised at the problem. I will try the compatability mode if the new folder fails. Thanks. Regards, ChrisD Hi ChrisD and welcome to the forums You will have to complete the 1 and 2 objective (if you want complete the x if you want a hero) but to complete the x and 3, you have to get to the greenmarked zone on your command map. When ALL of your soldiers is in there, and it will complete. Then it comes up a blue screen click the right arrow and you start on the next mission. Else you can go back to menu click campaign (your campaign name) and you can see the missions. When the missions is completed they will be able to play as quick missions. Rocky
Unless you were playing the missions as Quick Mission, rather than Campain. BTW, great prices, I'll stick that in the news page. What is CEX though, never heard of it before. Second hand games??
ChrisD
Hi All. I'm sorry to say all my efforts were in vain - nothing I tried worked - I cannot install DS & IT over the GOG download. Unless someone has actually done this I will have to give up & buy the CD version - I have seen one listed by CEX, but they also have the all 3 in 1 version which I will probably go for. Anyway, thanks for your help. Regards, ChrisD
ChrisD
Hi teppe, Thanks for your reply about completing the mission. I have so far only completed it once - with 1 soldier left - but I did complete all 4 tasks. Oh, well - have another go! Rocky - CEX is Computer Exchange - they have shops throughout the UK, but also do Internet sales. Just ask Google for CEX. I found they do GR + DS + IT in one for £3.00 - looks like I,m going that way. As I mentioned - the 2 I bought seemed to be brand new in the correct cases & with instruction booklet.
