  1. I went to see it at 9:30PM last night and I have to say that it was excellent. At first I thought no one could touch Jack Nicholson, but Heath Ledger was amazing. I especially liked his little magic trick, which was very unexpected. As for Bale's voice sounding strange while in the batsuit, here's an explanation as to why that is. How Stuff Works - Batsuit
  2. Trailer Whoa So what race do you guys think the Eldar was referring to. I'm not well versed in the Warhammer 40k universe, but people have been saying that it's possibly Tyranids.
  3. I'm trying to convince one of my friends to buy CoH over Steam since he uses it a lot for other games. I've got a few questions about the Steam version and CoH multiplayer in general. -Steam usually releases updates in a timely manner and it's easy since it auto-downloads and installs before the game starts. Is CoH already patched up to the latest version on Steam? -I'm assuming that CoH on Steam is virtually the same as the disc version, so my friend will still have to create a RelicOnline account and register cd-keys, correct? -Lastly, I've never played online or LAN before with CoH. Is it easy to create a private game with my friend via LAN or online with a password? Thanks for any help.
  4. Treyarch really doesn't have a good track record with CoD games, but I hope this is good. At least for the 4-player co-op. Aside from Halo 3 and Gears, there really haven't been many good co-op experiences.
  5. Thanks to the guys at TweakGuides for this info Official Website Sounds interesting because I thought Psycho was cool. I just wonder if the story will go past the ending of the first game. I also hope they've made some good optimizations to the engine.
  6. Sounds like me playing Halo 3 online for the first time last night, except I was the "smerf". I already had a lot of experience playing through the campaign on Legendary and though it's different from MP, I got all the basics down. Basically it was me vs. three other guys in a ranked Slayer match (deathmatch) to 25 kills with. I was playing in the "newbie" playlist since I technically was new and had less than 5xp. Anyway, I managed to get one 10-kill streak and two 5-kill streaks. I didn't have my mic, but everyone else did. That was the first time I had so many F-bombs thrown at me. They always referred to me as "that damn red guy" because of my red armor. If they were fighting each other and I came around, they'd all turn around and shoot at me instead. My friends who were watching me play were laughing so hard at all the cussing by my opponents. I ended up winning by 10 kills. Good times . I do know what you mean by going up against guys that "smerf". I got my butt handed to me by someone pretty badly when I was playing a "newbie" game still. I lost by more than ten kills. The guy obviously wasn't a new player because all his shots were dead on and he managed to stick me with a plasma grenade a few times.
  7. One thing that DooM4 needs that DooM3 was missing is co-op (out of the box, I know about LMS ). I play Doom on XBL Arcade and 4 player co-op is a blast. Also, no spawning behind unless it's like the original where you open up another area behind you and demons come from there.
  8. Awww man, that's an awesome 'Vette. Keep us updated Ruin.
  9. It's already activated and with a key.
  10. Sorry, no I didn't get the promo. The copy I got was an OEM version which didn't require a key.
  11. Thanks for the great info on Vista and Creative. I'll just stick with the Audigy 4 and save up some money for that extra RAM. Still, does anyone know of a utility that I could use to look up the exact specs/model number of my RAM? Edit: Whoops, I didn't see the other posts. Thanks for that bit of info CR6, but I've got a Core 2 Duo so that shouldn't be a problem for me.
  12. My friend managed to snag me a copy of Vista Ultimate and I've got a couple of questions before I install. 1. I heard that Vista handles sound differently than XP. Will I still be able to utilize my SB Audigy 4? If so, are there Vista specific drivers? 2. It's been a year and a half since I built this PC so my memory is a bit foggy on what type of RAM I'm using. I know that it's Kingston 667 DDR2, but is there some sort of utility I could download to find out exactly what model it is? I want to upgrade to 4GB of RAM from 2GB. Thanks for any answers P.S. Until I get the 4GB of RAM, is 2GB still good enough to run games on Vista well?
  13. If I remember right, the devs said that you'll play a Mercenary or Freelancer of some sort whose main mission was to kill Strelok. I'm excited for them to fully implement their faction wars and A-Life system. The DX10 effects make me wish I had Vista.
  14. Wow, great post Serellan. That's pretty interesting what you said about Switzerland -- it's something I never knew and probably something I would never learn about from the news outlets. That statistic would kill their credibility even more. I've never liked Nancy Grace since I first saw her on TV. She really seems like a self-important, pushy ######.
  15. Where did you read about the smaller squad sizes? I'm guessing that you'll be able "rank-up" persistent squads in the campaign. Either way, I'll probably end up getting it.
  16. I haven't seen a thread on this yet, but whatever Relic has released so far for DoW2 looks amazing. It's using an updated version the Essence Engine 2.0 which also powers CoH and Opposing Fronts. Basically it looks like a CoH-ified Dawn of War, or should I say it's a DoW-ified CoH? Either way, next year can't come soon enough. Dawn of War 2
  17. It seems interesting, and from looking at the movie it looks as if it's closer to Ace Combat than something like Falcon 4.0. We'll just have to wait until some real gameplay videos come out before saying anything. I like sims as much as the next person, but I also like games where you can get into some crazy dogfights a la Ace Combat. If it does go to in the vein of the AC series, I hope it will at least be as good as those games and have the same attention to detail with regards to plane models. As for the plane in the trailer, I think it was a Eurofighter Typhoon. Also, with the in-helmet HUD, I think I read somewhere that they were developing that for use with the F-35 JSF. I'll have to try and find where I read that.
  18. Very nice. Does this also change the Force Recon models for multiplayer as well, or are those separate models from these? I'd like to use them, but I don't want to be kicked by PB for having different skins.
  19. Sweet. Thanks for this info Hatchet. My dad was looking to get a Blu-Ray player so I'll tell him about this so I can get something out of it too The Kotaku article says June, but does anyone have any idea of a real date?
  20. You're right about the interface Rocky. I guess if it's good enough, why change it? I'll have to keep an eye on this. One thing I wish more 3D RTS games would incorporate is the WASD+mouse camera movement on the battlefield a la World in Conflict. It was so smooth that it made hard to switch back to the old style RTS controls. I kept trying to hit WASD when I went back to CoH
  21. egoraptor is awesome . Metal Gear Awesome 1 and 2 really hit the nail on the head when it came to parodies of MGS. If you like video game parodies, you should check out some of his other Awesome stuff.
  22. Well, off the top of my head I'd say 28 Days Later or Shaun of the Dead.
  23. I'm using the SteelPad 5L right now. It's a "hard" mousepad because it's not flimsy, but the material feels a bit like the soft mousepads. It's got a good bit of room if you need it and so far it's been great with my G7 mouse.
  24. I think it may have to do with the fact that the Ospreys are currently used by the Marines, but the Ghosts are in the Army. But who knows, they probably could get one if they deemed it necessary. Just thinking of the Osprey reminds me of when I first played Half-Life. Seeing the HECU Marines roping down from Ospreys into combat was plain awesome.
  25. I've got the G7, which is the wireless version of the G5. It's worked out great for me so far. I think there is a version out now that has two side buttons (Back and Forward, as opposed to just Back on a web browser). The only complaint I have with mine is that it's the earlier G7 version with only one side button.
