OICW is officially dead. We will be keeping the M4, but there is talk of a new caliber, say 6.0 or 6.8. There are so many Gene Stoner weapons out there it would be cheap and easy just to replace all the uppers. But OICW is gone.

I am really impressed with Sum of All Fears. You get Flashbangs with it, and is it just me or are the graphics improved as well? Are there mods for SOAF? Thanks.

That's easy. Just page down to the next team. and move to contact. Download Shoot 1.6. Install and tweak it until it works. Assuming you are Charlie team, that makes it easy to say: map alpha (use mouse to plot route) bravo (use mouse...) suppress (all units get a "+" in their circle.)

I actually think we are on the verge of a "growth spurt" in computing technology...the 64 bit processors are coming out, we are seeing advances in leaps and bounds in all areas of the PC, including graphics cards, ram speed, etc. I think RSE is smart enough to realize that in order to guarantee a product that will be popular for a nice length of time they have to make a game that is challenging for today's technology, and perhaps even overdesign it so that in 12 months when we upgrade we will see things in GR2 we didn't see before, etc. This is exactly what happened to me with GR...when it first came out, my PC would not play it at all. With each upgrade I made, as I could afford to make them (with a mortgage, 2 SUVs and a young child and a business...) I noticed marked improvements in the visual aspect of the game. Just my .02. Not sure what info will help, but I have a Abit IC7-G mbo, pentium 4 2.4, i gig of kingston hyper x ram, and a ATI 9700 pro. I overclock v card just a little with powerstrip. Using a new crt monitor with a good dot pitch. What can I do to get the 32 bit? (it is greyed out). Thanks. Tortfeasor

I have thought about that too. There are so many more folks playing ravenshield (and I think RS sucks) than GR I worry that RSE will take that into consideration. I think we are a relatively small bunch of folks, prior military or military minded people, and 80% of FPS gamers are young kids who run and gun, with no desire to use the same tactics one would use in Indian country. Those kids would run around with bullseyes on their backs in real life. But I digress! I am with you...I think it is unlikely we will see GR2 unless the planets align. Tortfeasor

The answer is the voice recognition program...version 1.6. It is awesome. Say "Alpha, suppress" and they fire 55 grains of hot smoking 5.56 lead at the turbans! Try it and you will never go back to using the keyboard. It does take a little tweaking to train the program on your voice, and to work out the commands. Tortfeasor

Hey bro, there is no such formation as point, it is called a wedge. (or a Vee). And you already can give them commands such as the ones you gave. If you download the speech recognition software, you can say "suppress" and every swinging dic* fires at the enemy! It is awesome. Then you can assault from the flank like you would in real life.
