Hello tecmic. I have always installed the lastest DX and the latest everything because I like to be update or I can't go to sleep. DX9 nearly killed my system but I removed it sucessfully and I did the same wit DX8 also but I don't remember what tool for DX8. And yes I would say you have been lucky then. And me too since I had no serious trouble in the end because of DX and was able to rollback to previous versions when I needed to. Some people like to wait some don't it doesn't matter but I can see how some are wary to upgrade or update because they are unsure and don't want to be a part of a DX9-like fiasco.

There was a hdd on what is now my server and it had the same problem but BIOS didn't recognize it and resetting the BIOS didn't help either so at least I knew that was hardware and I could go to sleep that night. When i get off work I am gonna check out how "deep" System Restore can go into windows to revert a change.

Yeah...its fixed thats coo but I wanna know ###### caused it. As far as I know System Restore doesnt touch anything "deeper" than a program install yet I find it odd that could make a HDD unrecognizeable...oh wait this is Windows prolly a script Bill had added in just to torque off users every 7 months

haha I think HAL on XP is borked if it doesnt recognize it. Try a system restore as u said and maybe then a repair installation though sometimes they themselves cause more problems. You may also wanna post this at a forum that is more hardware oriented...or I could for u at www.hardforum.com

Sounds like somehow HAL is screwing up...do u have a spare pc u could put the drive in to see if windows would detect it? What about using the bios jumpers to clear it? I know the mobo recognizes it but it couldn't hurt. If u put in a Windows Install cd go pas the F8 license agreement and see if it gives u the option to set up windows on it (but don't). This is wierd

With IE6 being the last standalone IE, will it really matter? I mean Longhorn isn't do till late '04 to mid '05 anyways. The prices SCO wants are amazing, if they do win I think linux will stop being used. But with so man servers on it and all it will be a hard thing to decide whether to drop linux or keep it. I do hope RedHat wins though.

Okay cool I found this tool that will make the code for me. Is this better than the text links?

I want to add a drop down menu to my site here where the links are to pictures, programs, movies etc that when u click on the name in the drop down menu it will act like a link and take you to the desired location. Any help would be appreciated greatly
