  1. Try updating your ethernet adapter's drivers, even if its built onto the motherboard. I had issues with the multiplayer lobby, and that fixed it. In my case, the ethernet adapter is built onto the mobo, so I never even THOUGHT of updating drivers for it. Hope that helps!
  2. Not sure if this would be it, but are you sure you aren't entering "O's" as zeros, or vice versa? And are you entering it in all caps, with the dashes?
  3. Make sure you have all your drivers up to date. Even drivers for your ethernet adapter, even if it is built onto the motherboard. Try dropping your firewall entirely, just to eliminate that as a remote possibility. Also, if you are using a router, disconnect the router from your setup and connect your pc directly to the modem and make sure that you are still able to access the internet (you may need to change some settings in the modem to make it work with the new setup). This will tell you if the router is at fault. I had a lot of connection issues with GRAW till I did that, and found that my router was the issue, even thoguh i had no other problems with any other games. Hope this helps!
  4. As far as your video problem goes, I dont know what to tell you. Except maybe to uninstall and reinstall your vid drivers, maybe something is corrupted. As far as your friend's connection issue, I had the same problem, and also I would get hung up at the "waiting for server" screen at map changes in adversarial multiplayer. Here is how I fixed it. 1) update ALL your drivers for your system. Even drivers for your ethernet adapter, and firmware for your router, if you are using one. I updated mine, and it made a big difference in the multiplayer server menu. It used to take a while for the list to finish resolving, and even then I would show a lot of 0 or 999 ping servers that would show no info. After updating the drivers for my ethernet adapter, which is built onto my motherboard, the list resolves almost instantly, with no 0 or 999 ping servers. 2) If you are connecting through a router, disconnect the router from the setup and connect directly from the modem to your pc. In my case, that fixed it, because apparently the router I was using was faulty, even though I had no issues with any other games. As soon as I connected directly from my modem, the issue was permanently resolved. In my case, the modem I had from my ISP is also a router, so I reset the modem to do its own routing instead of passing through to another router, and connected a hub I had laying around so I could still share the internet connection between the 2 computers in the house. I now have 0 problems with GRAW. Whenever you are having any problems, update all your drivers, and if it's a connection issue, try dropping your firewall to see if the firewall isn't set right, and if thats not it, try connecting directly to the modem to eliminate the router as the issue. Hope all this helps!
  5. hmmm... maybe I will stop trying to get it to work in GRAW then... Guess I found it on a GR1 forum and thought it was GRAW, lol. Thanks!
  6. Trying to try a FPS tweak in which you are supposed to open the in game console and type in "togglemovetrees" to get the trees in the game to stop constantly moving, which is supposed to give a big boost to your framerate on some maps. However, hitting the numpad enter key does not bring up the console. I have tried hitting it at the main menu, and during a single player mission. According to the guide where I saw the tweak, numpad enter is the right key to hit to bring the console up. Did the key change with the v1.35 patch? Did the console get nerfed entirely? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for any help!
  7. OK, weird as it sounds, even though I had no problems in any other games, the issues were all being caused by my netgear router. I disconnected the router from my setup and took my ethernet directly from the modem to my pc, and GRAW works FINE!! I connected a netgear 4 port hub I had laying around for years, and it works FINE!! To anyone having the issue I was having, make sure all your drivers are up to date, even the one's you don't usually think of like your ethernet adapter, and try taking your router out of the equation!! Thanks so much to all those who helped me out (Colin is the man), and Ubisoft, I apologize profusely for anything negative I said about you!!!!!!! Now, enough troubleshooting (finally), I have people to shoot.

  9. "Intel Centrino duo core 1.66 GHz " There is your problem. That processor is not up to the task of running GRAW and Vista. Time to upgrade, brother.
  10. It would seem that I have some SEVERE apologizing to do. I would like to take back any inflamatory remarks I made at Ubisoft over the map change hanging at the "waiting for server" issue... I was inspired by another post on a forum to check microsoft's update site for drivers, and there I found updated drivers for my monitor and my LAN card, 2 things I never even thought to update the drivers for... EVER. The version on Microsoft's website didnt solve the issue, but it DID make the server list resolve almost instantly, instead of taking several minutes and having many pings of 999 or 0 on the list. So that was good. So, I went to the site for my LAN adapter's manufacturer, and downloaded the latest driver from there. And then my issue was FIXED!!! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW HAPPY THAT MADE ME??? AND IT ONLY TOOK ME 3 DAYS!!!! So, to anyone having the map change hangup issue, please go and update the drivers for ALL of your hardware, including your LAN card!! Hope this helps someone out!! 11. No, just plain old XP 32 bit, updated all the time. Single core processor. Every driver for all my hardware is up to date, and I even tried rolling back to earlier versions. NOTHING has helped. I think I will be going with the "Don't ever buy anything that Ubisoft puts its now worthless name on." approach. Would love to find a way around this issue though. The lack of official support is disturbing. So glad I gave them my money.
  12. thanks for trying... the only thing in my custom maps folder is the readme file that installs there with the game.
  13. EVERY map change, on EVERY server (except DM servers apparently), I get stuck at the "waiting for server" screen. It stays there indefinately, every time. And every time I have to exit GRAW entirely to rejoin the server or join any other server. If I don't restart GRAW, it will do nothing when I click to join a server from the multiplayer menu. I run an compeltely up to date winXP, nvidia vid card, soundblaster sound card, both with most up to date drivers, up to date PhysX drivers, everything on my system is well maintained and up to date. Are they even working on this issue? Or have they ditched GRAW to rob more fans with GRAW2?
  14. There needs to be a system implemented to be able to download a map from the server if you don't have the map. ANY game that supports custom maps NEEDS to have it, and most do. It is ridiculous not to. Requiring people to CONSTANLY search for new maps all over the place and keep up with updating them just to be able to play on a server is stupid, and will only turn people away from custom maps. I myself have made two rather nice maps, but I havent even bothered releasing them because the whole thing is such a pain in the @$$. We HAVE to have automatic downloading! Other than this issue and the lack of dedi server files/ admin tools, great game GRIN!
  15. For those who are in a state of confusion over the killcam/deathcam/that-cam-thingy-they-are-putting-in-the-next-patch, this quote is taken right from the source, http://ghostrecon.com/us/newspost.php?id=16089 "Additionally, this map pack will implement the death cam, a feature showing you how you died and who shot you, and allowing you to see the game through the remaining players. This pack is still in development, aiming for a release at the end of July or beginning of August." So, it is a killcam, showing you who killed you and how, I would assume through the eyes of your killer, as in COD2, AND it is a deathcam, allowing you to spectate from your teammates view until the next round. Hope that helps clear the confusion for some of you.
  16. Grin, thanks for all the support, but I do have a question. No, I'm not going to ask why TDM and dedi server files werent shipped with the game... I was hoping that maybe in a future patch (sonner would be better) it would be possible to incorporate more information about the servers in the server browser. Such as, whether or not anticheat is enabled (personally, if it isn't turned on, i have no desire to play there), respawn settings, time limit settings, map rotation settings, mods that are enabled, etc etc. It would certainly help when browsing the server list looking for a server that meets how you want to play. Any hope of having that added?
  17. yes thanks very much for the mod, except for the fact that since it can be used by someone in multiplayer while playing with people who do not have the mod, this "mod" is in fact a cheat. Personally, I would like to see modders wait until the game has something built into it that restricts the use of mods to servers that have them enabled, like in GR1. Otherwise, you have an unfair advantage when using it, which is, by definition, cheating. Everyone in this community has been up in arms about the lack of an anticheat, and yet, a "mod" that increases your firepower relative to the rest of the players and gives you a FREE sniper scope on any rifle in the inventory is viewed as a GOOD thing? Not quite understanding the logic... So, knowing it can be used in multiplayer, why release it when there is still no proper mod support? Unless the mod functions as a mod, it is no longer a mod, it is a HACK. A CHEAT. Why not wait to release it? The modder is just as responsible to the deterioration of the community as those who use it, in this case.
  18. anyone know if the AI in SP mode still reacts poorly when given an order on the fly with the mousewheel? They react much better when given an order with the tactical map for some reason. When using the mousewheel, they almost NEVER go where I tell them or cover where I tell them, they just sit there and say "OK, I'm here!" When they havent moved anywhere CLOSE to where I told them to. Also, anyone know if the sound cutting out issue has been resolved? I'm talking about the one where if I disable EAX, it works fine. If not, my own gun sounds are muted/ gone, and other sounds are affected too. Just wondering if those issues were part of the patch, bc, alas, I have to get some sleep and won't be able to check it till tomorrow night. THANK YOU GRIN FOR THE SUPPORT!! It is an awesome sign that fixes came out so early! For anyone who hasn't, there is an article on this very site, www.ghostrecon.net, that details some of the things coming in the june patch; it's an interview with a developer I believe. GREAT things are coming! THANKS AGAIN GRIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
