bogiegraphics
Hello All, Operation: Hostile Oasis is now ready for the public. Again, thanks to all who assisted in the testing and exceptional suggestions. All version are working and we have not had any errors on the servers. Below is the information: Bundle Location -> http://www.diverecovery.com/graw2/coop_bogie_oasis_v2.zip Co-op Mission based on Grin's Ageia Island Bonus Mission Author: Bogie File Size: 5 Mb Version: 2.0 Web Screen Shot: http://www.diverecovery.com/graw2/oasis.zip Description in quotes OPERATION: HOSTILE OASIS The enemy terrorist organization under General Sanchez has acquired the means to make a weaponized chemical nerve agent on the beautiful tropical island of Ageia. Intelligence has indicated that the island’s beaches are heavily mined with the new DAVROS mines and resistance is expected to be high. Your Mission: 1. Deploy and detonate C4 charges on all mixing canister’s control panels to render the chemical combinations inert 2. Recover the weaponized chemical formula 3. Detonate C4 on the Rebel’s deployment helicopter 4. Extract off of the island These operations (Day, Night and Fog versions) are based on Grin’s Ageia Island Bonus map and contain 184 enemy soldiers. Approximately 30% of the AI Enemy troops have been rearranged for each version so that they are not in the same locations. It is recommended for 2+ players and has been thoroughly tested on dedicated Web and LAN servers. There currently are no known issues in Version 2. Beta Testers include Anthony, the teams at Ghostrecon.net, graw2.pbwiki.com, Viper and his team @ AGB (agbgaming.com), Porter & Twix from Com Clan and =EP= Gamers clan. Thanks for taking the amount of time to make this version the best possible.

davros
Lol...davros mines Perhaps I should render a texture with a darlek stamped on it for the mines Hmm....I wonder if we could make a darlek shaped tank! That would be fun...silly, but fun. Thanks for the props mate and an extra special thankyou for your support of the wiki both in updates and in your missions and your active support of the community here! I am sure many many more people will start to explore mission making as a result of seeing the wiki on the mission load screens and in the mission. and that means more fun for us all. As Rocky said in another post.....it's boom time for GRAW2 coop again...and that's all thanks to you, Legacy, AJ and the many other guys that have stepped up and taken the time to revive GRAW2. Hey Legacy, sorry to hear you were unwell, you got to get out of that damp old place (UK) and come to sunny Oz! 39 degrees C. here today! Hope you fully recover soon and we can see you back posting like mad soon. Thankyou. Dav

davros
Hi Bogie, we played this mission last night a few times and we just loved the mines. There was much chortling! No just 'cos they are mine either. They really add to the tension in the mission. You'll be ammused to know that I was blown up by one of my own mines too! How rude! We did agree that there could be even more of them...and placed in the grass and water too - as they are a bit too easy to spot in the sand. Perhaps if it's ok with you, I'll make a local version for our LAN nights that has more "sneaky" placement of mines (grass/water - tripwire? etc.)...I might even see if I can randomise their placement in the script too...nasty! Would that be ok? We also thought that it would be cool to use them in an open map to... 1) Change the script to have the mines explode on enemy contact - ie. have a "friendly" minefield on a map. I am thinking a defend style start, where you watch the enemy advance towards your position and into the minefield and KABOOEY!!! That would be a laugh! 2) To make the players navigate a minefield....while under fire of course They'd need to move cautiously and it would add some drama as the either cleared or carefully made their way through. Ahhh...guess I best just make a mission hadn't I! Dav.

Would that be ok? Glad you liked and am excited that the mines worked as planned!! I wanted to make the game very playable and could have added more mines (as I believe Viper also suggested), but just didn't want it to be too difficult or unrealistic. For this first use of the mines, I didn't want to stick them in the grass, even though it was very tempting I've also modified maps to our own LAN user group's needs, so go for it.
