RileyFletcher_01
We are playing our new TOS mod. When I host it works fine. When another guy hosts it crashes after about 30 seconds. He reboots server and it works just fine. Running server on GameRanger. Second problem. When either of us host, the new enemy weapons in Firefight mode show up correctly. But the new skins (German and Italian replacing Russians) only show up when I am hosting, not the other guy.
Rocky
Sorry dude beats me. I was going to say his install is somehow different from yours, but if it works after he restarts the server, that's weird.
RileyFletcher_01
Sorry, I should have posted earlier. We finally figured out the problem and it was quite obvious. The host was running the mods backwards; he thought that the mod HIGHEST on the list was highest priority. We reversed it and all is well now. Strange, though; I wonder why the enemies had the new TOS weapons even though they had original skins.....
wombat50
I wonder why the enemies had the new TOS weapons even though they had original skins..... Maybe it is how the files are read alphabetically? For example, if a map folder is first in the list and a texture is altered any subsequent files of the same name in the the rest of the map folders will take on the new texture. Not saying that is the answer but it may give some insight into the puzzle. Edited April 11, 2013 by wombat50
Rocky
Ah, interesting. I wonder how long it took you to figure that one out lol.
VeLocityChaos
Sorry, I should have posted earlier. Strange, though; I wonder why the enemies had the new TOS weapons even though they had original skins..... Probably due to the version number in the file. IIRC if the version number is higher, it won't matter if it's in a folder belonging to a mod that's on a lower priority or not - the engine will still prefer it. teppe
It was the wrong priority on the mods........... ;-)
