CR6
Miracle on Ice 2? Not if we Canucks can help it! I guess we will know tomorrow Some of you may know Canada is an ice hocky-crazed country and have produced some of the best players the world has known. So it was pretty embarassing in the 2006 Turin Olympics when we placed 7th. Now there are high expectations for our team to win gold here at home. Things were going well until a few games ago when we ran into a brick wall named Ryan Miller, goaltender for the US team. Miller and the US team did their country proud to beat Canada incidentally near the date of the 30th anniversary of the Miracle on Ice. More with regards to the Miracle on Ice - this year the Russians were shut out of the semi-finals, and even Putin was reported to state that he was not happy with the performance of the Russians in the Olympics this year. The Ruskies have to get cracking if they want to put on a good show in Sochi 2014. http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20100226/sp_wl..._20100226175211 Anyways, looking forward to a great Canada-U.S. rematch in the gold medal game tomorrow! Whisper_44
Good game Cannuck, the war of attrition is over, and the great white north can savor the medal they've been longing for.. I held out hope until the very end. See you again in 4 years
CR6
Well you Yanks sure didn't make it easy for us! While we were all worried about the Russians and the Swedes, the under-rated young guns on the US squad were outstanding the whole series going undefeated until today. I think the whole nation here fell silent when the US tied it up with 30 seconds left in the game. But in the end we Canadians couldn't ask for a more memorable ending to cap off an amazing Olympics - Sidney Crosby scoring in sudden-death overtime is one of those sports moments that our kids will be talking about for decades to come.
