  1. In the UK mate if theres a chance they can shoehorn some cash out of you they will and if they are "thinking" about something its a good bet that at some point it will be introduced. Petsfed, I get the same errors when i've tried to watch clips from the office from the nbc site, only way I can see to get round is to use a proxy server. Just hope the BBC dont cotton on to that one or everybody on the planet will have to pay them a fee because they "could" view their content.
  2. I've no argument with having a licence if you've got a telly, but if you have a PC that has access to the internet why should you have to buy a tv licence because they dont secure their streaming services, it certainly wouldnt be fair if all the subscription sites made their sites accessible to everyone then mailed you asking for a monthly fee because you "could" access their sites. As Dalliance said, it should be a closed site and you get a password if you buy a tv licence.
  3. I see your point, the beeb transmit their programs on the internet without securing it for licence holders only but because you can receive the internet then you must pay the fee whether you watch the channels or not. Bit like a busker in the subway charging 15 quid a show and because you walked past and were able to listen then you have to pay him the 15 quid regardless of whether you listen to it or not.
  4. BP got caught out by some very shoddy photoshopped command centre photos, the originals were taken in 2001 and screens were badly cut and pasted onto them, they also faked a shot from a helicopter cockpit Full read up here http://www.americablog.com/2010/07/bp-photoshops-fake-photo-of-command.html and http://www.newscientist.com/blogs/shortsharpscience/2010/07/faking-it-without-conviction.html
  5. "An international orbiting money pit" I like that mate, gave me quite a giggle.
  6. Yeah I suppose its like one of those geode crystals but on a massive scale, its amazing the stuff you can find when you've got 10 minutes to kill
  7. I thought the exact same thing, amazing place isnt it.
  8. No, not really, dont want to go all conspiratorial on you but this was a really good post on a conspiracy site, the pictures are absolutely out of this world, a mining company found a vast cave full of crystals. Really big crystals. http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread592042/pg1
  9. Sorry to run back to 9/11 but i've just had a read of this about the speed of the plane, its interesting reading http://pilotsfor911truth.org/911_Aircraft_Speed_Deets.html
  10. IF you've only just got it take a look at this little beauty Rocky, i've got one linked up to mine and its great, plays pretty much any video format, music and pictures too, you can stick a wireless dongle in it, wire it up to your router and access your network share, it'll play youtube videos too. I use it for streaming all my videos off a big USB drive. It's well worth the cash. As for 3DTV I had a look at the one in the new pcworld by me, looks fantastic but at just under £2500 for the package, (tv, 3d bluray and 2 pairs of specs) I think i'll give it a miss for a while yet. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Western-Digital-Internet-Streamer-Television/dp/B002LZUHMI/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1278723936&sr=8-3
  11. Wont make much difference if Korea start throwing nukes about http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/northkorea/7745370/North-Korea-threatens-all-out-war-over-warship-sinking-report.html
  12. I absolutely respect you for trying to be the best that you can be in your chosen profession, anyone who does that deserves a bit of admiration for the hard work that it is, but, and this applies to any profession, and that is the scientist of today knows much more than the scientist of 10 or 20 years ago and who's to say the same wont apply in 20 years time. So any opinion that they give will be based on what they know at that particular time, years ago doctors said leeches would cure pretty much anything, today its vaccines, in 100 years times they may well look at vaccines and laugh the same as they do now with at the cure all leech.
  13. They are? Damn, thanks for the heads up mate
  14. In the 70's there was an outbreak of flu in america, the virus killed 1 person, the vaccine killed 25. In the latest round of swine flu more people died from the virus than the vaccine but there was 1 confirmed case, if that was my son or daughter I wouldnt have been happy. Most people infected with swine flu just get normal flu like symptoms. Would we have had more deaths if the vaccine wasnt rolled out? We'll never know but i certainly wouldnt take a vaccine for a disease that in most cases wouldnt kill or seriously harm you. Vaccines have their place. I absolutley agree with that but are all vaccines necessary? And are we trying to immunize ourselves to too much and messing up our own immune systems?
  15. Oooh he doesnt seem too happy, if you'd messed up the save yourself you'd kick yourself but if someone else is taking responsibility for the data then they really need to do it properly.
  16. Thats amazing, but for some mad reason about 1.30 I could hear the opening from beat it start up in my head.
  17. German film makers? Does this mean that old retired couple are gonna be accused of downloading "Hans and Klaus play hide the schnitzen-gruben!" http://www.thelawyer.com/which?-makes-form.../136039.article
  18. Well I think they screwed up that line in the first 2 words NQ
  19. Its the farmers that worry me, they buy all this fertiliser and nobody ever sees it again, what are they doing with it eh? They've been screwed over with the prices on milk, meat and grain, then they had to deal with the ballsup over mad cow/bird flu/foot and mouth, you mark my words theres payback brewing and its got farmer giles bootprints all over it. That posters a bit worrying though, almost like paranoia come to life. And gold help the bloke who's working night shifts, he's always got his curtains closed.
  20. I always use nero burning rom for all my dvd's mate, and I never set dvd burning faster than 8x even though the dvd's can manage 16x, call me paranoid but I can wait the extra few minutes it takes. Never really liked the all the extra nero waffle either when burning rom does everything I need it to do.
  21. Have you seen this one yet Calius? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOJv4JGBrxQ RFID as it could be. Not sure where I first saw it but it could be ats
  22. I bet you arent half glad to be back, nice to see you're well enough to get on here mate
  23. Thats so shiny I can almost smell the polish from here. Nice one mate
  24. As somebody posted on the eurogamer site, how did they come up with a figure of 95%? How can they know how many people couldnt connect? Even if only 100,000 people were trying to play I wouldnt call 5% of that a "small group", they cocked it up with the RVS servers and it looks like history is repeating itself.
