  1. Back when GR1 was in it's prime I was used to having problems with new mods or new equipment and could get it resolved fairly quickly. I do not remember ever having a catastrophic failure however. Last week I had this particular error come up and it actually caused me to have some problems navigating online so I did a clean install of windows and checked to make sure I had good drivers, no conflicts and updated programs, such as AV, and seemed to have everything in working order and created a restore point, or so I thought anyway. I then moved on to GR1 and the mods I wished to use but did not activate them all. I noticed when I went to deactivate some that it was causing some issues such as when at the screen where you would choose your load out the weapons and their names were replaced with a highlighted rectangular box. I remember having that problem before and if I couldn't figure out the cause I was guaranteed that one of my clan mates had the answer. Anyway, I decided to put GR down and find another way to spend my time and when I came back a couple days later I found that no matter what I did I could not get GR to load. I tried running as administrator, replacing the exe file, removing mods and anything else I could think of. Nothing worked so I went to hit the restore point I thought I had made. Nope. Nothing there. I don't know what I did, did wrong, or simply did not do but I had no restore point. Before I get started, again, I go to the fridge and grab a beer. Clean install of windows. Check. Update all programs and drivers. Check. Everything working? Check. Create restore point. VERIFY CREATION OF RESTORE POINT. Install GR. Install Desert Sie.......Catastrophic failure. What the!!! Time to see if my restore point is still there and if it works. Yes it was there and yes it worked. After that I installed GR and all the mods I knew I wanted without any hitches. The only thing that really confuses me is "Verify creation of restore point. Install GR. Install Desert Sie.......Catastrophic failure. But restoring to the exact same point and trying again works.....0.o. Is it because I am running windows 10 and the game was designed for something closer to a 386?
