I played PC GRAW2 coop campaigns (tried anyway...) with a friend over internet last weekend but we had a major problem... He just bought the game and we both tried to play with the latest patch (1.5) and all updated drivers. He is on a DSL connection (up to 500k/s only) and no router, using the free AVG anti virus software with his windows firewall on. Because I am on a faster cable connection ( up to 7 MB/s) with Kaspersky antivirus, and Win firewall also on ( on a router), I tried to create and launch a Online Coop Campaign with mission #1, mission #2 mission #6 and mission #7 BUT HE COULD NEVER JOIN my password protected game.! I got the right password and I saw his name ‘joining’ my game launch menu. HOWEVER’ he got a «waiting for the server» message, a connection error instead, and got disconnected even if he tried repeatedly. THE STRANGE THING THOUGH IS WHEN WE TRIED the other way around, it worked! When he similarly created a sever game for mission #1, I could join the game and we played COOP fine though mission #1. WHY ? If we have more players , I would want to use my faster PC and faster connection to create and host a ONLINE COOP CAMPAIGN game , not his . We are both on XP with mid-range dual-core CPUs, 2Gb ram and good GPUs( 8800GT and 8800 GTS) Can someone tell me what to do ? GRIN ? Any one ? Thanks! PS: things worked fine to GRAW 1 but do not seem to work fine with GRAW 2 online . Why ? I am getting a bunch of friends to buy GRAW 2 to play online but I hesitate now… ALSO : GRAW2.exe is in the exception list of programs in the XP firewall

Yes Say around 7 or 10 $ for map packs of 5 to 7 maps around 12 $ to 15$ for map packs of 10 + maps PROVIDED a lot of information is available about the maps AND their difficulty levels known before purchasing NOTE also : my experience to date with most mod maps ( coop ones) has been mixed. Most are too hard for casual gamers. That is, they do not scale well for different type of players (for casual to advanced players). If you want Graw + Graw 2 games to survive and thrive, you need casual gamers as well on board. Having only hardcore gamers on board is not enough. I asked questions on this forum about the best mod maps for casual players ( [GR] coop maps) and I am getting hardly any answers. Me and my friends are casual gamers (the 8 of us all have limited time ( jobs + family) but are willing to pay for retail games and add-ons if they are good. If we cannot enjoy playing once in a while maps that are accessible as well to casual gamers, then we will soon be lost to this community and will put our dollars elsewhere. It is THE critical challenge: have new maps that are well done and scalable, that is, playable by both casual gamers as well as hardcore gamers. And yes, then, we will gladly send the money to modders or GRIN.

Played last weekend with friends [GR] GRAW 1 Coop Mod maps and it was lot of fun. We are casual players and it was the first time we played [GR] coop mod maps. We played some maps from the RPGHARD map pack and the Desert #1 mod map. And Medal of War. Some are quite hard and frustrating at the beginning and we abandoned some of them in order to move on to others (getting shot continuously from computer-controlled snipers from far away, after respawning and respawning, is not that fun ...). Any suggestions you may have for casual players? Map packs or individual maps in [GR] Graw 1 or 2 to start with for casual players ? Let me also here thank the map makers. They do great work. But I guess we are not as good players as them, and as casual players, would like to start with maps that are a bit easier to go through ( in 'recon' mode, particualrily). Thanks for the suggestions. Are you saying, basically, that all GRAW 1 [GR] coop mod maps are difficult ? Any GRAW 1 maps you would suggest for casual palyers that would not be too difficult ?

Offline LAN COOP mutiplayer not working in GRAW2 : DESCRIPTION: when the router is NOT connected to the internet , starting a multilayer game after the host computer has loaded the map up to the team selection screen, client computers cannot join the game . The client computer(s) 'hangs' when it is 'waiting for the server' and never joins the game ( connection error). I am talking about a GRAW 2 multiplayer lan (coop) campaign game OFFLINE using a router (that is with NO INTERNET connection). It works fine with GRAW1 though. Why ? And, WITH the INTERNET connected to the ROUTER, GRAW2 lan (coop) campaign game work fine. All suggestions to date did not work for me ....but thanks for the efforts. Indeed, you are right BOTA:X, i am talking about a lan campaign game OFFLINE using a router (that is with NO INTERNET connection). Because WITH the INTERNET connected to the ROUTER, it works fine. Have been using D-Link router Di-604 (just wired connections) and also tried with a Di-624 ( wireless but using only wired connections) . Always worked fine with all other games including Graw 1. Do not really understand the problem here when you are offline. Why would an internet access be required if you have a lan server with all the computers in the same room connected through a router ? Thanks for trying to help by the way. Mattias, it did not work today when tried it over lunch today with two computers (when i had a bit of time) after unplugging the internet link to my router. Even after selecting twice (or three of four times even ) the local LAN CAMPAIGN option, the same happened again (waiting for the server message followed by connection timed out /error) . My sense is that both computers just try to access the internet for some reason.. I guess i will have to wait for a patch. Do you have any more suggestions ? Many thanks again for your help. Hamachi means you are connected to the internet. He is trying to set up a local lan where all the machines are in the same room. Wrong,we use 'Hamachi' when we use Lan server it was really useful during patch 1.03 issues with internet. Hi RPGHARD Actually, you are WRONG. I had a bit of time to test hamachi over lunch time with two computers. Hamachi requires an internet access. As soon as i unpluged the internet link to my router, the himachi network no longer worked. Anyway, thanks for your attempt to help .. Mattias, Thanks for the tip. Yes this problem is weird. Me and my friends never had that problem with GRAW 1. Can you clarify what you mean by 'selecting twice' exactly? When i start in mutiplayer, i chose lan only, and then create a lan campaign game. Do you mean to go back to multiplayer and then click again «LAN ONLY» ? Thanks in advance for your response. Coop is why i bought GRAW 1 + 2 and I am encouraging friends to buy both games as well. Coop is the best and most fun way to play GRAW 1 + 2. GRIN did a good job with coop modes in both games (tested GRAW 2 only via internet so far though). Keep up the good work!

Can someone tell me me why trying to play a Lan Coop Campaign offline does not work ? When i try to set it up via my router when the router is connected to the internet, it works. But when the router is NOT connected to the internet, it does not work. The client computer 'hangs' when it is 'waiting for the server' and never joins the game ( connection error). I am setting up a LAN party at a cottage over a weekend (where we have no access to internet) and would love to play GRAW 2 PC coop lan campaign. Anyone knows a work around ? A way to do it without my router being connected at all times to the internet ? Thanks in advance !
