  1. Problem solved. I now run the game on 91.47 drivers, but it was not until I reinstalled the game that it ran like it should again. Not sure how this could've happened, aside from maybe some file settings referring to my old gfx card/drivers.
  2. Well, it appears I started a new thread just in vain. I'm also running a 7950 but the GT version on my computer and using the same drivers (93.71). I also have this issue so it sure must be driver related, because I have also tried these newer drivers on my 6600GT w/ the same result, i.e. crash to windows. Somebody said to upload the ike.log file, and I guess I might as well do it, as I think it may relate to the same problem. Here's its content on my machine. ***** User's system configuration ***** CPU: GenuineIntel 3010 MHz Pentium 4 RAM: 1024 MB O/S: Microsoft Windows 2000 5.1 Service Pack 2 build 2600 Ghost Recon (RELEASE) version = 1.4.0.0(0) RSDisplayMgr::CreateGameWindow: Creating a 1280x1024 window at 0,0 on monitor LG FLATRON L1980U(Digital) attached to NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GT RSDisplayMgr::CreateGameWindow: Game running on primary display LG FLATRON L1980U(Digital) attached to NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GT HAL (hw vp): NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GT R5G6B5 RSFILEDATA: FindFile could not find file ike_fx_fire_type2.tga RSFILEDATA: FindFile could not find file ike_fx_fire_type2.rsb Unable to find ike_fx_fire_type2.tga anywhere. 3. Just installed my new XFX 7950GT w/ 512MB and thought from now on playing would be a smooth ride. Well, at least GRAW now runs smoothly, but it appears that GR1 is not compatible w/ nvidia drivers 93.71. Since my new gfx card is probably not going to enjoy the old 6x.xx-something drivers I used before I'm clueless as to how I'm going to be able to keep up my GR gaming. What happens when I load up the game is, the menu screen comes up as normal, but having a mouse pointer looking like a big white square abt 1 inch across. When I try to launch a game it crashes to desktop w/ an error message. Any suggestions would be most appreciated!!
  4. I have to say I agree on every single point mentioned in Warlord's initial posting. Don't make GR:AW look/feel more like all the other games out there in the hope of stealing their users. GR had a good fan base for several years, and imo it would still have been strong had there been a good solid anti cheat out there. I loved the balancing and structure of GR. -Easy access to game rooms and a smart way to keep track of your teammates/competing clans, is essential for survial of the game. Gamespy doesn't do any of that for me. I detest it. -I don't want a CS type "buy kit before you play" setup. If I wanted that I would've been playing CS already. -Last man standing WAS what GR teamplay was all about. Simple and addictive fun. -An anti cheat is essential for the survival of this game, regardless of everything else they try to fix. W/o it, well all now where we'll end up. Flaming/accusing/trash talking were everyday occurences. I could go on a lot longer, but... oh well I won't.
