New Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 2 Expansion Exclusively for Xbox

The Ghosts go to Kazakhstan

Ubisoft announces new maps, missions and modes exclusively for the Xbox® version of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® 2. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® 2 MultiMission (working title) will provide a wealth of new single and multiplayer missions that plunge Xbox players into the dangerous, heart-racing world of the Ghosts, an elite military team who is the first and last line of defense on the battlefield.

Players will experience all the exciting fast-paced action of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® 2 as they face fresh challenges and discover new options for completing mission objectives. In this installment, the Ghosts will be outfitted with an innovative arsenal that is entirely new to the franchise. In addition, players will be able to choose new skins and specify multiplayer kit restrictions.

Gamers will discover a total of 11 exciting single player missions, in which the Ghosts fight through some of Kazakhstan’s harshest terrain, in addition to 16 multiplayer maps. Extensive multiplayer content will not only include the game modes that made Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® 2 the No. 2 game on Xbox® Live™, but also add two new ones exclusive to Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® 2 MultiMission (working title).

With more than eight million copies sold, the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® series has established itself as one of the most realistic and modern military shooters today and has transformed the online multiplayer experience. Developed by Ubisoft’s award-winning Red Storm studio, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® 2 MultiMission (working title) will be released worldwide in Summer 2005.

About Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® 2 MultiMission (working title)

The Kazakh President has been assassinated by a Pakistani warlord attempting to take control of the country. Follow the Ghosts as they work in concert with U.N. forces to track him and his military across Kazakhstan. The Ghosts are the only chance to thwart his attacks against high profile targets and to prevent national devastation.

All i want to know is and i asked this the first time they said it was coming a mounth ago. With a NO comment on the ??? i asked at this time, But is the new CD going to be a single where you have to use the CD and lose the GR2 maps from the normal CD or is it going to be like the Halo2 expansion CD where its a CD you take home and down load to your hard drive?

If i must say i hope its the Down load CD becuase last thing i want to do is keep switching CDs to play diffrent maps from both CD's losen time and keepen the room open to friends when we want to go back to a diffrent CD just to play the same game! But i did hear a rumor that this CD is for more the people without LIVE but still the LIVE guys can get it or wait for the DL soon after. So if the rumor is real than my hopes are good and its like the Halo2 version where you just DL it to your hardrive and still use the old GR2 disc! Can only wait and see i guess and hope its not like GR and GR:IT was where you always wanted to play the other maps on the other CD after the room gets going.

But after reading this it makes me think its not a DL to HD from the way he says it.

in addition to 16 multiplayer maps. Extensive multiplayer content will not only include the game modes that made Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® 2 the No. 2 game on Xbox® Live™, but also add two new ones exclusive to Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® 2 MultiMission (working title). Maken it sound like everything from the normal GR2 game modes are on this CD so all we missing is the maps from the first GR2! :( Love to have more stuff but not at the lose of everything on the first CD!

I hope it's for downloading to the HD

Does anyone know if this cd gonna pack downloadable content 1, 2 and 3? Would be great for the non-live users.

I'm realy looking forward to the new missions and maps.

I hope the missions are not that linear, and I would like to see buildings wich you can enter.

Here is some good news...

Features :

More tactical approaches in each mission: Missions are open-ended, and contain multiple objectives that can be completed in the order that the player chooses. Objectives can be approached from several directions and different strategies can be used to complete each objective.

Extensive multiplayer content:

24 multiplayer maps in both urban and rural landscapes, including some fan favorites from Ghost Recon 2.

24 multiplayer game modes including all the favorite squad, solo, and co-op game types made popular by the Ghost Recon franchise.

New character skins including all enemy skins seen in the single player campaign, the Ghosts in snow camo, and International Specialists.

More immersive environments: Expansive maps with new weather effects such as falling snow and sand storms create more realistic outdoor encounters.

Master 15 new weapons: including the SCAR (SOF Combat Assault Rifle), a Special Forces modular system entirely unique to the franchise.

And its called 'Ghost Recon 2: Summit Strike'
