    • 685 comments - fans are gagging for a real GR game. GET IT BACK TO ITS ROOTS UBISOFT!
    • I keep posting everywhere "you've already played the last great Ghost Recon game", by which I mean Wildlands - and Ubi will never have the money, or possibly the talent, to exceed that powerhouse of a Ghost Recon game.
    • So our Local Héros Français, recently posted another Ghost Recon Video, this one not exactly about Ghost Recon OVR (someone might actually be awake over at BiffySoft and may actually have been allowed to make a decision to stop calling it "OVER") -- but that's not what this post is about. It appears that there's been the realization ten years late (but far from too late) that  Ghost Recon Wildlands was the last game in the franchise that actually garnered real Fan enthusiasm rather than disgust and disappointment, produced revenue relative to production cost that actually made sense and paid the bills.  So, MathChef's latest video on GR (and my own looking at the back end of the retail portals he mentions corroborate) something really good might happen sooner with Wildlands than OVR... I don't have any access to the rumor mill MathChef does, so for me this is more based on the fumes of hope but does appear corroborated by retail portal listing (at the back end not public facing yet) -- including Steam... I actually got a choked up watching the video with nostalgia for everything that was good about the franchise since OGR and good again with Wildlands: the amazing Fans, Rocky and this amazing website that towers over the genre, the better in-game interaction in a more vertical tactical realism game design that's not intended to appeal to everyone, and ram fans of multiple game genres into the same tent. It was a really great time for tactical realism gaming... It might be again, if Developers are just supported and allowed to produce what TR Fans really want...
    • Burned more times on marketing hype and outright lies, I loved OGR, Wildlands, and most of the Sprinkler Cell games that it's been enough variable rate reinforcement to keep me a paying sucker for everything wearing the Clancy moniker -- though relentless p*ssed off and disgusted with the the French Company and it's ridiculous management, and I'm French... It's hard to imagine Ubisoft doing anything right, or resurrecting anything that resembles success no less bring a new Ghost Recon game over the finish line that resembles a tactical realism game. To be fair the tactical realism genre literally has the highest bar as far as what Fans demand for a game to even be considered a tactical realism game -- but they have done it... Gasp, deep breath, and my preamble continues: and with only a few exceptions Ubisoft has not allowed its studios anything like agile development that responds to Fan input, and the company is run by a complete nut that has burned an absolutely profound amount of money, IP and people to the ground, and insists that even with that for a track record he should remain in charge of the company in any and all negotiations for bailouts and buyouts -- which I'd think would send any sound business person running and laughing. But even swallowing the bitter pill the size of a house that is Ubisoft, MathChief did it again, another Details & News Leaks presented with his enthusiastic tempo of optimism, bumping up against all the things that get me here and optimistic too -- it's ridiculously infectious when you consider what a heinous hot mess, dumpster fire, and train wreck this publisher having done literally every that's possible to do wrong, wrong -- none of which would matter if they'd just produce a good tactical realism game...
    • And now this as well as other leaks that the project 'Over' may in fact be over before it even begins... With so many on the administrative payroll at Ubisoft (that aren't facing mass layoffs) it brings to mind what a departed Developer circa Wildlands said, where everyone actually producing content operationally has six or more people 'managing' their work -- that ratio likely has not improved which would only accelerate the money burn, and burn-out of people that actually create games. Editorial Comment: Ubisoft should have remained a publisher and never ventured into Studio acquisition and management, there were warning signs from get-go that it was a asset-stripping operation and an avalanche over-the-top hubris.
