Anthony
Interestingly I noticed the odd textures with the sandbags especially but I have also noticed it recently when playing other maps that I have been playing for some time and it is a recent phenomenon. The only thing I thought it might be is a recently installed update to the latest Nvidia driver for my GTX295. Maybe that isn't the problem at all. Will check the current beta versus an earlier beta. JohnTC02
Hi Anthony, The sandbag (and some vehicles/trees) problem in other maps was due to some texture problems with Bob's last beta version. Although there are still some texture problems remaining in this mission it should now be fixed in other missions. Try v1, the texture problems in other missions should be fixed. . I hope!! kaapo
Sorry, yes, I had v0.3 in my mission folder when we played Bogies MHP Toxic2........this time we removed v0.3 and Toxic2 worked perfect. Just the first objective target shows still 5 meters in the air but now the rest worked fine. This was just in case if somenody realized the same as well!? BikerBob
Hey MexBob, We played this map yesterday with a group of up to 5 players on a dedi. The AI's were very sleepy. At some point i was able to tap one AI on his shoulder before he started shooting. (Either he was dead tired by a week of nightshifts or he was dreaming) In the beginning of the map, where you join the friendly troops, there is some artillery that made the game very laggy. This is also at the end of the map but on this occasion I was unable to move until my game crashed. This happend for Anthony aswell although he got a "Error in the application" message. I didn't recieve any message. The other 3 players didn't crash and were able to finish the map. Suggestion: - more AI's. (like the very active ones John used in his last map Tabasco). - drop the artillery or reduce it. (it doesn't add to much to the map except for the noise and its side effects) - an extra moving tank Although there is some work to be done, I think this is a map with a lot of potential so keep up the good work! Greetzzz, BikerBob (thx Anthony, [DTA]Samurai, Gocho and Scorpie27 for testing!) Btw. Does anybody know how i can disable the red diamonds on a dedi. mexicobob
BikerBOB I have turned off the red diamonds in this latest version (v2). Also reduced the number of artillery bombs by half at the beginning and end. Changed the AI from mex_mercinary to mex_special_forces as that is what John used in Tabasco. ( I did not notice that much difference in the way they acted!). coop_mexbob_strongpoint_v2 We'll see how this flies! Bob
BikerBob
Hey Bob, Sounds promising! I'll try to get the team together and test it this week. Greetzzzzz, Bob
BikerBob
Hey Bob, We did a testrun on the v2 of this map but im sorry to report you that the AI´s are still very sleepy or in somecases even braindead. At several points in the map it was possible to push the AI´s around. Rick Dekkard made this video of us harassing an AI. The first artillery wave still made the game laggy for us. We didn´t finish the map so I have no info for you about the last wave. It was good to see that the red diamonds were gone. Thanks for that. Hope this comment will help you with this map. Greetzzzz, Bob (thx, Anthony, Gocho and Rick Dekkard for joining this testrun)
mexicobob
Ok, I tested and retested all day and finally got the AI to respond. Hope this takes care of that problem. Latest version is v3 Thanks for the video, it helped! Bob
kaapo
Hi mexicobob, I downloaded v3 (http://www.mediafire.com/?elzwvu1ziwc051o) yesterday but there are still many not responding AIs. BikerBob
Hey Bob, Did a re-run on the map but I have to agree with kaapo. The AI's are still sleepy. Greetzzzzz, Bob
mexicobob
OK, here we go with more changes. I do not know what happened, but all of a sudden everyone started running around like they should. coop_mexbob_strongpoint_v4 fixes most of the sleepy ones but not all. Try this one and if OK we will make it the final. Just shoot the sleepy ones and go on! By the way there are a total of 135 tangos in this mission now. mexicobob
Version 5 will be the last beta and also the final release. Thanks to all the beta testers. It took me a long time to get the AI to react as they should. MexicoBob
