Tri_Tard
so ive always wanted to skin some weapons but after i skin a weapon, the weapon is all shiny. i save the dds weapon file with an alpha channel (dxt5 argb interpolated alpha). but it has no effect on the skin and the weapon is still shiny. another thing, when i save the file at first with PS, i cant check the box that says: use alpha channel. (i hope that wasnt too confusing) any help would be greatly appreciated. Edited January 6, 2008 by Tri_Tard
swartsz
I have had the same problem a lot when i started skinning weapons for CoD4, i think i know what is happening. always save your texture as a new DDS file and do not save over the original texture. Just to be save, here is a picture of the settings i use:

I think it is because you are overwriting the original DDS texture, try saving it as a new file. sorry didn't see the last part of your message!
