  1. So right now I'm using this PC from work.  I'm not building a new pc until early next year probably. 

    Dell, Intel Xeon 3.2 GHZ, 1.5 GHZ ram, FireGL V3100

    It runs the FEAR demo on medium but not such a great framerate.  However it runs HalfLife 2 smooth as butter with everything on high, af 8x and the res bumped up fairly high.

    Anyway, I know HL2 is optimized very well and GRAW PC isn't even out yet but I'm hoping to play GRAW pc with medium setting. 

    So what do ya think my chances are?  :blink:

    Otherwise I'll have to buy a new gpu and I just don't want to do that for a PC I'll be giving back to my work.

    All the CPU and RAM are fine but the GPU I don't know. Does it support Shader 2.0? HL2 is quite old so that is not such a good ref....

  2. The editor is a thing we will keep updating as we go and as need arises from the community. The first step will come just a few weeks after the release when we give you the first version of it. It is the same as we use in development and thus needs to be made more user friendly before release. Right up until now it has been worked with and on so it wont be in the box from scratch. I trust the modders to be online though and able to download it pretty fast - you don't have to wait long at all - you won't have completed the game until we hit you with it.

    - Bo, can you comment on whether or not the first release version of the editor will allow modders to increase the CO-OP player number?

    Maybe GRIN left that out by accident. However, if the Ghosts have new high tech gear in 2013, maybe the C130 crews have new high-tech gear to help them spot the ground (do everything the Jump Master currently does).

    I'm digging deep here for this one.

    As I said this was no accident or as pointed out earlier big mistake. It is a matter of having the time to do it and put priority in to do it. For everything you do you need to leave something else behind when developing a game.

    Simple really.

    I recall reading this as well. I just can't find it. What would be better than speculating would be to ask Bo.

    Bo, please tell us again whether or not GR:AW will have an editor (modding tool) in the box.

    This means so much to us obviously, especially to the huge CO-OP portion of the GR community.

  5. WOW, No jump master? I might just have to cancel my pre-order. No way I buy a game that cant pass the "OMG I HAVE MICROSCOPE LOOK WHAT I FOUND!!!" test.

    Nit Pickers are a dime a dozen on any forum you visit, thinking they are shedding light on a important subject, when all they are really doing is trying to show that they know more than anyone else.

    I think some people missed HF's point, really. There are people on this forum who nitpick about ALOT of things, things people perceive to be "realistic" or not. Alot of people are also saying things look really awesome, and more "realistic", compared to 360. All HF is saying is that this HALO sequence is a not true portrayl of what he does in real life. He has the right to point these things out, and offer an opinion that differs from the now common "GRIN rockzor's" and such.

    Now if people cannot debate nicely in response to a realism critique, or a differing opinion, then you may find yourself on a little vaction.

    Did we say you could not debate? No. But we debate back. I think it is in place to motivate why you take some dev decision. OR we could just be quiet .... but I know you guys don't like that. So same rules apply for you as for us. I don't debate HF knowledge - I put in a different perspective from a dev point.

  6. This "end of the world they do not have a jump master" is cute.

    The reason is as always - sometimes you just don't want to delay a game more or remove a feature (HALO drop). If you as a developer decide that every detail no matter how big or large has to be 100% realistic and apeace everyone then I'll show you a game that take 10 years to do or will never hit market at all.

    Would you honestly rather have us remove the jump insertion than have it without the jump master. I think 99.99% would say hell no.

    One thing I have noticed about a lot of the video footage, is that there isn't a lot of guns with silencers in these scenes. Will this be something you could add to the gun like the front grip, or will only certain guns come with a silencer?

    You can put a silencer on if you like.

  8. I see what you mean about the crappy orange look, might be the monitor?

    OR "drumroll" the light. You guys need to get away from the old static light. If the sun is orange the HDR will make stuff orange - if it is bleak yellow/white it will make stuff pale. The Church map is very orange and so is two other CO-OP / SP missions. Others not.

    Each mission and MP level got different settings. Forget about coloring the texture much - when modding think of how the material will react with the sun setting it is used in. IF you put a guy in direct sun light - he will shine. If he is in a shadow he will be colored say bluish from the radiosity bounce.

    Mexicans are green/black with vests in MP - and their kit don't reflect light as much as the Ghosts.

    There is actually a MP Mex in one of the videos from the UK event.

    Yeah sounds good but IMO it makes the game look bad and unrealistic. I'm hoping I can turn all that crap off and just have normal colors and hue's right?

    Ok you got to pay attention in MP then. The thing is the only set up is Ghosts vs Mex. So if you did not see any Mex, means you must have been a Mex but never saw your team. Playing Sniper are we?

    Dude im trying to say what I personally thought, if I've upset you because I've given it some sort of criticism then I appologise, but no need to take the ######.

    To be honest there were 1000 people at the event and the GRAW stand was empty most of the time.  They had about 15 pcs on a lan for GRAW multiplayer and no-one was on it much.  We played Church and there was only 3 / 4 of us.  All we seemed to do was run around trying to find each other.

    The map felt like it needed at least 20+ players.

    Hey 1000 ppl just missed out on cool MP then

    We've found here that 3 vs 3 can work real well when you start to block supply lines and take zones form eachother. 20+ is real fun of course but then you need a team strategy or you will be toast.

    im a big bf2 fan but i think i will like it....

    Is it somewhat like Americas Army? Very slow paced and very teamwork oriented?

    Yeah I'm a bf2 fan and I liked it... but these damn chopper whores or wannabe pilots arent! :D

    The whole game has a sepia look to it.

    The skin / uniform etc was all different shades of dark orange.

    This pic kinda shows what i mean BUT he's close up. From a distance everyone looks all the same colour. Like a dark orange robot.

    Unfortunatley the skins on the version i played didnt look very good at all. But hey, the gameplay kicked ass and thats what we want. ;)

    I take it you did not see the Mexican MP opponents then? :)

    If they are orange I'm a Bunny Hopper.

    one question! if there is mexican opponents, then how in god they have Cross-com :D or you mean AI ?

    They don't and you don't in TvT. In CO-OP you do.
