When TrueGiga announced a massive new modding initiative for Ghost Recon it raised more questions than answers. However there is an air of mystery about this project that might surprise Ghost Recon fans in the not too distant future, so we've had a quick chat with TrueGige about his plans...

Hi TrueGiga and thanks for taking time out for this interview.

TrueGiga : Thanks for letting me share “Urban Storm” With the Community!

ROCKY : 0. What country are you in and what age are you?

TrueGiga : Thanks Rocky Im in the USA 37 years old.

ROCKY : Tell us about your gaming background in general first, including any modding you have Done.

TrueGiga : In 2001 I Created my First Clan called A_M_S Americas Mob Squad.
Under our Clan Name I Made Modifications for version 1.0.0.2 Including Maps Using 3DMax and also Missions did some Fixes in Textures.

ROCKY : . When did you start playing the Ghost Recon series?

TrueGiga : My Gaming started in 2001 when I downloaded the demo of ghost Recon! Then went on to buy the full game.

ROCKY : Did you play in any leagues or tournaments?

TrueGiga : Yes TWL, And also a other one I only remember the owners name bigal?

ROCKY : Have you modded Ghost Recon before?

TrueGiga : Yes Many times Sounds, Skins, Maps, Missions, Guns, let’s just say the whole game.

ROCKY : Tell us about this new project you are working on, Urban Storm. What is you intention for this mod, what will it contain?

TrueGiga : my Goal with “Urban Storm” was to bring talks of the game back out into the Open with hopefully some support from all our fellow Ghost Recon Friends.

At First the game idea was to try and give the game a fresh new start making it a new version Number 2.0.1.1 Adding Maps, missions, guns, kits, skins and remaking icons & exe to give it that new refreshed look that we all been looking for.

Also Re skin the Maps with Higher res textures remove all the old maps that came with the first release of GR and replace them with new ones from the Community.

There is so much Community made content that I wanted to make something of it!


ROCKY : What is it you like about the Ghost Recon series and what are your favorite aspects of any of the games in the series.

TrueGiga : from the start I liked how this game made you feel like you’re the one in charge! I have played many games.

Call of duty, AA, AA3, Combat Arms, Splinter Cell, and the list goes on. But none of them come close to the action you feel while playing GR! From peeking to dropping down to ground how you can swap guns, or grenades. it’s awesome!

ROCKY : Have you played many Ghost Recon mods yourself, what are your favorites?

TrueGiga : MANY! FrostBite, Winter Mod, City Street Large, and a lot more but one of my all time FAVS! Has to be Dangerous Babes =)
