Elmer Fudd Challenge! Posted by Rocky on Tuesday, June 16 2009
In a few days I'll be publishing details on just why P2 : A Cold Day in Hell will go down in history as one of the most remarkable Ghost Recon mods ever produced. Until then, why not kick start your own P2 Campaign by taking part in the Elmer Fudd Challenge!
The challenge was produced by Phlookian as an interesting aside to one of the P2 missions, but also to showcase the variety of effects that he managed to code into this particluar map. So if you like hunting wildlife (wolves, birds and fish!) install P2 A Cold Day in Hell, then download the Elmer Fudd Challenge and remember to post your score in our forums here. I believe there is a prize for anyone who manages to beat my score!

"P2: A Cold Day in Hell" Released Posted by Rocky on Saturday, May 30 2009
After six years in the making, the P2 development team around Migryder just released "P2: A Cold Day in Hell" - a colossal new mod for Ghost Recon with a huge campaign consisting of 24 brand new missions that pit the Ghosts against an old archenemy - a Russian separatist movement that threatens to plunge the world into a nuclear war.
The mod comes with far more new content than could possibly be listed here, suffice it to say that pretty much everything in the game has been overhauled - maps, weapons, characters, vehicles, UI, sounds, music, videos - the whole lot, so it comes as no surprise that P2 weighs in at just short of 2 GB installed (575Mb zipped download). But rest assured: Your download time and disk space are certainly worth it!
To sum it up: Do not miss this next chapter in Ghost Recon history! Download here, forum discusion here! (If you cannot download a 575Mb file, it is available on DVD here).

HAWX Help Posted by Rocky on Wednesday, April 15 2009
Not exactly Ghost Recon news, but this latest website from Ubisoft's Tom Clancy Universe is worth taking a look it. It's a really well put together help site specifically for Tom Clancy HAWX. I have to admit it's very neat, containing video walkthroughs of all the missions, for each platform. The videos are great for seeing how the pro's use each plane to complete missions. There's also an Extreme Maneouvres video section showing how to pull off some air skills, and also unlock charts to check which planes are unlocked after each mission. Visit the HAWX Help Site and check it out, even if you don't have the game yet, the video's are cool.

GRAW 2 PC 3rd Person Posted by Rocky on Monday, March 30 2009
Brettzies has just released a very cool new special edition of his extremely popular GRAW 2 weapons mod, an Over The Shoulder (OTS) version. This provides a 3rd person viewpoint rather than the default first person perspective, and it looks great! This OTS version grew out of inzane's GRAW 2 3rd person mod, which is only a 1Mb download. Screen by Warcloud
View a HD movie of this new mod here (soon!), then download Brettzies Weapon Mod OTS Edition! Forum discussion/feedback/support here! Oh, and if you are wondering what mission opening that is in the movie, it's Devil's Island, the new Co-op mission from JohnTC02!

Mod Archive Update - GRAW 2 Posted by Rocky on Sunday, March 29 2009
As countless modding communities throughout the internet attempt to find an alternative to Filefront, we've been busy re-organising our own massive collection of Ghost Recon series mods here at GhostRecon.net.Thanks to help from Pave Low, Davros and Tinker we have just about finished uploading the entire 10GB+ archive to a brand new download server. The next stage will be to update the download links for the 1000+ Ghost Recon files we have! This weekend we completed the entire GRAW 2 mod section, and not only that, we added a brand new download archive for Tom Clancy HAWX mods. With the change in download server we have implemented several improvements to the system, making downloading Ghost Recon mods eassier than ever. There will be no download queues, no security codes, no popups, no landing pages, just click and download! With the GRAW 2 files online, we'll be concentrating on the Ghost Recon, and GRAW mods next and will post updates as we make headway on this huge task.

Ghost Recon Mods Going Going Gone! Posted by Rocky on Wednesday, March 25 2009
In a move with devastating consequences for Ghost Recon fans everywhere, Filefront have announced they are closing down in a few days. As Filefront has been our download source for quite some time now, this closure will knock all of our Ghost Recon mods (almost 1000) offline. Until we find a new file hosting service, the only way to gain access to every single Ghost Recon mod after the end of this month will be by our 6 Disk DVD collection. Anyone with an interest in Ghost Recon, and Advanced Warfighter mods should visit our Download Section and start downloading like mad before Filefront goes offline at the end of the month. Modders looking to submit new mods to our download section should read this announcement.

The second GRAW 2 custom campaign to be released comes from GRAW2 co-op modder Bogie.

DYNACOMP Released Posted by Rocky on Wednesday, January 28 2009
That's a headline nobody expected to see, as DYNACOMP had become known as the greatest Ghost Recon mod never released. However, more than 5 years after it's conception, DYNACOMP is indeed released, with a caveat; the mod is incomplete - but playable. Parabellum has released this mod as-is, although modders who may wish to complete any aspect of the mod can contact him directly.Download DYNACOMP here, activate it as normal, and launch it as a New Campaign. You'll start on top of the embassy, good luck! For discussion on this release please go here. GWDS has started an interesting discussion on other Dropped Mods.

HAWX datablast Posted by Rocky on Monday, January 26 2009
Occasionally we like to look around at other Tom Clancy titles and one of the upcoming releases that has caught our eye is of course Tom Clancy H.A.W.X, and not just because it has a story tie in with Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. HAWX is shaping up to look pretty good, there's plenty of media around now, and the developers blog is definately worth a visit. For links to the latest info and a full Question and Answer session, visit this HAWX discussion.
