  1. I thought it was kool that you could actually have CONTINUOUS Mortars, at RANDOM TIMES, and i just learned how.... So i thought i'd share the fun with anyone else who wants it. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ First, Create 6 Effect's in (nearly) the same spot where you want this *1* mortar to drop. Next, (doesn't matter exactly which) label the effects as the following, and enter the type listed below.... Label: Type of Effect: Mortar 1 (a) GENERAL_TYPE08 Mortar 1 (b) GENERAL_TYPE09 Mortar 1 © GENERAL_TYPE10 Mortar 1 (d) general_type14(0.1)(25) Mortar 1 (e) damage(2)(0) Mortar 1 (f) explosion_large_type3(0)(3) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Now, Go into your script, and create a new script as the following: Group: *Default* Comment: *Random Mortar 1 Timer Set* Trigger: *5 Second(s) Elapsed* (what i have for the trigger is just, "Elapsed Time" for 5 game seconds, when the mortars will start to drop) Response: *Allow this block to be re-activated* <(Block Preserve) *Set Random Mortar 1 to expire in (a random number between 1 and 10* ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ For the last response, your going to have to create a new Timer tag.... (for the noobies 1. Select "TimerSet" and where it says "timer", click "edit", now create a new Timer called "Random Mortar 1". 2. for the duration this timer will be set for.... click the "edit" button next to QUERY, and from the drop-down menu, select "RandomNumber". 3. The low, is the minimum duration time, and the high is the maximum duration time for the timer...for this just use 1 as the low, and 10 as the high... 4. This all means that the computer will randomly select a number between 1 and 10, and set the timer to expire in that random number of seconds. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ FINALLY!!! Create your 2nd Script, and it should look like this.... Group: *Default* Comment: *Random Mortar 1 Timer Expired* Trigger: *Random Mortar 1 has expired* <(thats the timer we made earlier) Response: *Allow this block to be re-activated* <(Block Preserve) *Activate Mortar 1 (a)* *Activate Mortar 1 (b)* *Activate Mortar 1 ©* *Activate Mortar 1 (d)* *Activate Mortar 1 (e)* *Activate Mortar 1 (f)* ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ How to configure the response *Activate Mortar 1 (a,b,c,d,e,f) (For the noobies 1. This is a response; so for responses, click "Add". From the Drop-down menu...select "EffectActivate" 2. Now for the effect, from the drop-down menu...select "Mortar 1 (a)" 3. Do this for ALL of the 6 effects we made earlier (a-f) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ OKAY OKAY!!! YOUR DONE!!! I know it took a while, but believe me...get a couple of these baby's running...and you'll see its all worth it....BTW once you get the hang of it (after a couple times) It only takes about 2 minutes to do all of this. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Any feedback is greatly appreciated, especially if i have errors, like spelling.   2. Ok i got the first part to work, thanks . But for the effects..... From what i've experienced so far....1 effect by istelf does not actually visually create the effect (in my case explosion) I got the land mortars to work (took 5 effects at once), But i do not know about the sequential order of effects for a water explosion...can ya help me out further plz? Thx Also...For some reason i cannot get a Continuouse MORTAR LAUNCH sound, and MORTAR WHISTLE sound to work. I used the script, w_mortarlaunch.wmv, w_mortarwhistle.wmv, and i've had times where it plays once, but i cannot get it to play more than once (continouse) w/o having to create a script for each one!
  3. Hello; I need to know the steps on how to load the PlayerPlatoon into the Seals Boat (crrc.vcl in igor) I have the PlayerPlatoon (PlatoonRef) set up. This is what I have so far. Trigger: This Simulation is Initializing Responses: Block Preserve Set "Player Platoon *my Platoonref* to (the Player Controlled Platoon) Block Remove Trigger: This Simulation is Starting Responses: Block Preserve Place All members of "PlayerPlatoon" in Boat *the seals boat* Turn Off Platoon AI for player platton Bloack Remove Anything would be greatly appreciated. Also....I need a list of specific effects to make an explosion in water (Supposed to be a mortar round) THX ALOT FOR ANY INFO!!!
  4. Hey guy's! Ok so this is my first ever 3d model of a (whats supposed to be) m24 sniper rifle with suppressor. Now i've only had 3dsm 8.0 for about a day, so this is what i got.   5. ok i need to make a cylinder for the gun i'm making, for the barrel. I got the "ngon" part, and i have it placed, but....its only a circle....nothing more. Theires no 2 front and back, no nothing. Can anyone help me to actually make a Cylinder rather than a blank circle?

Well i think you could either extract the files out of the disk somehow, and send them to me through ubi, or msn or something...or you could actually send me the disk lol but i would rather you just send the data via internet, i think youwould rather too.

  10. First of all i would like to say i'm sorry about my other post stating that i had a cracked island thunder. I went out and bought the real one. and re-installed all my gr stuff. Second, I have 3d Studio Max vs. 7.0. And in the Desert Siege CD their are plugins for 3d SM 3.0 and 4.0. But nothing higher....so does anyone know how i can get either the plugins for 7.0, or just how to get it to work? Plus, how to i open a .gun file? Thx alot!, Murdericious
  11. What if i have a cracked island thunder? and if that doesn't make any difference really, where would i find "rsb.8bi"?
  12. OK.... i cannot find a download for an rsb converter. I found ONE but it did not work, it says "wrong version format" or something. Even though i checked off the "read only" and it is a rsb file. So does anyone know where to download the official rsb converter? and also...Can someone explain to me how to put a silencer on the m24 and all that jaz? Thx, Murdericious
