franglen
I am not trying to be a smarta..e but I have noticed in the Download section when there is an item with a Broken Link instead of clicking on the button directly below the Item and above the Download buttons there is a link saying Report Broken Link as per the cut & paste below. Why do the people write in their comment boxes intended for congrats or not remarks like quote"Fix the damned link!" ??? instead of using the Link which is there for that purpose? I have noticed from the dates the remarks are made that evidently they are not achieving anything whatsoever. I have used the Report Broken Link icon a couple of times now and the response is excellent. Plus I even receive an email advising me that the item is now available. Too easy! The point I am trying to make is that the majority of the wrongly placed remarks have not had the link repaired. Franglen :::: Rating: (1 Ratings) 12345 Report Broken Link <----Right Here!!! JohnTC02
Hi Franglen, Thanks for reporting the broken links, it's nice to see people doing it correctly, both files have now been fixed. I think it's human nature that when they see the option to comment on a download entry they don't look any further so don't see the report broken link option. Using that feature will send an email to Rocky and myself so we know there is a link that needs fixing, we don't have the time (or the patience, lol!!) to go through the thousands of downloads to check all the comments. RileyFletcher_01
This is one of the many reasons I wonder why you guys used GameFront when it constantly drops your links. I noticed some of the newer downloads have a different hosting page that leads directly to the link without all the countdowns and ads which is much more pleasant. franglen
Thankyou John. As I stated in my post, Using that link gets a very quick response as I have found. There are quite a few broken links I have found but have not reported them all and I apologise for that. I just didn't want to swamp you guys with a pile of em. I have quite a few FPS games and none and I do mean none of them matches this brilliant shooter. Some of these mods that people do are a sellable game in their own right! And they are all free! But there are quite a few unappreciable people out there judging from some of the comments I have read. Anyway....sorry for raving on.......I just can't help myself. Bless all of you guys & girls? at gr.net and keep up the good work. Franglen
JohnTC02
Thanks Franglen, By all means report any broken links you may find but as you say please don't swamp me with them as I normally fix all broken links myself. I've recently had my broadband upgraded from 10 to 70meg which make things a lot easier but finding loads of broken links in my inbox can be a bit daunting, lol!! Are you sure it's only 70 meg John? I hope you meant 70 GIG ? I only have 5 GIG a month and I blow that in no time at all. I guess the blessing I have with my contract is that my internet speed is slowed to 64Kbs per second. So I can still operate...... just like in the Dialup days See ya mate Frank
JohnTC02
Sorry Frank, I was talking about my download speeds, it's been upgraded to 70Mb/s. My usage is not capped so I get unlimited downloads.
franglen
That's a bit better John. For a while there I thought you were doing it harder than me and was considering passing the hat around Frank
