  1. JH - our server has 4GB RAM and crashes every single time the air stike hits. Anychance you could give me permisson to edit the map and remove that from the script plus change whatever is needed to substitute for the air strike's effect? I'd rename the map to keep it unique, full credit to you, etc. Basically, we all love the map, but we can't put it into the server map cycle without fixing the crashing issues. Fish I've given Fishmonger the right to remove the airstrike event of my map. I could do it myself, but I've been away from the codning awhile now. Is the resupply problem solved yet? If it is, I guess I could fix that rather quick if someone posted a code example how it can be done.
  2. Haven't seen that confirmed yet, but I have had my suspicions about it beeing the case. I will think more then twice before buy a game released by UBI/ATARI/EA no matter who developed it.
  3. I have never complained on GRIN, infact I think they given us more then they been paid for and cudos for that. As I wrote in a earlier post, it's the publicers as UBI, EA and Atari that needs to listen to what we want. Most of the customers don't want to make maps, but they want their game experience to last and one way is too give them alot of maps to play. Now you could include alot of maps when you release the game, or provide them with updates. But maps takes time to do and test and it will prolong the developing time thus costing more money to make and even let the competion get before you with a similair game and thus losing market. Another way is to sell them as expansions, but if you release an expansion to soon customers will get upset and demand thatthe maps should be released free as updates. So easiest would be to provide the community with the means to make there own maps and mods thus prolonging the games life expectance!

Wolfie your right, but if a developer/publicer wants to sell alot of copies they better provide good tools for modding because nowadays there are lots of other games that provides good tools to their community. Where would Valve been today without their modding community? Now we have a toolkit and don't know who to thank, GRIN or UBI? It should be UBI that provides means to GRIN to make updates and fixes for both the game and the editor, but today the publicers often releases a game long before completed and we the customers have to ###### for month and sometimes years to get our games fixed. As someone wrote earlier, I hate halv ass attemptes. My modding time is limited, I have a family and kids that need my attention. If I have to invent the wheel everytime a new game is released, well then I have better ways to spend both my time and my money. As for now I hold on to both very hard because there's no thrust to be given to gready publicers and my list of "banned" publicers is growning. Support a game even after the first 6 month and I keep buy your games, else I won't touch the stuff with a 10 foot pole!
  5. Dang nab it! I can set a prop to Indestructable, but can't find anyway to set it to destructable. and instead using a vechicle like the hemtt and then trying to use ExplodeVehicle, nothing happens! And if it did it would still would block the way. I've must have overlooked something because in Mission2 the fueltrailer first is set to indestructable, but later you can make explode. But I can't find any command for that in the script.
  6. Man that sucks ... I'm glad that I haven't had time to start fiddling with the objectives yet, but as I had planned to use them on my new one and built my map "physicals" due to that. I have to reconsider another option or just scrap the map before I put more work to it. Has anyone tried if the supply command functions yet? To much time just to test if the commands and functions realy works in [GR]. And it's time I'd rather used to build maps to play then just to test. Well, I better use my mapping skills (the few I have) into making mods for NWN2 instead.
  7. Well as I don't have access to a dedicated server yet, I only have tried this on "hosted" games and it do crash with 1 or more players no matter what. Something do it, and I can't find what. As for the map I'm slowly working on now, no CTD's yet. But I guess it's just a matter of time until I get my fair share.
  8. Wolfie ... not you realy confuses me. In the earlier post you want to spawn the tangos at start of match, but then you talk about trigger spawning out of sight. Well that was exactly what I wrote! And to do so one have to realy plan where to put triggers and spawn points. But enough on that. I'm not sure a "invisable" prop would let you walk thru them. And using RemoveVehicle also would destroy the illusion of reality. I'd better fire up the editor and test the "indestructable" switch ...
  9. Not sure what you mean here, but the problem with placing all tangos from the begining of the round is that the game would lag like hell. Then there's the option to reinforce if the ghosts takes out a group or vehicle. But I agree it would be better if one could change the tangos behavior after they spawned so they could respond on special actions. Where and when to spawn new tangos has to be very carefuly planned. I hate when tangos spawn rigt in front of you or in plain sight, it realy spoiles the gaming experiance. @Rav - I haven't had time to test the things I wrote about earlier in this tread, but I promise I will look into it as soon as I can!
  10. I'm not 100% sure but I think I tried that earlier when testing stuff and I'm pretty sure it should work. Another thought would to place a tank at a "bottleneck" and remove the zeus (anti-tank weapon) at starft up. Thu I haven't tried that, but GRIN have done that in the SP campaign. I can check both thinks up. I'll report back here what I find out.
  11. The Phoenix Soldiers' server also crashes right around the same time as the airstrike. I noticed this twice. silent_op According to Flim their server crashed at the "overfly" composition, not the "airstrike" at the military base.
  12. Thanks for the PM, Flim. When I read the crash message here too, I just realised it's NOT sure it's the same as my friend got when beeing dead while composition was running. Now, is it your server that crashes or your client. And if it's the client, is it only yours that crashes? I don't think it's the map it self because I haven't heard about crashes on any other dedicated servers due to this composition (3 jets beeing chased of by SAM's). There's been problems with the airstrikes that takes out the 3 tanks in the base later on, but not this one - it's been trigged when you passes the road "Paseo Muerto Cabeza". I've to guess on a corrupted installation or something ... i.e. if not anyone else has the same problem. I could remove the compositions, but they adds to the mood of the map and the airstrikes fills a purpose and removing them requires major changes to the map. But if the re-supply feature now works (haven't tested that yet) I can fall back to my original plan for that map. So I need more info, because I rather use my energy on my new map then fixing stuff on a old one that might not need fixing. If you get what I mean.
  13. I've started on a new map and I will have a restart test along every other thing to test while building it. Then I might find what is causing it to CTD. And yes it will be a tight, semi-dark map with random patrols and stuff and a bad ass choke point but not as bad as the Ghetto military base. Or maby not ... !

  15. Is this still an issue? I've tried to restart_match my own map thus activating the CTD bug, and BANG crashed right to desktop when I tried to spawn. Has anyone solved this bug yet?
