Militiaman
I lost my Windows XP Home Edition CD-ROM. I wanted to purchase another Windows XP Home Edition while they are still available as I want to avoid upgrading to Windows 64-bit for atleast three more years. I have been looking online at Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition SP2 Reinstallation CD 2006. Someone is selling a CD-ROM for reinstallation of Windows XP that came with a Dell computer for around $20. Are there anything wrong with these Windows XP CD-ROMs? I have heard some of these CD-ROMs only allow one installation and then the CD-ROM is destroyed. Dannik
If it's from a Dell, it's likely a restore image, not an actual copy of XP, and even if it is a proper XP cd, it's going to be tied to the Dell OEM code on the case of the computer it came with, more than likely.
