Hello everyone, I've been trying to get started in the world of mod creation for Ghost Recon and SOAF for a few days now. What interests me the most is the ability to create custom maps. I have a version of 3ds Max 5 and also a suitable version of Photoshop. I've been searching for the official tools from Red Storm Entertainment these past few days in order to add the necessary plugins to 3ds Max and Photoshop, but I haven't had any luck finding these tools. I have Ghost Recon on Steam, but it seems that they are not available there. Another thing I'd like to obtain is a plugin to import .obj files into 3ds Max 5. I have experience with Blender and I intend to model there and make the final touches in 3ds Max. Thank you very much for your attention and help. I'm eager to start creating for the first game I had the opportunity to play online when I was just 12 years old back in 2002.

So, I got a (legal!) copy of 3DS Max. It's a free educational license. Got it at the very Autodesk site. But the problem is that the oldest version they offered was 3DS Max 2010. We all know the export plugins worked fine with 3DS Max 3 to 5. Is there a way we could put those old plugins to work with newer versions of the software? In this subject, any progress was made before? I remember reading people said they tried and it simply didn't work, but there must be a way to 'update' the plugin.
