  1. Man, I couldn't even imagine being given an opportunity to shake his hand. Richest man in the world. Like shaking the hand of a President or the Pope. Or the host of Double Dare 2000. Okay that last one was unnecessary but I had to throw some comedy in there somewhere. I was wondering what's he like? I don't have anything against him cause yeah he's rich but he gives a lot of it away to charity and stuff like that so he's cool in my book. But Serellan's like this web site's Bill Gates. He's a legend here.

  2. Cause it probably would be. I mean to ask for a HUGE expansion is like asking a 200 pound midget to skate up an icy hill with boulders constantly falling towards him. I think the point Papa was trying to make is if GRIN hasn't learned from their mistakes with GRAW 1, what makes you think they're gonna correct em in GRAW 3 if they even decide to make it? And to think all the nay sayers would buy GRAW 3 if it was released is like that one employee at McDonalds or any other crappy job saying "Yeah whatever you say you're leaving for good but you'll be back" I make it a point to prove those people wrong and so does my friend. And to anybody who has ever worked at McDonalds, so have I so don't be offended by that cause I know what it's like. I agree the game's not crap. If I hated it as much as my friend, I wouldn't be playing it right now. And the only reason I am playing it is cause I love the weapons and the weapons mods in the game. But it is like GRIN took a step back with GRAW 2. If they would've kept all the features from GRAW and just added the weapons, new cross com feature(giving men orders through their cross com) and the ACUs, I think there would be more people playing. I'm not saying there would be a lot cause I know everybody was pulling for it to go back to [GR]. But I know my friend would still be playin it and we wouldn't need Hellgate and others wouldn't need Crysis or COD4. And another thing they should do is update the draw distance cause even Joint Operations had a further draw distance than this. Yeah the graphics engine for that game sux but that's just one company with that game. This game had Ubi and GRIN. But I think you're wrong to say all of us nay(however u spell that word) sayers would buy GRAW 3. I'd get all the answers I could about the game before buying it. Wait atleast a month before buying it. Wait until people have played it and beaten it and also wait for the first patch to see if it fixed anything important before I bought another Ubi-infested addition to the Ghost Recon series.

  3. Yeah I'd have to agree with that. A lot of times I could only see muzzle flashes in COOP and I'd be getting hit but I couldn't shoot them because of the draw distance. My friend would always say "I love how guys just appear out of nowhere and start shooting before you have a chance to see them" I'm still not giving in to Crysis cause the storyline's just whack. Not that this one's 100% believable but I dunno. Just think I could see myself getting tired of it faster than I did with GRAW and GRAW2

  4. Yeah I agree with Nutlink and dirtbag. Both games were pretty nice IMO but GRAW 2 just seemed a little too easy. Not sure if it was the new weapons or what but if just didn't feel the same. And there really was no support for 2. I think my friend's a little extreme saying it's what made him almost stop playing PC games. Cause he would have no entertainment what-so-ever. I could live without the medic cause me and him did alright in the first game without one. But they built this game up to be so great and then you find out all the great stuff is what the console gamers are getting. And then it's like "This is what your game looks like" Oh great thanx.(sarcasm) But GRAW 2 seems like they started over from scratch, added some new weapons and camo, and a few cool features and took out most of the good ones. Either we're getting no game at all or it's gonna be even worse(if that's even possible) than GRAW 2. I wish there would have been a tool to make bundling Brettzies' and Snow's weapons mods easy. Cause they're both so awesome but you gotta choose which one you like best and they're all that have really kept me playing.

  5. Yeah that is true forrester but it's really hard to say who broke it off when it's two companies involved with a game. You could blame Ubi from screwing over PC gamers but you could blame GRIN for going off to make another game. I think we all forgot something. Remember before the game even came out of just as it came out, we heard that story that there would only be two months or so to patch it? How do we know they didn't star working on Bionic Commando then? But I'm not just blaming GRIN they did all they could. Ubi just shafted us big time. And everybody's talkin about COD4 but I liked the WW2 series and I think they took the wrong approach with COD4 cause you're so limited with your units. Either U.S. Marines or British SAS. Or whatever the bad guys were. Kinda wish they would've put more units in to make it a little more epic. Like Army Rangers, Navy SEALs, etc. Only reason I came back to GRAW 2 is cause it gives me something to play when my friend's at work. When he gets home, we play Hellgate. He's not gonna play either GRAW cause he said that's what led him to almost never wanna play a PC game again. He was really hoping to get the Medic character cause that's what he's played as in other games and he really liked it. And we both loved the first person insertions. I don't think anybody will buy another GR game made by Ubi because of their track record with PC gamers. I really don't know what they have against us. Wish RSE could have a PC and console team working on two different games. Bring back more than 4 people with [GR] modes, make it so people can choose between ACUs, ABUs, DCUs, MARPAT(desert, woodland, and urban patterns) and Multicam, bring back all the old rifles and keep the new ones. Except for the PR-C and M8. Make the M99 unshootable on the run and inaccurate while standing, more accurate when crouched, and very accurate when prone. Grenade Launchers...sorry but they're meant for doing exactly what they do in the game. First person insertions in campaign mode with a realistic storyline and enemy. Not one we could conquer in less than a week. And while you're at it, go ahead and discover the body of Jimmy Hoffa cause we know none of that will probably never happen and if us PC gamers get another GR title from Ubi, it will probably be 3rd person.

  6. I'm kinda disappointed in both GRIN and UBI. Ubi for ditching PC gamers and GRIN for ditching the GRAW and GRAW 2 PC gamers for their new project. Really was hoping we'd get a new patch but now that they're working on Bionic Commando, I doubt we'll see that. And I'm really doubting we'll see another GRAW unless RSE makes it and that would probably mean having to play it 3rd-person which isn't happening. I was really glad when playing GRAW that I could see my guns. I loved the [GR] games on PS2 cause they were similar to the PC version except I think they had less teammates. But I also loved being able to fast rope out of the Blackhawk cause it put you there and gave you a sense of actually fast roping out of a BH or stepping out the back of a Stryker. Althought I think the back of the Stryker was too small cause I think they can actually carry 9 combat equipped soldiers and it looked like it was getting full with just four. But that was a huge let down, having just the cinematic scenes and seeing them fast rope out of the black hawk instead of doing it first person by pressing X. GRIN said we could mod it so we could have that but one: I'm not a modder and two: they never really said how. You got to do it like once or twice but it wasn't the same feeling cause even then, you weren't controlling your guy. He just automatically fast ropes out. Yeah it's a game but I think that feature made GRAW a lot cooler than GRAW 2. I was also disappointed how you had to set waypoints in the "Overview" mode which never let you zoom in or out so you really had to guess when placing a waypoint or remember where the enemy was by remembering a certain landmark. I wish it was like in GRAW where you could place WP's in the tactical map cause you could zoom in. You can zoom in with GRAW 2's tac map but you can't set WP's with it. Now what made GRAW 2 so great was the fact that they implemented ACUs into the game which is what soldiers are wearing in today's wars. I also like the new weapons. M14 and M416 mostly. But what has kept me playing GRAW 2 are the modders. Specifically the weapons modders. Even more specifically Brettzies and Snowfella. Their weapons and sounds are amazing and make the game so much more interesting. Anyways, that's my newspaper-sized article review.

  7. And I hate to be a jerk but I think those are Hatch gloves. I'm almost positive I saw something in the credits thanking Hatch and they do make shooting gloves. So does Oakley but they just started making em and it's only one model last I checked. Hatch has numerous gloves. Anyways, you gotta remember there's not just one pattern for MARPAT. There's woodland, desert, and urban. I like desert best since there's a lot of desert and dirty places in juarez. But I'm sticking with the ACU since that's what I like best.

  8. WOW. No not world of warcraft. Wow as in this is amazing. I reinstalled the game to play by myself and then I installed this mod. This makes the game so much easier. I basically flew through the second mission. I got perfect on both the first and second missions. First mission I got Man of Steel and Black Ops. Second I got Black Ops only cause a guy got a lucky potshot on me when I was sniping. If I used this and Brettzies' mod, I don't even wanna begin to imagine how it would turn out. It sounds like you used the G36 sounds I wish Task Force Wraith would make a comeback and camo out all the standard issue GRAW 2 guns like they did in GRAW cause I think their ACUs look better than the ones put in by GRIN or UBI in this one. But great job snow. I really love the triangular scope for the CQB weapons. I think that is so awesome how you took one weapon and made like 5 different variants. I feel like an idiot. Tried putting Brettzies' files in with Snow's and I got Brettzie's intro movie but Snow's rifles. Cause I seriously think that would be bawesome to have Snow and Brettzies' mods in one. I'm gonna back Marcinko on this. Unfortunately I haven't been able to fire an HK 416 or 417 because I'm not even in the military let alone under SOCOM. Wish HK would release their weapons to the public. If we can own AR-15's and CAR-15's made by other companies, including Colt, here in the U.S. why can't we own the 416 and/or 417? And I haven't fired a weapon with a (I think it was) Holo sight but I have heard good things. But I don't wanna ask Snow to do more than he already has. The Masada mod already makes a big difference. Just wish I could get the Leupold sight on the M14 with this mod. Anyways, I'm out. Great mod, dude.

  9. Oh yeah. The whole reason I switched to PC is cause I played GR 2 on PS2 and was like "What's going on? It's not 1st person." Cause I started GR out on PS2 and it was almost as fun as PC but I guess the SOCOM fans got the best of console gaming and that's when it made a turn for the worse into 3rd person shooters. Each version has it's strong points but I just think GR was supposed to be played as a FPS. I did like how GRIN brought back the briefing maps. If they kept the briefing like that, I wouldn't mind but I do think they should bring back the first person insertions like in GRAW. Even if there's nothing being said during the chopper or stryker ride to the mission area, I still think they should bring it back. It would give the teammates a lot more time to plan for the mission on the way there. The ACUs were a welcome addition to the game for me because they went perfect with the terrains at hand. But if Ubi does decide to make a new installation to this series, I think they need to get a new name for it and also a new country to liberate because if the U.S. hasn't conquered the Mexican military by now, something's definately wrong. And thanks for your condolences, Knight. It's been a long rough month but it's also been pretty decent considering I've been able to see my nephew a few times.

  10. Dear 8 pound 6 ounce newborn infant Jesus. Can't even say a word in your golden fleece diapers. We thank you for the no-BS types like Parabellum and Whitenight and instilling all your wisdom in them. Dear baby God we hope you can use your baby Jesus powers to heal sup. He has diarrhea of the mouth and nothing he says ever makes sense. Thank you again Dear baby God. Amen. I nailed that like a split hog!

  11. Ah I'm done playing this game for now. It's not that I'm too busy with school since I'm only taking Arabic 2 and English 112. It's just that this game kinda killed the concept of PC games for both me and my friend. After this came out we kinda turned our backs on any info of other games. If GRIN and/or Ubi wants to make another installation in the GRAW series, I really think they should go back to the first person insertions like we had in GRAW 1. I loved the briefings in that game on the way to the LZ cause it made it feel like you were being briefed on the go all the time. I love the feature of being able to replay the cross com messages because everytime they would say something in GRAW 1, one of us would always open our mouth and talk over the briefing person. And make the tactical map the way it used to be. Available to team members(not just team leaders) and get rid of the overview map because it's easier to set waypoints when you can zoom in and out. And I also loved the feature of controlling your team members through their eyes. Even with the great work the modders have done with the game, it's still mediocre at best. And I am aware of there being more important issues to complain about other than videogames. My grandfather passed away earlier this month and that made me appreciate things in life a lot more. However, this game isn't one of those things. The things I appreciate more in life are education opportunities, family, and overall life itself. But whenever I have some free time, I use it to go hiking. I used to use it to play GRAW and GRAW 2 but GRAW 2 just made me sour on thoughts of future PC games. It does have it's strong points like ACUs and the M416 but that's pretty much it. So unless someone can make it so there's 1st person insertions and tac maps for the team members, not just the team leaders, I'm done with this game.

  12. John Kerry eats babies, Hilary Clinton's a lesbian, Howard Dean's a psycho and Al Gore believes in man-bear-pig. So can you please lock this thread? Gettin sick of seeing the wrong people posting here. Asked for people with military experience to post their views. Not law school major/politician wannabes. Here's the warning for all threads for those who wanna be on the debate team: Political discussions are hereby banned. Oh and I almost forgot. The line forms to my right to blow me.

  13. It's also funny how the majority of the charges are being dropped on the Marines that SUPPOSEDLY killed innocent civilians in cold blood in the Haditha case. If the Blackwater guards did turn out to shoot and kill 11 civilians unprovoked then they'll most likely be fired. A Blackwater employee killed a man I think last year and the guy wasn't doing anything and he was fired. But if Blackwaters is kicked out, Iraq would be making a huge mistake cause I'm pretty sure Blackwater provides security for some of their top officials as well. But don't go accusing them of being swaggering private gunslingers just because the media reported it. Haditha was supposedly one of the biggest war crimes committed in Iraq and that was by Marines. Not private gunslingers. But that case is falling apart at the seams because it's turning out that the media blew it out of proportion just like they do everything else. My friend's bustin his butt for this country as a Marine who already did one tour in Iraq and is going back for his second in about a month and all I hear is ungrateful false accusations against people just like him fighting the war from people who do nothing but sit on their couch all day with the toughest thing that comes to their mind which is sitting around eating popcorn and debating whether he did this or they did that. Ungrateful little twits that just whine whine whine.

  14. And there's also the fact that we dropped two A bombs on Japan to eventually make the surrender and end the war. If we were allowed to pop more terrorists like these soldiers did, we'd be closer to winning the war. And besides this guy's bombs haven't only been used to kill our servicemen and women. They've also been used to kill civilians. Anyways, this thread's gonna be deleted sooner or later because it's gettin too political. I posted for anybody with experience to post and then some law school wannabe gets involved and next thing you know you're on fire...GI Joooooeee

  15. Well you see. The guy they killed was in Afghanistan and he was a known terrorist. He made bombs used to kill us. The reason they're calling it murder is because they COULD have captured him. It's like how are they sure the village he was staying at wasn't under the influence of the Taliban? And people have been killing people in wars for as long as we've existed so it does kinda change the concept of murder being illegal. It's not murder if the guy's an enemy combatant. It's just a dead enemy. I think we should loosen up on the Rules of Engagement and tell all the press to pack their bags and go home and let our guys do their jobs the way they've been doing em since our existence. You think shooting a terrorist is murder? There's a story of Robert Rogers, the founder of Rogers' Ranger, of him scalping a French soldier to make an example and boost morale. Like Parabellum said in the Blackwater post. We've done bad things ourselves in wars but those things helped get the job done.

  16. Yeah spend all the time with em that you can. My dad has a lot of regrets not visiting his father more often but I really think he did his best. I actually just got a book on my grand father's unit around the time he served. It's about a HQ unit in Kunsan, Korea between WW2 and Korea. My grandfather was in Company E and that's one of the companies shown on the map so it's gonna be a very interesting read and my dad thinks highly of me for doing the research, finding out what unit my grandfather was in, and getting that book so after I'm done reading it, he'll read it. But yeah. I do have my good and bad days with it. But I'm hangin in there and tryin to stay positive and active.

  17. Anybody wanna comment on the possibility of Blackwater getting kicked out of Iraq for shooting what's said to be 11 Iraqi civilians? I don't know anything about that organization so I can't really comment but maybe some current/ex-military members would like to share their opinions on this.

  18. Man Para I wish I was as lucky as you. I have comcast and whenever I go to check my email there's some story on Iraq that makes me role my eyes. I just took my friend's advice who's in the Marines by taking most of the stories with a grain of salt. I hate to be so negative by saying that but it just gets annoying reading about it every day. And I also feel bad because when I do enlist and if I get to go through all the training I plan to go through, I'll more than likely end up there. I don't really look at it as burying my head in the sand. I look at it as keeping a positive outlook on life. But there's always people that will argue with my views and I respect that. I just hope it doesn't lead to us pulling out anytime soon. Cause like you said. Germany and Japan took a while to rebuild.
