EA buy into Ubi *updated* Posted by Rocky on Monday, December 20 2004
This news just in!
"Electronic Arts is to buy 20 percent of French publisher Ubi Soft, the Wall Street Journal has confirmed this morning, at a reported cost of between $85 million and $100 million."
Neither publisher has made a public comment as yet, but that doesn't stop you from having your say!
Here's an update (from gametab) that puts a slightly more worrying slant on things....
"Update: Unsurprisingly, it's hostile: "Pending further information, we consider this operation as hostle," an Ubi Soft spokesman told Reuters. "

Dark Star Posted by Rocky on Wednesday, December 15 2004
Blakarion's Operation Dark Star campaign is now available for download at Fileplanet. There are several pages of progress news and images in this forum discussion, remember to leave your feedback for Blakarion there too.
It's a great campaign (requires DS and IT), with some neat touches. It even comes with a training mission that includes learning how to use an EMU to disarm mines and eavesdrop on the enemy! We hope to have a full review shortly, but don't wait for the review, this is a campaign well worth the download.

9/10 Posted by Rocky on Saturday, December 4 2004
Here's two new Ghost Recon 2 reviews, both scoring 9/10.
XboxCore say ...
"great gameplay surpassing even that of SOCOM, amazing Xbox graphics... highly recommended"
and Xbox3565 have prepared an interesting Ghost Recon 2 v Halo 2 comparison. Although both games socre very closely in each department, Xbox365 have scored Ghost Recon 2 a whole 20% better than Halo 2 for online play.
"The satisfaction of killing the enemy in Ghost Recon 2 is far bigger than the all out attack mode in Halo 2 - the pressure of getting nailed is also far more extreme...Ghost Recon 2 is
about as good as it gets online"
